  3. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Multi barrelled grenade launcher is being used. The grenades are color coded, but the players have ideas what the colors do. Malinkya: I don't want you charging in there lobbing random grenades! Sailesh: It's not random! It's RED!
  4. The title says it all. I need a way to LOOK at a character, see his aura, and get an idea of power level, magic, psionics, etc... I had thoughtdetect, but with it's inherent 360, etc... I was not sure... any ideas?

  9. Re: Is this really THAT abusive Yeah...I agree with manic... PSL to counter-act the unfamiliarity... I agree that an incredibly skilled weapon master should be able to wield almost any weapon he picks up... but not that he is familiar with it... while it seems to be a nit picky thing, so much about the hero system is flavor... as such, the flavor enforcing the lack of familiarity seems appropriate... For that matter, I agree with the assertion that no one can know all of the weapons... even if you have used a rapier with a french style swept hilt... and pick up a rapier with a russian basket guard without quillions... while the differences are very very mild at best...the weapon handles in an almost completely different manner... just a couple pence

  16. Re: Lycanthropy Not really... the character can turn it off at will when it is persistent... Page 275 of 5ER says "A Persistent Power costs 0 END to maintain, and remains turned on until the character consciously decides to turn it off"

  18. Re: Sooo... Immunity to magic well... Honestly... I did change it completely... but.. it was still a question that I was curious about... I wanted to figure out how to do it... because... well... the paradigm has, similar to the cthulu mythos, entities that predate the universe... they... are immune to magic... they're not terribly powerful outside of that...

Saying that other pwoers were not in the previous editionsd is a little bit different... the powers were not in it... but this power -DR is... and it is limited... Besides... DR wouldn't cover it, I don't think... because it is immune to ALL magic... Aid, Succcor, healing... none of them can effect it... or, as usual... is that an issue that I have not gotten to? Does DR subtract from those too?

Re: Points Equality See... there are some things about xander that you are missing 1) Xander has a mighty metric buttload of body... he takes some of the most severe beatings in the series... 2) Xander is LUCKY... VERY INCREDIBLY LUCKY... with all the stuff that is going on around him, he's managed to survive it ALL... 3) THEN... in hero terms... he picks up a follower... a demon.... 4) he's a weridness nexus... giving him insight that no one else gets... so... he, by himself... no so cool.. but with the follower and the subtle stuff thrown in... I like the character concept

Re: Beam vs. Walls and Entangles okay... here's a mechaqnics versus reality question a laser is a beam by definition, but any reflective surface can reflect and refract it (basic photon behavior interacting with optics) Meaning that it CAN be bounced... off the right surfaces... how would that be modeled?
