  1. Thanks for the info, once I have a had a chance to read it I will post questions.
  2. I have not figured out how to do or if I will do a magic attribute. I have decided that for every 10 active points of cyberware/bioware there is a permanent -1 to the skill roll for magic. I have also decided that instead of reducing drain (Shadowrun) I will use side effect on failed skill rolls.
  3. Has anyone converted this to Hero. I am curious as to how you would do magic attribute. I have a pretty good idea how I want to do everything else.
  4. I was in a fantasy game that started with 30+50 and we are now 350+ characters each. Due to campaign limits, we are still not challeneged by wharf rats, but we are no where able to fight gods. Our challenges are protecting a kingdom from enemies who use powful magic and monsters. In that the fights are challenging and can be fatal. But part of the time we are also investigating, maniuplating events to protect the kingdom. Yes you can play 350 point characters in FH. The challenges will be different than starting characters. Of course that is true for any genre and game system.
  5. Some further information that I should have posted orginally. I bought the power as a spell that I cast on people. Also we do not use GM discretion, we use the time chart to see when a recovery occurs. As a result you can be put into a coma.
  6. My fantasy hero character has a regen which heals body. He would also like to heal one stun every time he heals a body. How would you do that?
  7. I have played in multiple fantasy hero games. Several based in Forgotten Realms, which include a dwarf that was raised by elves and a earth gensai. My longest running character is Aaron Smithson who started as a 30 50 scout who knew a little magic from the college of sense and exploration. He is know a 400 point character who is the teams scout/skill guy. There are people on the the team better at me at certain skills (Mainly magic and with certain weapons) but with 2 overall skills and 3 levels with all skills anything I attempt I do well. He is also one of 2 orginal characters still active in the campaign. He started at 15 in now in his 20s with wife and child and quite the reputation.
  8. When I do "Wolverine" healing, I do a combination of regeneration, high recovery, and a continous 2d6 heal that is inherent.
  9. In Wildcat's Champion's game, I had a character named CyberKnight whose powers were based on an activation roll of 14- with side effects. I have never rolled so many 15's on 3d6 in my life. I took my self out of more fights than the enemy ever did.
  10. I have a Champions character who is a wizard called Wiz. I was at an auction in Mass. monitioring who bought some magical artifacts. Of course, agents were used to make the purchases. So I snuck in after hours found the filing cabinent where the infomation was stored. I wanted to open the cabinent in a way that was undetectable. I had to travel back to Washington DC, get a team member with the apprioprate skills and travel back to pick the lock on the file cabinent. It took years to live that one down.
  11. When I have wanted a character with wolverines regeneration. I have normally bought it as aid (healing, 0end, always on, persistent) and regeneration. What ends up happening is the small wounds get healed up on my phase and the bigger wounds take a while using regen. The combination of the number of dice and regen determine how much like wolverine I heal.
  12. In my case it was a little different. I had a wizard who had a VPP. I was relatively new to Hero and did not realize/appreciate how powerful I was. In his third group there was a power suit player who had vaiable advantage. After he used it in combat quite effectively, I asked him how he did it. He explained to me and my wizard tried it with his spells and all of sudden for no xp spent my power went up. There have been several instance of the longer we work together developing tatics/stunts to make the group more effective.
  13. It will all depend on how your campaign handles fear. If it is presence based than buy Presence (only vs fear -1). If it is skill based than buy the skill Resistance. If it is power by the defense vs that power only vs fear.
  14. The coolest start of a campaign I was in was a Cyber hero game. It started with: DM "You awake on an airplane in first class." Me: "What time/day is it?" DM: " 12 days have passed since you last remeber." Me: "I look at my ticket stub" DM: "It says you are flying from Tokyo to your home in Dallas." Me: "Where was I 12 days ago?" DM: "Dallas" Me: "I look around for anyone else that is waking up/looking confused" DM: "You see 5 other people" A Champions variant would be you regain concisness and see the rest of the team waking up with no memory of the fight.
  15. In a Fantasy Hero game my hero had a enraged when innocents hurt. We had been playing the game in RL for several years. Our adventures were normally where there were no innocents. So one day we are walking down the street in a city and the local watch starts beating on someone because they bumped into him. When I announced I was rolling the enraged, there was silence. It seems the entire party had forgotten about that since it had not come up since our first adventure many years ago. By the time the fight was over with I was almost in a coma. Our rogue had a long spear through the vitals and our covert mission was no longer covert. After the mission, in game they worked on getting rid of my enraged. They succeded.
  16. In our house rules, a standard limitation on character creation is 10% of all points all the time must be spent on AK, KS, SC, Lang, PS, or contacts. This is to prevent one dimensional all combat characters.
  17. A change I would like to see in Sixth Edition. When you are dropped below zero in stun, the table you recover too should be based on a stat, be it total stun, recovery, con etc... In our campaign we use Multiples of recovery and the time chart. It makes no sense to me that a hero with a recovery of 35 that is knocked down neg 31 is at GM descretion but a hero with recovery of 10 who is neg 10 gets a recovery every phase. In our campaign we use Recovery as the stat to base timeline on. It works, we have used it for years and everyone likes. If you have a high recovery or can have your recovery "aided" then it makes the game more interesting than GM discretion. In a modern day HIghlander campaign we had a immortal on a jog. He crested the hill as a teammate fumbled a role with a fully loaded M60. By the time the dust had cleared our immortals first recovery was 5000 years later. It took a 3 month magic ritual to get his recovery high enough and 3 months of sustaining it to get him concious again. We had a fun doing the research and the ritual. In conculsion, I would like to see a change to the table and get rid of GM discretion on neg 31 stun.
  18. Thanks for the suggestions. I have not talked to GM to see what he will approve, but I will use your suggestions. Thanks
  19. I am creating a character who is a priest of magic and knowledge. I have a pretty good idea of spells that I want him to have. However, there are 3 spells that I would like that are not obvious to me how to create. Spell 1 Copy book - this allows me to make a copy of the book. The special effect is I find a book. I cast the spell it create/writes to a scoll that is unintelligbile. Later when I have enough paper the scoll dissaptes into the blank paper and a copy of the book is made. Spell 2 preserve paper - this allow to protect a document from the ravages of time and weather. Spell 3 repair paper - recover writing on a scroll or takes peices of paper that were once one piece and make them whole again. Any suggestions?
