Or at least no one at Cyber Command appears to know. Lt. Cmdr. Steve Curry, a spokesman, says "it's definitely the mission statement" of Cyber Command. "What part of the mission statement: That's what I'm waiting to find out on from the people who designed it."..." -Carl-

6. Re: What's in YOUR future history? My "Comsentient Alliance" universal history has most (if not all) of the points you and others have already mentioned: The war that helps to finally unify (mostly) Earth. The push outward by a unified humanity. The conflict between "the homeworld" and "the colonies". The meeting(s) with various other species. The dispute between those who want to befriend other species and those bent on genocide. Etc.... Of course, since the initial version of my future history was originally begun in the early to mid 1980's the projected calender dates are up for potential revision (eg: the radicalization of the Soviet Union by Muslim extremists and the subsequent merger of the USSR with a radical middle Eastern state and the ensuing chaos it brings the world was slated to happen by 1990-ish...etc). Additionally I'd consider adding some cultural flavor. To pull an example from an old episode of Star Trek: one of the characters quotes from a poem that is famous throughout the galaxy and that would potentially be a "common knowledge fact" that children might learn in school.....etc And, depending on if you have designs for more than on campaign genre (eg: Dark Champions circa 2010 and Star Hero circa ????, etc) how unified you might like those worlds to be. I, for one, am playing with having elements that show up in one era effect the other....maybe. Just my slightly more than $.02US. Oh...and yes, the Puma Twins and Artemis-Alpeia as well. Or at least analogs to them.....

8. Since this story could be used in a number of genres as a plot hook I decided to post it here..... http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=128288987&sc=fb&cc=fp -Carl-
9. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/eu_britain_livingstone_letter "It's not clear how Livingstone's letter ever left the continent, although presumably Stanley took it back to Waller. The document disappeared from view for nearly a century before surfacing again at auction in 1966. By then it was indecipherable. Out of paper and low on ink, Livingstone tore pages from books and newspapers and wrote with a pigment improvised from the seeds of a local berry. A century later, the makeshift ink had nearly faded to invisibility, a problem compounded by the brittle paper and Livingstone's chaotic handwriting."

11. Re: Cool Guns for your Games Speaking of movie firearms....Here's the "graduation gift from Bob" that Maggie (Bridget Fonda) receives in the movie "Point Of No Return" (the Americanized version of the film "Nikita") - a Hämmerli Model 280 semi-auto .22 caliber pistol (Hämmerli is a Swiss manufacturer of firearms which are used in sport shooting and Olympic events). In addition to conversion to blank fire, it was also custom chromed specifically for the production.

14. Saw this news story and immediately had several, still half formed, gaming ideas....so I thought I'd share: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100627/ap_on_re_us/us_the_bourne_deception -Carl-
15. Re: Cool Guns for your Games Yep. Tim Thomerson as our hero. Helen Hunt as his companion (http://en.wikipedia.org /wiki/Trancers )....Apparently, they made SIX movies in the franchise ! (Not including "Evil Bong" where apparently the character also shows up... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_Bong )) Still need to see that particular cinematic endeavor...But I believe, from what I have heard, you are correct. -Carl-
16. Re: Cool Guns for your Games I have a vague (very vague) recollection of a weapon like that being used in one of Charles Bands movies....You know, the guy who brought us the Trancers franchise and other films like Demonic Toys, Dollman, etc.... Wish I could recall more. Sigh. -Carl-

19. Re: Cool Futuristic Projects Genom had a HQ building that had a similar look in "Bubblegum Crisis".... And I think that Kronos Corporation, the villainous corporation in The Guyver manga/anime had a similar tower.... And lets not forget the Tyrell Corp from "Blade Runner" -Carl-
20. Re: Mehrikah: A Post-Apocalypse alternate future for Kazei Five That's about all I have to say....except that I will, most likely, be adapting chunks of this for my own uses/campaigns...Thanks for the cool stuff! -Carl-
21. Re: Quadrotor Nice find...I'm kind of reminded of some of the "Brilliant Pebbles" test videos that came out of the SDI projects. -Carl-
