Basicly, the question is this: In the digital age where paper is getting extremly expensive, and would-be role players would rather have a joystick in the hand than a pencel and a fist full of D6es, how can any of us old-timers atractnew gamers? How can Hero Games make such things easyer for us to do so? I realy do not think Champions Online is working as a 'you played the video game, now play the real thing' way. To joystick jockies, it is the real thing and 'Champions Offline' is fake.

  8. Re: Monstrous Character This charater would make a decent villian. Even in an Iron Age Champions campain, she woulden't be a 'hero' (you know...sacrofices self to help others). On the other hand, 'dark heros' are a staple in comic books...heros who chose to do the right thing in spite of what there nature tells them to do. A great example would be The Demon (from DC). Spawn also counts, kinda. As does Ghost Rider. The Punisher does not count as a 'dark hero' (he, at the best, is a vigalantie, and at worse a villian who preys on villians).

You posted it on the Champions bord, but the charater dosen't realy seem like your standard comic book superheroish charater. I have to agree to use Transformation as opose to Drain as the effect (Drain always comes back, while Transformation may not, depending on what the Game Master says...and from the sounds of the charater, your the Game Master).

Thanks for the link...I reserve the rights to add new versions of attacks I missed in this version (like Air Grab And Throw).

  16. Re: Support HERO Indirectly... Humm...my problem with the ideal of a one page Champions adventure is how do we do writeups shorthand? It was extremly posable in Champions 1-3, but in Hero 6ed, I had to work hard to give my first charater writeup of it. Doctor Dair, enougth points for a 400+75 point starting villian. I shutter at how I can shorthand my Queen Nightmara writeup. Which reminds me, I got to post her evil grace before she disintergates me.

Re: Video Game Martial Arts (Coments Welcomed) Position Shift is for 2D fighting charaters who have a limited 'dodge' ability (I'm looking at you, Fatal Fury and Samuri Showdown) and charaters with a limited dodge (looking at you, Cody Travis from Street Fighter Alpha 3/Street Fighter 4). It could also repersent the dodge ability of 3D fighters also. Normaly, 2D fighter charaters can not dodge (no eveyman dodge for them). 3D fighters can dodge. Prehaps a complication that thay have problems when it is not a one-on-one fight?

Right now I have HERO System Basic Rulebook, APG 1 and 2, and HERO System Martial Arts. What I am planing on writing is a 'magical girl' style Champions adventure, and an soursebook on the original org Orochi. Chances are, I'll be sumiting the same 'to do list' in 2013.   21. Re: Monstrous Character Well, there are the vareous types of Vampiers (thay feed mostly on blood, but blood is symbolic to life force). No, Vampiers do not need to be 'undead'. Also some other monsters also feed on blood (in the japanies mythos, Kappa are omivors which feed on blood and cucumbers). Also some alien races in fiction also feed on blood ("space vampiers", othoe non of them are undead). Just replace 'blood' with 'life force' and your good to go. Well, it depends. Does he look human most of the time and only 'changes' to his true form to feed? That sounds like being 'human looking' is his main shape and his 'monster form' a shape-shift. There are many ways to simulate such abilities, including Multiform and the power Limitation Only In Alternitive Idenity (OIAID). Depends on what you want and the feal of what your trying to do to see which way is 'right'. You forgot Standard Effect: Amount on Aid equal to amount on Drain (so you roll only one set of dice, not two, for the effect). Humm...the BODY Drain looks right. Normaly something like that is bought as an Attack Versus Alternate Defence, with the "No Normal Defence" option (Defence is not being a living thing with a life force, which is one step up from "Power Defence in the AVLD table, +1/2 Advantage, -1/2 for it being No Normal Defence for a whoping +0 advantage). Do not forget that for any AVLD attack to do BODY (even Drain) it needs the +1 power Advantage Does BODY. The publisher can always ask me to put a page of 'using this product with the Champions Universe' at a later date. (I wonder how the writer of Foxbat For Presadent got away with it...?)

The Members of the court are: Queen Nightmara: An evil magical queen who 'feeds' on dark emotions. Monsterin: A sentient flying cloak and staff who creates monsters ("Nightmarens") for it's queen. Lady Sorrow: Formaly Lady Joy. Murdered and reincarnated as Lady Sorrow by Queen Nightmara. Uses 'saddness' magic. Lady Pain: Formaly Lady Health before being murdered and reincarnated as Lady Pain. Uses 'pain' magic. Lady Fear: Formerly Lady Braverty till murdered and reincarnated. Uses 'fear' magic. Lady Anger: Formerly Lady Tranquility. Uses 'anger' magic. Sample Nightmaren (or two). The ideal is to do a homage to japanes magical girl anime/manga without loosing the american superhero feal.
