  1. She came to me, in a dream Electrical, blues and greens Against a dusk, tea rose sky On a Chelsea morning She made me smile (chorus) Be a believer Be a believer And I’ll be all that I can Be a believer Be a believer More that just a lover She’s my friend (bridge) Denny is sunshine Denny is rain Denny takes my loneliness In ways I can’t explain What it is she sees This craziness in me That keeps Denny on my mind, mind, mind That keeps Denny on my mind (chorus) Of all the things that I could be That I have never been They don’t mean as much to me As they did once back then I spent my life chasing dreams To watch them fade away Now I’ll just live my life Enjoying every day (chorus)
  2. That’s HOW cool he was...as a matter of fact, back then he was Johnny Cougar. Like Johnny Bravo but with claws. (the Greg Brady version, not the animated)
  3. That picture is so old that he might have still been John Cougar.
  4. I’m gonna go with what I’m good at....Filth & Disease! It strikes me that in all religions fake or not, your praying to, for or about something you either want or want to emulate. But nobody “wants” filth & disease. (From this point on I’m just going to refer to them as “F&D”) If you want a substitute for a God of Evil in your campaign you need to think what such a being brings to/for the worshipper. You could possibly have a Culthulu type who does the same things. “Great Scary Goober in the sky, I know you’re going to come and reign down death and destruction upon the whole world, but in the meantime can I have a job? “And if you could turn my cousin Bob into a newt that would be really great too, Amen” You could make the Priests of Goober a scary bunch just by referencing all that Call of Culthulu type stuff that’s already out there. I may be sounding too flip to be taken seriously, but I really mean that you have access to a wonderful assortment of terrifying source material at your fingertips so don’t beat yourself up trying to reinvent the wheel. Best of luck on your game.
  5. “One of us!” “One of us!” “Gooba-Gabba!” “Gooba-Gabba!” Welcome, I hope you find a game and meet a lot of great people like I did back in the day. Till then drag up a chair and tell us what kind of a character you would like to do? My suggestion for new players is to try and do a version of your favorite comics character. It makes understanding how the powers work easier and it gives you a decent handle on role playing the personality if you’re new at it.
  6. It’s the big crossover episode episode with Freakazoid! Special guest voice actor Jim Carrey.
  7. OK, this is my own fault. Really stupid people are like Rubik’s Cube’s for me. I have to understand where their logic train went off the track, plowed into a bunch of homes and killed 47 people and a dog. It’s it that he doesn’t “get” Star Trek in general, Amnesty International as an organization or sitting the F down and shutting the F up? If it’s the last one I can help with the instruction. I’ll need a car battery, some wire, a pair of nipple clamps and a rolled up copy of the Yellow pages. Just offering to help.
  8. Go ahead, finish that thing...I dare ‘ya!
  9. I’m into the audiobook for Soon I will be Invincible by Austin Grossman. I read it several times before and can’t recommend it enough. Set in a Superhero world it’s the braided viewpoints of a newbie hero and a veteran villain. Great stuff, a nice modern read on the characters with the right amount of respect for their Silver Age style. Give it a try.
  10. Interesting group, where did the original come from?
  11. Sit him down make him watch the episode, and if he gets smartassed about it you can tell him that that episode had a consultant from Amnesty International and to StFD &StFU.
  12. Hey, Rocky! Wanna watch me pull a rabbit outta my hat? Yeah, it’s stupid, but it made me smile.
  13. Preach on Brother Colbert!! Smack the smirk of that little bitch’s face with three chords, Captain America’s shield and the truth!!
  14. I remember that. It was about style rather than an actual recreation. Doing VIPER as buffoons and the PC’s as the merry tricksters. I never liked that myself, I liked having my players break into a cold sweat when “the snakes” showed up. Your mileage may vary.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to rain on your parade. I just thought I could save you some steps. Best of luck on the venture.

There may be a copy of the Circle/M.E.T.E sourcebook for sale online for a reasonable price. Even if the write-ups are out of date the more important background material would still be helpful. Or the Trove. com. may have it for someone to read.

    Hero's Resource

No offense but they already exist. The Champions as the Avengers/JLA group. The Circle as the preeminent magical defenders. Both of whom can be found in the Strike Force sourcebook. And either Strike Force itself or The Protectors from the To Protect and Serve sourcebook. I tend to suggest the Strike Force book as the best GM’s resource available for any type of role playing game. It has not only a lot of useful Hero Games material but Aaron Allston did a marvelous job of recounting how to run a game over a long time and still make it fun for the player and the GM. A new edition can be found for sale on this website. I don’t make a dime off it but I consider it a good investment and a good read.
  18. By those criteria I think Schultz would be more of a GM’s NPC rather than either a straight up ally or enemy. ( I happened to kill a good chunk of yesterday flipping channels back and forth from the weekly marathon on the Sundance channel.) In one episode he’s in Paris with Hogan and LeBeau dressed as a general to help get a rare painting copied and in the next he’s frustrating the Heroes because they can’t get some information out of him about the location of an atomic research lab. He not really a threat to their operations, but he’s also not a reliable asset.
  19. That’s true but there are different versions like, “Tai-Chi for Seniors”, “Tai-Chi for Cardiac Patients” and so on. Maybe it’s an affront to serious martial arts enthusiasts but it also may be what’s most useful here. Also, when practiced properly Qi Gong is a religion (For lack of a better term) and that doesn’t seem to bother you.
  20. I think he’d rather be sentenced to THE COMFY CHAIR!!!!!!
  21. A lot of people have good things to say about Tai-Chi. Low impact, easy on the joints, builds strength and flexibility. Also there’s a lot of versions for different types of health problems. Good luck.
  22. That was not opposition, blunt or otherwise. I was however asking if a player had thought out all the possible downsides to effecting a major change in their campaign without taking the GM or other players into consideration. If one player decides unilaterally that they want to buy a tavern and from now on every episode has to take place in and around that location, they effectively change the game for everyone. Panpiper’s original post doesn’t say whether they’re the GM or just another player. Or if this is an ongoing game or one in the planning stages. If they’re the GM then they certainly have a major say in these decisions but even so they should be discussed with the others in the gaming group.
  23. In order to understand that type of thinking, it helps to be a frakking idiot. Your just too smart for the problem.
  24. My question is why do you want this? Is it for some role-play reason? Something like this can dead end a character if you’re not careful. All of a sudden every episode has to be based in and around your village. The days of riding across the open world are done. How does your GM feel about this. How do the other players? This can end up as “OK Spartacus, you stay here and collect the taxes and send those reports to the local Lord while we journey across the forbidden mountains and battle the Orc army massing there, buh-bye!
