  2. Re: The Warehouse I think someone mentioned King Kongs body... I'd use a gorilla from the beastiary and add about 10 levels of growth.

  4. Re: Pulp Film Recommendations The Ron Ely movie Doc Savage can be had from http://retroflicks.com/shop/store/00022.html on DVD for $9.99.
  5. Construction was completed in February of 1933 under the control of the Hidalgo Trading Company with offices in New York City. This secure storage facility is the state if the art in high tech storage. So what items are stored here? And how would you write them up in Hero terms?
  6. Re: The Pulp Hero Vehicle Sourcebook I'd say yes
  7. Re: Pulp Reading How about some Jack London: Call of the Wild, White Fang or Silver Chief.
  8. Re: PULP HERO -- What Do *You* Want To See? Maybe a page or sidebar about Vibora Bay and Hudson City in the pulp era. I'd say Millenium City but as wew all know that was Detroit back then....
  9. Re: PULP HERO -- What Do *You* Want To See? Evil Cults and samples of Artifacts as plot hooks like the Spear of Destiny, the Philosophers Stone, Arc of the Covenant, Holy Grail, etc... OOH OH and Lost Cities. And have I mentioned MAPS
  10. Re: Pulp Film Recommendations Van Helsing And King of the North with Lee Marvin, its not really pulp but it does give you great feel for life on the rails during the great depression.
  11. Re: Welcome To The New PULP HERO Forum! This is for me the most anticipated product since the ressurrection of the Hero system. I am just in a tizzy.
  12. Re: Pulp Film Recommendations The Mummy and sequal with Branden Frasier Around the World in 80 Days with Jackie Chan National Treasure Second Hand Lions (in the flash back sequences) Big Jake with John Wayne

  15. Re: PULP HERO -- What Do *You* Want To See? 1) Orgaizations in the pulp era like organized crime groups, law enforcement groups, bad guy gangs/clubs, gentlemens/adventurers clubs, etc. 2) Maps approriate to the era along with geographic/political nuggets of info. 3) A primer on the lingo/jargon of the time. 4) Oh yeah and did I mention MAPS.
  16. Re: Does wearing armor need a skill ? For non-powered armors I use a WF, but for powered armors I use RSR only to offset PSL s.
  17. Re: Resource Points: when do you require 'em? As a house rule if an item can be purchased over the counter at large retailers like Walmart, Walgreens, Albertsons, or even Big 5 Sporting Goods (except for weapons) I don't charge resource points. Things that have a combat application, or specialty stores , or special licenses/restricted access I charge resource points. Thus a common cell phone doesn't cost points but a satellite phone does. In your example I would charge points for both the gun and the pepper spray as they are both weapons and have combat applications. If a player wanted to carry both and did not have enough Resource points then he or she would need to spend some Exp and expand their resource point pool.
  18. Re: The Stormtrooper Effect I seem to remember Obi-Wan telling a young Luke Skywalker "those were no desert raiders...the blast patterns are to precise....it must have been Imperial Storm Troopers" after which Luke jumps in his jalopie and races home to discover the bodies of his aunt and uncle. This and the general fear emanated from everyone that is confronted by STs seems to inidicate an overall compentency that is not reflected in the movies. Even the heroes in the saga displayed this fear/respect, so I believe that STs should be competent and scary for the players (though slightly less competent than the PCs)
  19. Re: Please explain in English about the guns You can purchase a PDF download of Sidekick for $7.00 and then you'd have the basic core of the game right now... I use the full system but I purchased 2 copies of sidekick for new players to familairize them with the system. Once you have the basics from sidekick the rest is a breeze. This also allows you to then later purchase 5ER to add the bells and whistles. Hope this helps
  20. Re: Modern Bows and Accessories? Bows are indeed talked about in FH. Listed on pg 166 and talked about on page 170. Most of the rules for custom weapons and add ons for guns talked about in DC would be very appropriate to bows. Modern bows would do slightly more damage than archaic bows, and have a slightly reduced STR min for compound bows (for example a 50 pound compound has only a 25 to 30 pound break). Some gadgets available for modern bows include: Telescopic sights Laser Sights Silencers Camoflage Custom Triggers special quivers and special arrows (target, hunting, whiffle, fishing, blunts, etc...) I was once told by a history professor that I used to bow hunt with that if Native Americans had bows with todays technology back in the day....we would all be living on the European continent... I hope all this helps
  21. Re: A Modern League of Extroardinary Gentlemen Here are a few real people that I think would make a dazzling team: Harry Houdini (World Class Escape Artist) Carlos Hathcock (Worlds deadliest Sniper - 93 confirmed kills including one shot from 2500 yards) Nikola Tesla (Tesla Coils)
  22. Re: Character Questionaire No, it is listed in the online store as a download for purchase. But it is well worth the cost. I purchased the hard copy when it was available and it is one of the more usefull products I have.
  23. Re: Star Trek Ships Great website....and I just happen to have that game...very cool
  24. Re: Availability of books I typically purchase my books online directly from Hero. The average time for me to receive them here in Utah is about 3 working days. And now the new policy is that they don't even charge shipping here in the US. I started purchasing online for the very reason that I was having problems with my local vendor acquiring Hero products.
