The Syndicate. A popular term used in ‘70’s TV shows when Anti Italian-American Defamation groups protested the used of the term Mafia.

A German shepherd, a Doberman, and a cat die and find themselves facing God, who asks what they believe in.
The German shepherds says "I believe in discipline, training, and loyalty to my master."
God says "Very good, come sit at my right side. Doberman, what do you believe?"
The Doberman says "I believe in love, care, and protection of my master."
God says "Very good, come sit at my left side. Cat, what do you believe?"
The Cat answers "I believe you are sitting in my seat."

Me: I bought a gun because of my bird phobia.
Therapist: You might be getting carried away.
Me: *firing into the ceiling* Not without a fight!

Did you ever stop to realize that you may be the only women on this entire site? Don’t take me wrong, I’m glad there’s somebody here to represent. But you’re kind of like the Wendy to our Lost Boys. Thank you very much for putting up with our uncouth a$$es.

It's right there on the cover--Hard Boiled Detective. That means he knows how to handle a gun--any gun. Even Sam Spade, as I recall, had a couple of guns, even if he didn't carry. He "didn't like 'em."

Nah, Doom would never have fallen for the BS that Anakin got from Palpatine. He might've gone Dark Side but he'd have grabbed Amidala, ignored his Jedi duties and struck out to carve his own path.

Me, to the hubby when he says I'm beautiful: I wish I could see myself through your eyes...
Seriously, decades of gaslighting by toxic folk and low self-esteem can do a number on how we view ourselves. To the point that when someone does offer a genuine compliment, our brains can't accept it.

The answer is either “nothing” that they don’t understand and believe is a lie to cover up something else. Or you actually tell them that you’re trying to remember how many in how many Three Stooges shorts did Moe dress up like Hitler. That one they believe but it pisses them off. The third option is when we’re thinking of filthy stuff we’d NEVER admit to. We are all deviants.

I can't speak for anyone but me, but the reason I hate it from a woman is that when a man asks and I say "nothing," they get it immediately, while I have yet to meet the woman (including my wife) who fully understands that I-- and I have always assumed but may be wrong-- and other men can and occasionally do, just to recharge for a few minutes-- turn my brain completely _off_ for a while. No thinking; no data processing; only the barest of sensory inputs at the "if you smell fire or see violence, turn back on" level.

Tjack got a reaction from Ockham's Spoon in Xianxia Game - Innate Difference in Power between Character Power Ranking
This might be achieved by “taxing” Experience Points. Let the players know that a percentage of their points will be withheld until they achieve their next level. This would give you the effect of slow progress until they reach that plateau and then a burst of new powers, skills and abilities.
I might think about 50 -75% being held back. This would still mean the players had a trickle of points coming in to keep them from being discouraged but since they’ll get them back on the back end they might not raise too much of a fuss.
Whatever happens, Good Luck.
