  1. Re: Superhero Football Hell, Aunt May could be my QB if I had The Juggernaut as my fullback.
  2. Re: Superhero Football Bullseye already signed a contract to pitch for the Yankees. (Hey, money talks.)
  3. Re: Thinking Differently About SPD That's an interesting take. I never put it in those terms, but it makes a lot of sense to me. It would go to explain why the Flash in the team books has so little potential compared to solo books as well. Of course, this could create a bigger problem as characters start buying "Spotlight Time."
  4. Re: Power Assistance Please Or, if you're going the phase by phase route, simply make it Indirect, where the source of the next attack is the victim of the last attack.
  5. Re: The Rodney Dangerfield Effect Reminds me of Cassandra Syndrome, except that you say that if someone else comes up with the idea too, others will listen. How about this: Nebbish: Telepathy 10d6 (Human class of minds); No Conscious Control (No choice on who recieves the info or how much; -2), Limited Power Must achieve level where target thinks it's their own idea (-1), Broadcast Only (-1/2), Does Not Provide Mental Awareness (-1/4), Incantations ("Hey, what if we..."; -1/4)
  6. Re: A Thread for Random Musings My facial hair is getting rather large and unruly. I had hoped to get it Santa Claus big, you know, for Halloween, but the mustache is starting to interfere with eating. Considering how much I eat, that's a lot of interference! Eh, it's pro'ly not gonna work, anyway. My beard is curly, and I need it fairly straight. *sigh*
  7. Re: Need help with 'tree' superhero concept
  8. Re: Any Japanese speakers on the board? Tyotto wakarimasu. (I understand very little.) Yup, two years of Nihongo in college and that's about it.
  9. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Tonight on FOX... Johnny is tired of it all, and he's going to end his life with style. Johnny will sing the score from West Side Story from the bottom of a 30 foot pit, and as he hits the final note doors will fly open and flood the pit with 45 tons of 35% whipping cream. Be there!
  10. Re: Need help with 'tree' superhero concept Two words: Swamp Thing. Alan Moore evolved the idea way beyond anything previously imagined for the walking plant. Of course, not all of the powers and concepts will be applicable to your character, but tracing Swampy's evolution will certainly help you find your path.
  11. Re: Goofy Disadvantage / Power Ideas Words to live by. This is my new sig line!
  12. Re: Super City Anything with the phrase "Carnivorous Panda" located within automatically gets a from me. And the rest is excellent, too. Bravo!
  13. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Now that we at Microsoft own, well, everything, we have decided to do a few things with our money. First, everyone in the world gets a puppy...
  14. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Observation: Drunk adults sound a lot like sober teenagers.
  15. Re: Superman: Character to critique Ummm, did you mean Siegel and Schuster?
  16. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Announcing the new "Built-in Orderly Organized Knowledge" device, otherwise known as BOOK! It's a revolutionary breakthrough in technology: no wires, no electric circuits, no batteries, nothing to be connected or switched on. It's so easy to use even a child can operate it. Just lift its cover. Compact and portable, it can be used anywhere--even sitting in an armchair by the fire--yet it is powerful enough to hold as much information as a CD-ROM! Here's how it works: each BOOK is constructed of sequentially numbered sheets of paper (recyclable), each capable of holding thousands of bits of information. These pages are locked together with a custom-fit device called a binder which keeps the sheets in their correct sequence. By using both sides of each sheet, manufacturers are able to cut costs in half. Each sheet is scanned optically, registering information directly into your brain. A flick of the finger takes you to the next sheet. The book may be taken up at any time and used by merely opening it. The "browse" feature allows you to move instantly to any sheet, and move forward and backward as you wish. Most come with an "index" feature, which pinpoints the exact location of any selected information for instant retrieval. An optional "BOOKmark" accessory allows you to open the BOOK to the exact place you left it in a previous session--even if the BOOK has been closed. BOOKmarks fit universal design standards; thus a single BOOKmark can be used in BOOKs by various manufacturers. Portable, durable and affordable, the BOOK is expected to enjoy tremendous demand of truly historic proportions. New titles continue to appear, due to the continued popularity of its programming tool, the Portable Erasable-Nib Cryptic Intercommunication Language Stylus.
  17. Re: Need a Superhero HQ? - Try this one This is a very nice little package. The only thing i could ask for is larger floorplans, but the pdf expands nicely so I canm get most details. Nice work.
  18. Re: Special Powers in Power Frameworks I break it for my Ultra-Boy type character. He has Enhanced Senses in an Ultra Slot. I could find a case for several of these, though some like END reserve I feel should never be in one.
  19. Re: The Catholic Church's Super Team-The Virtues Ok, this team has turned out pretty cool. I have to tell you though, Hermit, that when I first read the title, the sage words of Captain Jack Sparrow came to mind... You need to find yourself a girl, mate.
  20. Re: Spiderman Vs. Firelord And so it begins...
  21. Re: Spider Man Clone I'd like to say, off topic, that seeing the words "Spider-Man" and "clone" in the same sentence still makes my sphincter twitch. Edit: Oh, btw, I love Jack in the Box.
  22. Re: Spiderman Vs. Firelord So, Batman vs. Firelord...
