  1. Just want to make sure I understand the rules here. If their is a Force wall up with X/X PD/ED, Mental powers and BoECV stuff can go right through it without damaging the wall. Correct? Thanks
  2. Re: Gravity manipulation costs? Well I always kinda thought of Gravity manipulation as a SFX for Flying or TK. You could just buy an Area of effect TK and have all kinds of fun throwing things and people around.
  3. Re: a few BoECV Questions OK that about sums it up. Thank you very much
  4. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. I was going to contest you for the pic of this guy Neil. Then I realized Red Stars vs. a Red suit would not work. So you can have him. Just be careful, there are other fishermen in the waters now. As always, Great work Storn. The form fitting, yet definate armor is the big thumbs up from me. Good stuff.
  5. Making a new character and I have some questions. How does an RKA w/BoECV work? damage vs. what defenses Is mental defense considered Resistant? What about a character without any Mental Defense? are they hosed? Could you put AP on an RKA w/BoECV? How do you break out of an Entangle w/BoECV? Thank you very much in advance, -Grey
  6. Re: PBEM - RDU: The Mavericks - Example & Discussion hehe this is funny. I Just sent Neil an E-mail trying to get him back on track. Apparently he his missing a post. The second half of Killinger spelling everything out for the Mavericks. No one else has it, so he is trying to reconstruct it. It was five years ago. He dosen't want to skip such a key post. Hopefully we'll get a response soon.
  7. Re: Money in Superheroic campaigns Resource Points are a great way to get gear. RP can be given at character creation, or as experience. I agree that wealth should be used to buy anything normal, available at Walmart. If uber Rich guy needs to buy a .22, fine. If he wants to buy modified full auto, desert Eagles with laser scopes with unlimited ammo and an anti-grav belt, you need CP or RP.
  8. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Both pics are great. Mr. Shoal could be dropped in any game, but still unique, Generic-unqiue. tough to pull off.
  9. Re: HERO System Resource Kit available again! noob question alert: What exactly did the Kit have in it? and is this a new GM helper thing? or an experienced GM added resource thing? Thanks
  10. Re: Hero Machine Thread out of curiosity what was the other program you used to make GH #1? very cool BTW
  11. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Excellent work Storn. The detail in the crystal ball is awesome. Too many artists punk out with what is being scryed. You get black swirls or what have you. Very cool. Are these specific characters or your own creations for the cover? The sorceress looks awesome. The third eye thing on her forehead makes her beg to be written up. Nice
  12. Re: Creative uses for Change Environment I made a monk-like character who had a small Change Environment: Calming/Peaceful aura. Basically it made everybody less likely to fight. (i.e. minuses to OCV) they still could fight but their heart wasn't in it.
  13. Re: Theme Super Hero Teams I like this I idea. I may have to steal it. A bunch of my friends and I are into Theatre history so this would work great. Of course they all wear masks, but that works for a superteam.
  14. Re: Theme Super Hero Teams The villian team I'm working out for my up coming DC game is based on the Greek alphabet. Sort of a Viper Organization. Higher/proven members get "lettered" Only once of each letter exists. A hero team based around music might be cool. Depending on how much musical theory is known in the group. Powers working together to form chords and such.
  15. Re: Character Writeup Request I based a character off of the picture on "Daru Cavelier" But the stats wouldn't really match the card. No summoning duplicates or anything. Just a guy with a chain sybitote.
  16. Re: An Open Call to Action Do you allow lurkers in your E-mail group? I would love to be involved but I am new to HERO and even then it has been solely RDU 4.5 Hero. So I wouldn't want to sully the discussion with a poorly informed position. However, gaming based intelectual discussions are great reads. Plus it gives Neil and I something more to discuss around the table.
  17. How much gliding does a charcater need to prevent falling damage? for example: an unconcious victim gets thrown off the Sears tower. Our hero jumps after the victim. Falling is faster then gliding, so he bee-lines it for the victim. Half way through the fall, he catches the victim and activates his glider cape. Is he then effectively safe? What if he activates the glider cape only 20 feet from the ground? Thanks,
  18. Re: Hero Machine Thread These are just some thugs/agents I created for the evil group. "You bust in the bar and see various people looking like this. Roll for init :D" Blue/purple/black are sort of their gang colors.
  19. Re: Hero Machine Thread Yeah you do good work Corven. The pink superhero you did for your daughter half-inspired this thread. Agent333: NICE COLORING! If you don't mind, I know I can find a use for him. I'm actually using horns to signify the villians that have "Earned their stripes" in the new terrorist organization. Nevereverend: That's quite a team you've got there. I really like Umbra. Good use of the stretchy arm. Sigh, I really should make a group shot. But all of mine are sporatic, no groups to lump together.
  20. Re: Hero Machine Thread This is the HM version of a villian I can't wait to inflict in my DC game. I've commisioned Storn for a better version. The comparision of the two should be cool. Let me know what you think.
  21. Re: PC Character fiction: Shadows Of Things Past Really nice character background. Most of mine focus on the character going through stuff. Yours focused on her father and his troubles. Her anger/purpose came from his problems not hers. It was a nice point of view. I think I'll try it. You have a nice writing style. Have you written more then the background? I'd be interested in reading about the character. Sorry I can't be more helpful. I'm not the best critic. All I can say is, it was an interesting read. The jumping around of the timeline wasn't bad. I prefer are more direct line but the story spanned years. So some time skipping is expected. good stuff.
  22. Re: Hero Machine Thread That's a nice group you got there Agent333. Now we need the joes to match. I am inept at third party software. How did you reverse the fourth one in?
  23. Re: PBEM - RDU: The Mavericks - Example & Discussion ahh I love players. "My guy is faster, no MY guy is faster" grrrrr. I forget if I had mentioned it before, but Bill's written accent is great. I have to read it out loud. Definately puts flavor in his character with every sentence. Not to mention the difference between Real Life Bill and Impetus. True roleplaying.
  24. Re: Hero Machine Thread This is Roberto Romero. Gypsy, jester, general comic relief character that I am really looking forward to play when I get home. I know his eyebrow shouldn't techincally go over his hat but it fits his cartoonish feel. He's designed for a fairy tale/Fantasy HERO game. It's called Terra Fey. There a cool post about it on the Fantasy boards.
