  1. She's pretty cool! Powers are somewhat similar to Poison Ivy's, the added ability to teleport between plants is neat and useful for infiltration. With that vulnerability, your campaign needs a villain called Agent Orange.
  2. We're through being cool We're through being cool Eliminate the ninnies and the twits Going to bang some heads Going to beat some butts Time to show those evil spuds what's what If you live in a small town You might meet a dozen or two Young alien types who step out And dare to declare: We're through being cool We're through being cool
  3. If you go by pennies per page, the $100 level makes us veritable skinflints!
  4. I think with Kickstarter, they don't actually charge your card until the fundraising period ends. So, you should have 30+ days to save up or replenish your funds. $100 sounds good to me, too! So glad full-color is a stretch goal.
  5. I see we're being teased with stretch goals (in the latest designer diary) weeks before the Kickstarter opens. That, sir, is EVVIIIIILL, with a capital E . . . !
  6. I like the Joker's spring-loaded gag teeth. And you have to show us the poster!
  7. That is interesting stuff! Not sure whether to be envious or sympathetic. A bit like the old saw about the sculptor and the elephant: 1) take a massive ZIP file 2) knock off everything that doesn't look like Strike Force! Thanks for the inside peak and count me in on the KS.
  8. Oooh, that is a strong case for catching up on Digital Hero. $2 each in the bundle deals. Hmmm.. . .
  9. No, no, you have it wrong! You have to get Lady Pariah's friends and other females into the voting pool. Then, the hunks and pretty boys will start to dominate.
  10. Gods and Monsters was well-done, but a little dark for my tastes. It seemed to get a little political, also, with Clark raised by Mexican illegal immigrants.
  11. IIRC, Book of the Machine has a short section describing alternate realities in which Mechanon emerged triumphant, etc. There is also the 'Crisis' style adventure Reality Storm (Champions U. vs. the Silver Age Sentinels). Both are still available in the store! A dedicated supplement describing the multiverse in detail would be nice, though. I've always thought a campaign with a dimension-hopping theme would be fun (kinda like the old show Sliders, but hopefully cooler!)
  12. I see the project has hit the front page! I know I can't be the only one drooling at the prospect of a full-color hardback. . ..
  13. That's an interesting variation on the theme! When I was growing up, one of my favorite episodes of the old Spidey cartoon featured the villain Swarm. He didn't even have any dialogue - he would just say "Swarm. SWARM!" and laugh maniacally. But that made him more alien and menacing. Plus he turned poor old Aunt May into a bee person! One more and then a new theme.
  14. Ok, I'll start: Urtica is Ursa Ellinwood; a pet shop owner who sold and cared for exotic animals. One day on a dare, she decided to cook and eat a S. American tarantula. Suprisingly tasty, over the next few days the skin over her entire body began to mutate and produce hundreds of long, sharp bristles. She is able to eject them with surprising, armor-piercing force; the toxic tips can result in uncontrollable itching, paralysis or blindness. Combined with superhuman strength and short bursts of meta-speed; she has now embarked on a life of crime as a founding member of The Invertebrates.
  15. That would be an interesting theme! But (assuming the team is set in the Golden Age) I don't believe FedEx or UPS existed yet. IMO, you would definitely need a Radiowave type member; maybe someone called Newsreel?
  16. Quazy Quisp is small, purple and strange. Nobody knows exactly what he is or what planet he's from but he evidently crashed his craft near Mudroot. He can alter his form into shapes such as beach balls and mailboxes; however they are always bright purple with a smiley face and thus the disguise rarely lasts very long. When annoyed, he draws his laser blaster. Occasionally, he does give out free comic books. . starring himself! *** Next Team: The Invertebrates. Insect and spider themes would work obviously, but so would worms, jellyfish, sea sponges and other oddities in the animal kingdom. No plants! Six members.
  17. Every Golden Age patriot needs a sidekick. For US Male maybe. . . Joanie Express?
  18. That's perfect! It they're already dead, Kirk would feel absolutely no compunction with sending them to check behind that rock. Not that he ever did. . .
  19. I have to ask, will there be a HYDRA analog that they fight? A global criminal organization with Ratzi roots?
  20. My week: Two-day business trip to Baltimore + lack of sleep in strange bed + whirlwind tour of every frickin' elementary school and community center in the city + cramped flight cabin, turbulence and sinus pressure + mental stress of catching up on work when I get back + additional mental stress of bailing out a friend about to have her car repossessed = a cold, and a weekend evidently going to be spent recovering at home. Now that I see the complete formula, the result makes sense.
  21. Give us your poor, your huddled snake-heads, yearning to be free! IMHO, Version 3 pushes things a little too far and I think V2 is the best compromise between Old World and New World. Crossbow guy could be her nemesis, the Gorgon-Hunter.
  22. Queen's Bishop is Mike Mendelson. A slight, professorial figure, he can channel the power of gravity to become utterly immovable - shrugging off all known physical or energy attacks. However, this ability only works when he is in direct contact with the ground. Occasionally, heroes have defeated him by tricking him into jumping or entering enough water to sever the connection (or 'dark-squared' as his teammates sometimes refer to it). He wears monastic robes and carries a shock-staff to provide him with some offensive punch - on rare occasions, he will wear his namesake's mitre!
  23. I really like Medusa - she's cute! You could even have a whole league of mythological beasties as do-gooders (we never hear their side of the stories, just that drunken lout Hercules'). I don't play M&M, but admit to sometimes buying their books just to look at the art. Cosmic is definitely on my radar - awesome!
  24. Exactly! If nothing else, badguy teams would have endless fun with villainous monologues explaining exactly how pathetic their opposition is - perhaps even bringing up embarrassing moments from the past. Make sure all those smug, self-satisfied heroes have feet of clay, I say! Edit: Black Adam actually had a winning record in Season 3 and did respectably in the popular vote. Of course, he's sometimes portrayed as an anti-hero who occasionally helps the Marvel family.
  25. I was just an observer this time 'round, but I do like REC/END overall. With trivia, I often didn't know the things I thought I knew, and with categories like Friends I was at a complete loss! It might be nice to have teams with losing records get a slight boost to REC - sort of a golf handicap so that cellar dwellers (i.e. me) have a chance to climb out of the cellar! I'm actually thinking of a villainous team, too, since there are so many characters we've never seen before and it's fun to be 'bad'. But we would be kissing our chances goodbye - they just don't win the popular vote. We've seen powerhouses like Magneto, Doctor Doom and Black Adam go down to defeat time and again (I think Juggernaut had a winning record, though).
