  1. I'm getting ready to GM a Terran Empire campaign. Now I have enough experience as a GM to feel comfortable with my ability to create exciting adventures and memorable foes. What I'm worried about is my ability convey the details of a believable far future setting. I've never tried to GM a campaign that was set far in the future before. I'm wondering what other GMs have done (or would do) to make Terran Empire campaigns seem real to their players. How do you present the everyday life of citizens in the 27th century? What details of present times have you decided to keep in your campa
  2. I've given this one some thought Healing bought to 0 END Transform Sick person to Healthy Person Transform Dirt to Food Transform Air to Water Flight with Large Non-Combat Multiplier High Resistent Defences I know that this must seem revoltingly goody two shoes. If the big GM in the sky offered me 350 pts and I spent them another way, I would be consumed by guilt every time I looked at a newspaper or watched the news.
  3. Superhero can be devided into two types - local heroes and global heroes. Global heroes tend to keep their eyes on the big picture and not try to catch every single crook or even murderer. Local heroes do go after non-super murders and often have good detective skill, powers and or contacts to help them solve mysteries. Because local heroes will concern themselves with serial killers, one would have a hard time making it in Gotham if they are not as resourceful as the Joker. Therefore, if you would like to do an adventure with an established Joe Serialkiller you need to take the action
  4. Uhh Thirdbase, by villian do you mean bad guy or bad person? Because no one has mentioned any chicks. Some of them are worth mentioning if bad person is what you meant. HarleyQuin - A playful and cheerfully amoral character unlike any other in comics or all of fiction to my knowledge. PoisonIvy- Well, you've got to admit that as a speciecs we have been awfully cruel to the flora of our planet. The arguement for this is even stronger when coming from an incrediably sexy and lethal femme. Mystique- Intelligent, sexy, ruthless. When she takes on the X-Men she is always out powered
  5. It looks like I killed this thread when I posted 3 days ago. I do that a lot:o Sorry. Please continue with the thread as thosugh I had never posted.
  6. Re: Avatars: The -other- Patriots Just to ignore the rest of your post and focus annoyingly on a single thing you brought up - Dadaism. The Champions campaign book mentions in passing the avatar of dadaism Avant Guard. Has anyone out there given any thought to writing up this intriguing character? If so, please share. I don't think that my boringly linear mind is up to the task and am interested in other peoples ideas.
  7. At the wisk of sounding corny, I think she sould aquire the soul of a herioc NPC who is dying but for one reason or another needs to stay on this side of the veil of tears. Magic can play a role, but basically it should just be the special effect of a "radiation accident". I don't think something like creation of a soul is something that could be done with a buyable power. Once you define it with character points, it is only a matter of ti,me before a player finds someway to co-opt the power and abuse it.
  8. I would just like to post a general agreement with CPaladino. I bought DC hoping for a lot of 250 pt villians because that is where I had my characters start off at and where I felt most comfortable with with the players vs. normals. It ade them clearly super but not so much more powerful than normals thta they could afford to ignore them. Unfortunately, even though it was the recommended starting point in grey book Champions, few of the characters in the enemy books were even close to that few points. Consequently I was really hoping that DC would correct that shortage. So you
  9. Re: My take on Hermit's question Bakersfield's hometown hero Roughneck has to remain in the community. His parole officer will not let him leave. It is a long story involving a lot of beer.

OK, some more that I would like to add. A couple of them may have problems with the silly filter, but they are both real though somewhat lighthearted characters. Boss Nova - one guess concerning his favorite type of music Briar Rose Corvette- mine is named after the type of car not the warship, but that would be good also Satori- means sudden enlightenment Street Demon

  14. Vin Diesel What can I say? I really liked the bald Captain America from the Universe X series.
  15. I don't know about Betazoids but I would handle Vulcans something like this: 25 Multipower (50 active pts), Concentration (0 DCV) -1/2, Reduced by Range -1/4, Subject to Range Modifiers -1/4 2 u -10d6 Telepathy 2 u -10d6 Mind Control 2 u -10d6 Mental Illusions Total = 31 points This would be for an adult Vulcan with full training. Masters would have 60 or even 70 active pts in their multipower and possibly additional slots. Some stories that I've read seemed to indicate that many and possibly most Vulcans have not taken the time to fully train their minds psio
  16. General skills like biology can with a penalty be used in place of specific skills like genetics. You should buy every general skill that you can think and then buy either five 8-pt skill levels for all skills or 5 overall skill levels. This is how I did it with a character that I made named "Renaissance" ( to whoever mentioned their character "Renaissance Man", what can I say, warped minds think alike). Note: "Renaissanse" is primarily a solo character. No one character in a team setting should be able to declare themselves the solver of all skill realted problems unless all the other
