  2. Re: Speedster - something new for me Ah thank you, sadly I don't own that book, ah well, time to keep looking. Andrew
  3. Re: Speedster - something new for me Thanks for the reply. I cannot find Kinetic in MC anywhere, could it be in a different book? Andrew
  4. Hi everyone. Well after trying for a very long time, my gaminmg group is finally playing in a Champions game (on hiatus from the current D&D game that usually fits this time slot). Some of my friends are vetran champs players and we've made characters before, so I have a few under my belt. For this new game, I decided I wanted to try to make a speedster, a new one for me. The books I own are Champions, 5ER, Millenium City, and Conquerors, Killers, and Crooks. We're doing a 350 point game (200 + 150) and I was wondering if people could point me to some 350 point examples. Whether it's in those books or on the boards or other sites. Thanks in advance to anyone that lends a hand. Andrew
  5. Re: Ann Arbor - Ucon I'd love to go, but lack of a job and gas make it difficult.

    Batman Begins

Re: Batman Begins Saw the movie Sunday and saw it again on Monday (Father's Day and then took my fiancee) absolutely loved it. The one thing I know for sure is that they finally got Batman/Bruce Wayne right.
  7. Re: Advice for new GMs I'll be sure the check those out. Andrew
  8. Well I'm a new GM (or at least I'm going to be soon). The biggest problem for me is getting the nerve to run, especially since I've never played in HS a game. My gaming group really wants to play in a Champions game, but the only person that have played Champions before are currently GMing a game and he doesn't want to run two games. I'm basically looking for some good advice for a new GM. Especially on getting started. Any help is great. Andrew
  9. Re: light saber color signification It would likely not be possible. But, that was half the fun. Doing things that just didn't make sense was, and still is fun.
  10. Re: light saber color signification I remember a few years back when I was trying to run a WEG Star Wars game, I ended up with only 1 player So I made an N/PC that I played and added character points and the like to during play. My player was going for Jedi so I made a random colour table up (I don't remember what I used for it) but for fun, one of the colours I put on there was black. The funny part was that the player was working on a three crystal saber and in his exploration he gets one green and two black crystals. He wanted green so my N/PC traded the crystals with him after a bit, and made himself a black lightsaber. I called it the shadowsaber because it looked like a shadow swinging through the air. *sigh* I miss those days.
  11. Re: MPD and the villian goes crazy Yes, it would pretty much be "comic book MPD" as you call it. Right now he's just a concept, so when I start pointing him out, who knows, things could change, I might not even like part of the idea. I'm thinking about trying to make him the primary villian for my campain, if I can make that work. And, if it goes long enough, he's going to have a "radiation accident" where they all split apart from eachother, leaving 7 superpowered beings, and one heck of a broken man.
  12. Re: MPD and the villian goes crazy Well I'm glad to see I've been on the right track. Now I guess what's confusing is do each of my "personalities" need multiform for change, or does just one need it and it's grandfathered to all the others? Andrew
  13. Ok, so I'm in the planning and designing phase of a Champs game and I thought of a villian with Multiple Personalities. The basic idea is he has MPD, he doesn't know he has it and whenever he changes, so do his powers. The change happens randomly, so one minute the team could be fighting a brick, the next he's shooting energy beams at them, and next he's a speedster. And here is where I have problems. Being fairly new the HS I'm not very good at stating out characters, I've had so many ideas it's not funny, but whenever I work on statting them out, I get a little over-whelmed. What I was wondering is if a) people could give suggestions of how I could do this and/or come up with some write-ups I could use for ideas. My current idea is using multiform in the mix, but that's as far as I've gotten. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Andrew
  14. Re: What do with a player ... Thanks guys. Some of the guys can be intimidating in my group so hopefully things will work out ok. I'll let you guys know how it ends up. Andrew
  15. I'm planning on starting a game soon. Now understand in my gaming group soon means roughly two months. Anyways, ever since I've saw the write-up for the upcoming "Teen Champions" book I've had ideas with mixing Champions and TFOS. Now the plans are for the game to have fun times and serious times with write up I'm working on. But my issue comes down to one of my players. He doesn't understand what "No direct copying of characters means". In a teen game he started with wanting to be the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and I told him no. The next thing he mentioned was a martial artist, duplicating, I had no problem with it, in fact I said it was a great idea. Now suddenly he's under the assumption he gets to make "Captain Marvel". At first I tried to be nice and drop a few hints that I wasn't impressed with the idea and gave him a few suggestions to modify the character so it wasn't an exact copy. He said he didn't want to change it. I've now out right stated he can't do Cap, and here comes the problem because now I've got him complaining, and complaining I can handle from the player whom I've forced to change something, but now another player is trying to explain to me how I should be more flexible and just allow the guy play Cap because "All he ever makes is copies and no GMs have had problems in the future". The funny part is the guy making this comment is the only other GM the guy has played under. Now I don't know what do, should I give in and let him do it and just throw my original plans out or should I stand strong when I know he's just going to keep making copies. Past stories of similair situations and how they were handled would be quite nice. Heck, even explainations would be nice. This will be the first game I've ever GMed and I would really like to not go down as the groups worst GM.
  16. Re: Fake TV-Shows I remember in the show Static Shock there was a "reality" show called 'Heroes'. Andrew
  17. Re: Abilities for a blind character The idea was basically that in battle the character could create the eye to use instead of others, but it would cost more was the general idea. She'd rather use others eyes and the "source" of her power would rather she'd use the eyes of others, hence the higher difficulty of the eye.
  18. I've got a player that wants to make a blind mystic. She wants to try to make a power that would allow her to see through other peoples eyes. She also wants to try to make a spell for her character that would be able to create a "floating eye" that she could use this power on during battle. The floating eye we'd want to have some physical form so it could be destoryed, and possibly to move it making it like a 1/2 phase action that costs endurance. Any suggestions would be appreciated, Andrew
  19. Re: Creating Races Ok, that might work. Although every race has their specific abilities, not everybody of that race chooses to improve their abilities. Thank you very much, I have a lot of work cut out for me. Andrew
  20. I'm working on setting up a Sci-Fi campaign from a custom universe based of a novel that I'm an editor for. I've been given permission by the author to write a the characters and races and such for use in this campaign. What I'm looking for is help creating the races, well ideas of what to do. From what I've read, you don't see power's in Packaged Deals, but each of these races have a specific power. Like there's one race where every member of it can teleport, and another that can drain life force from another being as long as it can see it's eyes. Any ideas would be great, I can give more details if needed. Thanks in advance, Andrew
  21. Re: Early "What do you want to see?" for Teen Champions I'm thinking of pulling out TFOS to combine with this when it comes out.
  22. Re: My Teen Champions Game I'm planning on starting a Teen Champs game soon. Granted this will be my first time playing in the HS and GMing in it so, it could be interesting. My plan is going to combine champs and Teenagers from Outer Space. It should be fun. I have a few people looking forward to this game, but now I just have to make it through the D20 Rokugan that everyone wants me to run first. I'm now to the point that I would rather run this one, but I digress. I can't wait to run my Teen Champs game.
  23. Re: One of my PCs wants to become a US law enforcement officer I would much prefer "Come out of the house, and we'll burn your house down ..."
  24. Re: Symbiotic Relationship When looking at symbiotic relationships that have been used in the past. I think of the common one from the comics where you have Venom and Carnage (and anyone else that was made from chunks of Venom). They had what I would call a parasitic symbiotic relationship where one being (the alien goo) couldn't really do anything without the host. It's possible to have a symbiotic relationship that does nothing until the two beings are joined. Now mechanics-wise, I don't know what anything will take because I just got 5ER and it's my first HS book. So, I'll check back as I know a little more.
  25. Re: Lum! Yum! I quite enjoy watching Super Gal. It's funny when you see that leopard print clothing and green hair, and you just know it's Lum. If you haven't seen it, I reccomend Takashi's Rumik World stuff, it's quite good, and if you watch Fire Tripper you will quickly see that it was the precursor to Inu Yasha.
