Socialism for the rich, rugged individualism for everyone else.

I heard it maybe Disneyland doesn't have a choice, Anaheim the city is cracking down on big gatherings and Disneyland might have to yield to that authority. WHich is interesting to me, because I always heard Disney OWNED Anaheim.

In a vain effort to prop up the economy, the Fed pumped $1.5T into the financial sector today. For scale, that's what a year of M4A would cost.
No word yet on any bailouts or assistance for regular Americans.

"Perhaps it is broken." said the cat as they stepped out of the box into a mushroom scented cave and not the coconut scented island he had promised them with.
"What? Why is everyone looking at me?" said Alcatraz apologetically, even if he wasn't sure he should be apologizing. Then he added, "Sorry," for good measure.
Coraline rolled her eyes at the teen. "Did you break it? A one-of-a-kind magical artifact and you broke it!"
"I didn't mean to!" shouted Alcatraz. "It's my magic, it just--"
"It is not magic," declared the young witch accusingly. "Whatever you're doing it most definitely isn't magic."
"Magical artifacts are not so easily broken," offered Frodo. "I think maybe there's another explanation."
"Like operator error," suggested Violet as she gazed at the grinning cat on top of the ominous wardrobe. "Do you really know how it works?"
The cat shrugged and disappeared in a most unsatisfactory manner.

Gaily bedight,
A 'familiar' sight,
From story and from saga,
Had journeyed in boots,
Along vengeance's route,
In search of Baba Yaga.
His witch was dead now cold—
This cat so bold—
Loss cut him like a dagger—
Still not he found
No track on the ground
That led to Baba Yaga.
And, as his ire
burned into too hot a fire,
He had a drink in a plaza—
‘Bartender,’ asked he,
‘Where can she be—
The witch called Baba Yaga?’
‘Over the Mountains
Of the Rus,
Into the forest of the Magi,
Stride, boldly stride,’
The man replied,—
‘If you seek out Baba Yaga!’
Character: Puss in Boots (From the story by Giovanni Francesco Straparola)
Character: Baba Yaga (From Russian Folkore and later literature)
Puss in Boots (after making a marquis) spent time as a Familiar to Witch until the unruly girls slew her...
for revenge, he'll need one of the greatest of all witches
And the carnage causing girls will find Baba Yaga know easy prey
And she's sure that a bit of seasoning can sweeten the girls up again
Unless Mary can find another way to make them behave

I wouldn't just blame the President.
I also blame his advisers and those in the GOP who are deathly afraid that public health services might work or at least help and thus makes folks realize some aspects of free health care aren't the end of the republic but rather part of the rescue of it.
Why then, the public might insist it stick around or at least be more seriously considered.

Pardon me using only the partial quote here... but see this? THIS, was something I was proud about for my country. I know it probably sounds hollow, but given a world history of corrupt global powers, empires, and tyrannies, being considered the least bad option is something I could be patriotic about
Heck, even some foreign politicians who screamed and ranted about us as the source of all evil in the world kind of needed us as a scape goat and didn't really want us to vanish from the face of the Earth because that would take a way a lot of excuses for the problems in the countries that they were leading.
I guess I'm old, I'm nostalgic for the days of "What have the Americans ever done for us... " Insert Monty Python skit.

The Grey Bastards by Jonathan French is a good book. Different take on half orcs.
Interesting because the author ensures the narrative is reliably unreliable (the story is told within the knowledge and biases of the protagonist).
My only criticism is that the capability of the orc antagonists seems to vary depending on story needs a bit too much.

The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. An outstanding take on the city-of-thieves subsubsubgenre of fantasy. Fairly lighthearted, though also violent. Quite unpredictable. I really can't think of any significant flaws.

I'm not a Bernie or Bust type guy myself. I voted for Hillary last time despite wanting Bernie. I'll vote for Biden if he gets the nom (Which seems likely), but honestly, at this point if it was 'Rabid one eyed squirrel or Trump' I'd go with the fluffy tailed rodent.
But yeah, some folks are very short sighted. *Sigh*
