  1. Re: What Champions Books Would You Like Published in the Future? 1. The Conquerors - adventure supplement with an updated team. Neutron and his, ahem, brotherhood of mutants. 2. I would pay big money for a real comicbook set in the Champions U. Champions vs CKC villains. In the margins or page opposite, would be notes and combat particulars. Please oh please oh please.
  2. Re: Villain Summary Charts/Tables In Books I use the one in CKC occasionally and am happy it is there. For campaign planning purposes I like running CU statistics to better gauge averages, specially DEX and PD/ED.
  3. Re: Comics are getting too steamy... I always suspected Wolverine had some irregularity issues.

  5. Howdy all. I was curious if anyone ever affixed some perception modifier to your characters for specific powers. For instance, jetpacks with enough thrust to propel a person or having a sonic blast capable of melting metal. Powers like these should be able to be heard from far away; farther than, say, an ice-blast when used. You can buy all the Stealth you want and disable the alarm, but if you use your sonic scream to melt the bank vault, SOMEONE is going to call the cops. Anyone?
  6. Re: If You Draw It...They Will Come I colored the Doc Power pic by using Stamp Tool. The silver/blue parts were made using a photo of some silver bowls. The highlights were colored blue to make it more metallic. The gaunlets and such were taken from a pic of gold bars. I tried to make it look like they were reflecting the fire but I didn't think I had accomplished that. Thanks! I used the Burn tool around the original lineart lines for shading.

  8. Re: If You Draw It...They Will Come Good job, Cybertooth. Once again I am jealous of my fellow board members' mad drawing skills. All I can do is color in the lines. Hope you don't mind, but I was inspired...

    columbia!

    Re: columbia! Too late!!
  10. Re: Deathstroke Thanks for the link. I finally broke down and bought Hero Designer (yay me) so the new writeups are that much sweeter. So, then, where is Death Commando? Please oh please. In our old campaign we had two major supervillain groups: Deathstroke and The Conquerors. Both served their functions well. Deathstroke were the clear black & white bad guys. The Conquerors were the sympathetic "Brotherhood of Mutants" group. My PC's new them, some socially. They had their agenda which was clearly different from my PC's, but they were not clearly evil and were dealt with much more carefully. The Conquerors and Deathstroke eventually met. Neutron did bad things to Death Commando, teaching him not to wear a grenade belt with a powerful telekenetic on your tail. Good times.
  11. Re: Robotic Constructs A good question. On the old boards, I once asked at what point does a robot trigger a Code vs Killing?
  12. Re: Battle of Detroit I think TheEmerged should take a week's vacation and run this scenario. While we're at it, I want the person who plays FireFrost in Shikarr's campaign to write it up, damn that's a fine read.
  13. Has anyone here had the sadistic notion to actually run the Battle of Detroit? If so, was Dr D alone or did you include the destroids, Grond, Glacier etc?
  14. Let go. Ok ok, I'll let this thread die but I can't help but notice the "Delete me please" thread has 15 replies.
  15. Re: Change Environment: a dangerous weapon Does anyone else play (or play with) a weather controller whose powers caused problems or caused resentment with the public/authorities? Chiller (Deathstroke, 4th ed) had a Change Environment extreme cold, always on. That sucks. Weather is such a chain-reaction thing. A little localized warming here can cause flooding and snow there. Big fun!

  18. I’ve been thinking lately about our old friend Change Environment. In games past, CE has been more of a nuisance power or at best just a flavor-enhancer for combat vs elemental characters. Fred changed things a bit when CE was made the power of choice for making ice-slides, fog and other things that were before just special effects for existing powers. This year we had an uncharacteristically nasty winter in Cincinnati. We usually get a couple days of bad weather a year but they often go away as quick as they came. This year was different and gave me a little more respect for our Environment-Changing friends and foes. Ice slides. I hate them. In game terms, it is often merely a -4 DCV or Dex roll. Most of the characters I make have lower Dexterities than the average CKC character. My driveway has been subject to this Changed Environment for most of the last two months. I boffed a Dex roll myself (3 sixes, baby!) once while taking out the garbage. I ended up prone in my starting hex, half DCV. The evil GM made me do another Dex roll to get up which, thankfully, I made. Thankfully, I rolled a very rare snake-eyes on my Unluck roll and the lids stayed on the garbage cans. Cincinnatians in general are not very good drivers when it comes to inclement weather. This year has been particularly bad for auto accidents from fast-forming snow and ice. It’s cold. Penguin cold. By the time I get done scraping the ice off my car my hands are completely numb. I love cold weather but temps in the minuses are no fun at all. When I am walking to my car, face freezing, eyes tearing I wonder what would happen if it were to drop to that temperature in the middle of July. Everyone in the vicinity would be wearing shorts and t-shirts. I remember about 10-12 years ago it snowed on Halloween. The trees were still green and full of leaves. Trees bent, branches snapped causing power outages all around the city. Not to mention the sad faces of the kids with their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles costumes underneath winter coats. Cities, especially southern, are not prepared to deal with snow in the summer. The devastation would be massive. The snow would melt a lot quicker but with the intense sun, the snow would surely sublimate causing pea-soup fog for a large area. All told, Change Environment has my full respect and I will surely make room for it in my games. Cities with known weather manipulators had better make implement some emergency procedures. If I were to start a campaign from scratch where I eventually wanted to foster anti-mutant sentiment I would most definitely start with a big ol’ Change Environment.
  19. Monkey says what? Worldmaker, Love the writeups. As I read the one for Dr Simian though I had one nagging thought. With his amazing insight into human behavior and understanding of all things it seems his Enraged is a tad...beneath him. Perhaps his brilliance only makes being judged by lesser minds that much more intolerable?
  20. Re: Classing Naming: (this) and (that) Way back yonder in Reagan's first term, I had two villains named Death and Destruction. Death would fight the heroes while Destruction, well, broke things. Destruction liked to walk up to a wall and punch a hole in it. With his arm still engaged, he would walk the perimeter of the room essentially cutting the room in two. Big fun.
  21. Get it out of my head!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought it would be funny if I Googled Walker Texas Ranger fanfic and linked to it.I actually found some. My mind is spinning as if awakened for the first time. Nothing is the same...all changed. Must...
  22. **Putting on a pot of coffee As I recall there was a humongous thread about this on the old boards. Consider this can of worms opened
  23. Re: Viperia/Champions matchup: Define Witchcraft's VPP Just curious, are you running this fight by yourself or with a gaming group?
  24. Re: Need a little info ... Think Hank McCoy as portrayed in the animated X-men TV show.
  25. Re: Show me the PC Mr Tech, Would you per chance have an updated 5th ed version of Neutron? I love the Conquerors and would like to keep them around. I had been working on Neutron for a while myself, slowly piecing together elements from USPD and other sources. In past games, Neutron was my campaign world's Magneto, for obvious reasons. When completed i would like to see the 5th ed version much more powerful, or at least more versatile.
