  1. Okay--I'll take the raisins if I'm starving. Circus Peanuts, Good 'N Plenty--pass. Never had Mary Jane, but a quick bit of research says they're peanut butter and molasses, so I'll take 'em. Sno-Caps, Milk Duds--yes to both. Squirrel Nut Zipper--not interested. Bit 'O Honey--I ate those when I was little I'd take it. Australian Liquorice--Not particularly fond of the American version. Pass. I'll pass on the Neccos as well--since the crazy guy with a hook for a right hand wants them, he can have them.

  3. "Please do not be alarmed. We understand if you are unsettled by the presence of such infinitely superior beings such as ourselves."

    "If It's Chilling. . .It's THRILLING!"
  5. So passes the last sane Republican. Lord help the others find their way back to common sense.
  6. I'll go with "Every Mythological Creature Now Exists." Yes, you get all the monsters--but you also get all the heroes. Herakles. Prometheus. Jason and The Argonauts. Gilgamesh. Thor. Balder. Monster Slayer and Child Of Water, from the Navajo. And as the monsters rise, so too, shall the heroes rise to protect us--and show how to protect ourselves.

  8. I don't know as Ellison would get along that well with Bezos, though. Ellison never struck me as being a fan of super-rich types. I was actually thinking it would be nifty if Shatner were to go up again once there's a manned orbital vehicle developed for the New Glenn rocket. If a few minutes on the edge of space is really great--imagine what a ride around the world would be like.
  9. Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Walter Koenig, George Takei, Daisy Ridley--and yes, Bill Mumy. To name but a few.
  10. Shatner Returns From Space Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds – and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of – wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there, I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air. Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace Where never lark, or even eagle flew – And, while with silent lifting mind I’ve trod The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand and touched the face of God. John Magee, High Flight I like to think that's engraved on a marble tablet at Starfleet Academy.

How would you like your characters to encounter THIS in the middle of a Republic Serial?
  14. I wonder if that would include angels? See, they may not look scary, but a patient could see one and conclude, "They've come to take me to Heaven!"
  15. The striped suit in the costume shop belongs to Beetlejuice.
  16. Here's an idea for Halloween--why have a black cat, when you can have a black chicken?

Censors? No Way! I DEMAND Freedom Of Artistic Expression! Why, the very thought of. . . Wait, what are we talking about?

When your pulp adventurers go into space to investigate the newly discovered Planet X-- this is likely what they'll wear.

Here's another boxing image from the pulp era. I wonder if Richard Matheson or Boston Dynamics knows about this. . .
