Sorry, I stopped reading when the writer spewed "DC Comics has been in dire straits due to its SJW and woke agenda"...

It's really amazing, I spent decades sympathizing with Cleveland and its fans and hoping that they would succeed, and that all vanished in an instant.  Poof!  Now I look forward to more decades of futility from them.

I refuse to stand by past political precedent, and the results of polling (which show increasing favor for Dems in the midterms, just FYI). This is not politics as usual, the situation is unprecedented, so much can happen between now and November, and the prognosticators have frequently been wrong in recent years. Don't give in to fatalism, Americans! Get out and vote for what's right, for all our sakes. Show the world that government of the people, by the people, and for the people, isn't a dead dream yet.

Not quite sure I follow the logic fully.  I can semi-understand (though don't endorse the argument) that the requirement to pay child support may make some men pressure woman to have abortions.

However, if men *aren't* required to pay child support for the children for whom they were sperm donors, then wouldn't that be more of an impetus for women to *want* to have an abortion, rather than having a high likelihood of living in poverty?

Well, consider the optics as follows:

A player places a couple of parlay bets and get suspended for a full season.

Another more famous, more visible player has two dozen lawsuits for sexual misconduct and gets a six game suspension.

Twenty-four incidents, six games. That's one quarter per incident. That's a 15 minute unpaid timeout for each action that resulted in a lawsuit and a hush-hush settlement.

With those optics in mind, I don't think the league had any choice but to appeal the suspension. Otherwise, they come across as soft on misconduct towards women.

There are plenty of non superhero movies being made. His problem is that the superhero movies are getting a wider audience. Boo freaking hoo. People have options, just because they aren't exercising him in the way he wants doesn't mean they aren't there. We have an embarrassment of riches to watch of everything these days both in the theater and via streaming. Small art house films have a bigger potential to reach people than they ever have before, for example, whether through word getting out about limited screenings, or going to streaming. But he isn't concerned with quality getting seen. He's crying over split milk because his type of populist trash isn't the current vogue in populist trash.  Yawn.

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

As someone who works for local government, I am very much in favor of this. I did not want to work for a recent federal administration, even indirectly, and as a subsidiary of State government there is an indispensable partitioning that exists between the Feds and local government.

Federal government does some things well, some things poorly, and a number of things not at all. Same for State, Local and Private Sector entities. I prefer most decisions occur locally in government, with appropriate oversight from State and Federal entities to ensure no shenanigans occur.

So at what point should we start comparing the violence in our society to be comparable to the acts in the Middle East?  ie- the bombings, shootings, and so on?  That is, 'failed state' level violence?

I desperately want to believe this. But the cultists are disproportionately loud, and they are remarkably effective in spreading their message, so it sure doesn't feel like there are more of us that are sane.

"Never" is unsustainably long. In my lifetime, we were never going to eliminate smoking in public places. We were never going to cut down drinking and driving, or get people to wear seatbelts. We were never going to make industry stop polluting. We were never going to end school segregation. Those things changed -- not disappeared, but became far less common, and broadly disapproved of -- because the majority of people came around to accepting that they were the right things to do. And that didn't happen because of legislation, the legislation happened because people wanted it.

Poll after poll shows that a majority of Americans favor stronger gun control, more affordable health care and higher education, more aggressive measures to combat global warming and develop alternative energy, more social inclusivity. Absolutely, there are areas where resistance to those things dominates, and there are influential groups with a vested interest in avoiding those changes. But even in industry we're seeing a change in attitudes and practices, because they recognize that's what their customers want, and that's how they'll make money.

There are more progressives than regressives in America now. Eventually the regressives will lose. They're fighting so hard to subvert the system and cling to power precisely because they recognize they're losing. Granted, they have the potential to cause enormous harm in the interim, but they're fighting the rising tide. Over a long enough time line, progress wins.

9 seasons with 1000+ yards, tho.  4.3 yards per rush for the overall career.  #5 ALL TIME in career combined yards...just missed 20,000.  #4 if counting scrimmage yards only...behind 3 guys named Jerry, Walter, and Emmitt.  Surpassed Faulk and Tim Brown.  NOTE:  all 5 of those are in.

Leading the league in yards or TDs is much too narrow and situational.  Sometimes there's a single player with a gonzo season;  TDs depend on overall team weapons and style.  16,000 yards in *today's* NFL.  Gore was the active leader;  Peterson at just under 15K is second.  The drop-off...Mark Ingram is 3rd with just under 7900.

Running backs whose careers started in 2000 or later, who reach even 10,000 yards, are rare.

So...OK, I'll change my stance.  Yeah, first ballot.  Too consistent for too long to be anything else.
