  1. You're complaining about different things than what Tasha stated. To part of your point, there still isn't a guarantee that people will use the new limitation, "even if [the powers] conceptually fit." As for what is or is not allowed in an EC, clear back to 2nd edition it reiterates multiple times that the GM decides what is and isn't allowed in an EC. That's still true in 5E where every time it says, "you can't do this," it immediately follows up with, "unless the GM allows it." [Not direct quotes, but my paraphrase.] Tasha's statement was that ECs had no "real limitation" as compared to UP and the point total limits of an MP. In 5E, an EC has the same "real limitation" as UP provides in her example. I was merely bringing up an objective fact, not my subjective opinion on ECs.
  2. That was the intent for CC. FHC is being done similarly.
  3. You do realize that powers in an EC in 5E suffered from the same "real limitation" with regards to adjustment powers such as Drain?
  4. There's no write-up for Talisman in Millennium City.
  5. I look forward to some kick-ass content to go inside that kick-ass cover!
  6. No. I've played with all types over the years. And I'm sure I've been several of them myself.
  7. You can get the PDF and a print-on-demand copy of Hero System Skills over at DriveThru RPG (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/86534/Hero-System-Skills). I've bought 2 of their Hero Games POD books so far and found the quality to be top notch.
  8. If posting house rules, etc. makes for an "unofficial 7th edition" then we've got it right here in the forum.
  9. Note that it's a physical book, not a PDF.
  10. I've never seen this offered as a PDF. Since it's a Hero publication, and they only list the physical book, I would say it is not currently available in that format.
  11. Yes! But you can't make me go back to my networking days. Now excuse me while I go write a Kindle Short (or whatever Amazon calls their program) titled, Everything I Need To Know About Gaming I Learned From The OSI Model. Seriously, the "unfinished" game is what keeps me with Hero. I like to make my own game (which I've also done in years gone by). But I see most people around me looking for that "finished" product. Which still leads me to believe that we don't so much need a new version of Hero, just a complete, well-crafted setting, with supplemental materials (i.e., adventures) that anyone can use with one of the core books (CC, FHC). The setting/campaign book sets up all of the campaign rules that Hero normally leaves up to the GM. Then all of the additional materials are written to strictly follow those rules.
  12. NP. I completely skipped over the Fuzion era, so only had a vague idea. And I'm still out of votes for today!
  13. "You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day." Guess I'll have to owe you one Tasha.
  14. The tax system should absolutely be dumbed-down! Who can understand that thing?!
  15. I'm not sure where, or if they borrowed action points, but didn't Fuzion come out in the late 90s and SW in early 00s. I just answered my own question by checking Wikipedia -- Fuzion 1998, SW 2003.
  16. Just wondering if you had any of the other paperback, blue cover 6E books to compare against. I picked up a couple of the POD versions (Bestiary and Martial Arts) and did not notice a significant difference from the APG that Hero Games had printed and sold directly in the store. Since you mentioned the difference, I just went back and compared again. The POD versions (at least the covers), don't feel significantly thinner than the APG I have. However they seem more flexible, which I'm attributing to whatever "coating" is on the non-POD book cover. I still agree with you and gave a "Recommended" for both books I bought.
  17. And no one can say, "but that's not how it is in <insert name of real city here>!" Imperious City is whatever I say it is. New York, people have preconceptions about. Edit: fix typo
  18. I'd like to hear your opinion of the POD quality when you get it. I've bought 2 of the other titles and was impressed.
  19. @QM: Was the VPP purposely duplicated?
  20. What he said, since we posted the same link at the same time (approximately).
  21. Lots of "definitions," such as plain vanilla. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/bog_standard
