  2. Re: Complicate the Person Above Death Tribble knows too much about my exploits.
  3. Re: Converting RIFTS to HERO Same here (good old geometric progression, eh?), but DN is more granular, so why limit one's campaign to just 6-8 DN? I also think that Mega Damage weapons should vary because I find it patently ridiculous that a laser pistol or a vibro knife can lay waste to a tank in mere seconds. Reduced Negation is probably better there.
  4. Re: Complicate the Person Above One of Death Tribble's fondest childhood memories was bodyslamming a mountain giant in front of 93,000 angry orcs in the Thunderdome.
  5. Re: Why would I want an Accurate AoE? No argument here; I was just clarifying a particular aspect of the AoE Advantage and I think that you just helped clarify the true usage of Accurate to go along with it.
  6. Re: Why would I want an Accurate AoE? This discussion about AoE is fascinating and all, but the "hit DCV 3" is misunderstood. Read 6E2 40 (or 5e Combat Handbook page 41 - I forget where it's at in 5er and I don't have it on hand) if you disbelieve me. You only roll against DCV 3 (or 0 if adjacent) when you attack the space where your target stands. Otherwise, you must beat your target's DCV. This distinction is admittedly more important in 3D combat than 2D, but it makes Selective and Accurate make far more sense in context when you realize that.

  11. Re: What's your favorite Hero Designer Export format? Here they are. Also I got a look at your "Simple Heroic" Format, mudpyr8, and I like it. We obviously think alike when it comes to displaying character costs. My "No Costs" version's only weaknesses with not displaying costs are the Wealth Perk and Multipower slots though, due to the HTML format. The only way around that is with minor Custom Adders or Notes, but that feels too much like a cop out to me.
  12. Re: House Rules Your first point taught me something new and your second point compounds the differences.
  13. Re: House Rules What's this about favoring Resistant Protection over the Resistant Power Advantage? Resistant Protection isn't just PD/ED with the Resistant Power Advantage. First, one's a Power, while the other's a Characteristic that can be bought as a Power. Thus, they are adjusted as distinctly different mechanics. Second, you can Dispel Powers but not Characteristics. Third, all defenses bought through Resistant Protection count as a single power (again, a double edged sword when it comes to Adjustment powers). Fourth, Resistance is part of RP's base cost, so adding Power Advantages is technically cheaper with individual, nonresistant defenses. Or did I miss something else?
  14. Re: DnD 3.5 to HERO 5e Conversion Ought to be a 6e update project for that.
  15. Re: Complicate the Person Above Death Tribble will tell you interesting stories about his night out with Boy George in South Compton in 1987 if you can get him drunk.
  16. Re: "Neat" Pictures I also would love to see that Ghostbusters. It would probably not be a comedy though. The Nightmare On Elm Street one also particularly intrigued me, amongst others.
  17. Re: House Rules Here's one I use: Blocking does not stop the effects of the Penetrating Power Advantage.
  18. Re: Complicate the Person Above It's turns out that this city was actually built on Death Tribble.

  20. Re: What's your favorite Hero Designer Export format? I'll be lame and say, "mine." Naturally I can't post the latest versions of my handiwork for looking at right now. I would like to check out this "Simple Heroic" template when I have the chance though. I will say that I made two versions of each of my templates, one with costs, the other without for players (or even GMs like myself) who think that costs detract from the feel of a game. Multipowers and the Wealth Perk are their only weaknesses.
