  1. In Illinois you can claim your winnings anonymously--there's a place for it on the claim form. Someone can find out who won, however, by filing a request under the Freedom Of Information Act. I don't know how that works, so I don't know if just any curious slob can do it. Yes--having that much money all at once will change your life forever. How it changes your life--that's up to you. As a wiser man than myself--Albus Dumbledore--once said, "It is not our abilities that show what we truly are. It is our choices." Good Luck to all who play--and well-wishes to everyone else.
  2. Well--darn. There is no joy in Philly, and I'm not feeling so hot, myself. I'm just gonna sit and sulk for a while. Don't worry, I'll be all right tomorrow. I hope.
  3. I wouldn't call it a tax. Nobody forces you to play the lottery--but if you win and win big, you do have to pay taxes on the winnings. Otherwise you get the cell next to Capone. (Okay, maybe not that last one. But you do go to jail.) Any suggestions for casting Crusader & Starburst? Because I do want to fund that streaming series.
  4. Well--doggone it again. Here's hoping for a comeback in Houston. GO PHILLIES!!!
  5. Well--doggone it. It does make sense, though, that the team with the best record in the American League for this year wasn't going to roll over and die. This Series may just get to Game Seven. GO PHILLIES!!!
  6. I was thinking Black Harlequin as well. I had the idea that for Thanksgiving (which I posted in the Hero System Facebook Group) he would duplicate the infamous "Turkey Drop" from WKRP In Cincinnati. Only instead of live turkeys, he would use plush turkeys stuffed with explosives, and there would be hundreds of them, if not thousands.
  7. Seven runs in five innings. Is it too early to celebrate? GO PHILLIES!
  8. Well--that was disappointing. So the Astros want to make it a fight? Okay. We can fight. GO PHILLIES!!!
  9. Game One of the Series was a nail-biter for sure, but the Phillies scored a run in the tenth inning to pull ahead and win after being down by five runs earlier. Looking forward to Game Two. GO PHILLIES!
  10. I wouldn't say that. But I would say you're old fashioned, and that you're over the hill. . .
  11. You could define mental-based teleportation as either "telekinetic space-warping" or "mentally disassembling oneself, then self-projecting to the destination and reassembling oneself." Actually, you can define just about any power as being mentally based. Super strength? Mentally augmented muscles. Invisibility? Clouding people's minds. Invulnerability? Telekinetic force field. Heat rays? Telekinetic stimulation at the molecular level. Walking through walls? See teleportation. X-Ray vision? Clairsentience to see through walls. Matter-eating? Mentally transmuting the matter in question to something edible. Hope that helps.
  12. And comic book science as well.
  13. Isn't that the font used for writing scary messages for horror movies? You go into a room, and written on the wall in blood are the words, "Get Out Now." Yeah, looks just like that.
  14. There was an element of that as well, if you believe Cary Bates. This was the Supermobile's first appearance, in March 1978-- And this was the original Supermobile, from a World's Finest story where Superman's powers were transferred to Batman-- I wouldn't mind having that as a toy, either.
  15. He created it during a situation where he couldn't count on his own superpowers--the Supermobile uses Kryptonian technology to simulate his powers. The robot arms simulate his strength, and it can fly as fast as he can, and withstand tremendous amounts of damage. Not to mention it protects him from Kryptonite.
  16. I'm about ready to pull the trigger on McFarlane's new lineup of Super Powers toys. They look really great, especially the comic-accurate Supermobile, and while the figures don't have the Power Action features of the originals, the sculpting and articulation make up for it. The Super Powers were a favorite of mine back in the 80s, and it's good to have them back.
  17. Another second for Jolly Blackburn. And I will nominate Mike Grell.
  18. Mmm-Hmm. Rich, powerful. If we were to rescue her, the reward would be. . .
  19. And It's Launched! They've already hit their funding target and are closing in on $600,000 in donations. The fact that delivery is not expected until October 2023 has not slowed things down a bit. I would hope that the Expanded Bestiary includes the Jabberwock. The KickStarter page goes into more detail about the system--this is definitely not a D20 game. And there are a few other surprises as well.
