    Stat
A common medical abbreviation for urgent or rush. From the Latin word statim, meaning "immediately."

I think that could be a good hero ID for speedster hero that works as a paramedic or a healthcare worker.

    Jack in the Green

Jack is a plant manipulator able to rapidly grow plants he is in contact with his costume is composed of foliage and vines by manipulating the plants he can enhance his strength effective armor.
he's able to create vine tendrils for several different effects swinging entangling and creating defensive barriers.
he carries seeds of a variety of plants performing tricks like growing large trees in an instant producing soporific spore clouds thorny bushes etc.
while the forester is the surveillance expert in a suitably wild area jack's plant armor offers extremely effective camouflage admittedly in urban areas the opposite is usually true with him looking like a walking topiary.

    (Stars & ) Stripes

It could have been the plot to a romance, a wounded soldier, a compassionate nurse, a make-shift hospital in an old roman church bombed out by the nazis, the two, alone shelter in it's catacombs... but it was not romance that blossomed, but superpowers.  They never spoke in detail of what they found down there, but speculation runs that it was more likely cthonic or mythos than divine magic.
In any case, the pair emerged with superpowers, 'Stars' could shroud herself in 'black light' becoming virtually invisible & throw 'white light' 'stars' that could cut through steel, 'Stripes' could protect himself with a strobing force field and blast enemies with either a deadly ray of baleful red heat from his right hand, or a stunning white blast of electricity from his left.
The press played up their romance angle, and the two made brief appearances at the occasional USO show together, displaying their powers while Stripes gave a rousing patriotic speech.  But, in reality, they rarely worked together - Stripes powers were useful on the front lines, while Stars powers made her a natural assassin often working with commandos behind the lines.
After the War - and Korea - they mustered out but Stars was soon recruited by the CIA, she worked overseas ostensibly as a spy, but probably also an assassin, until she vanished under mysterious circumstances, never to surface again... speculation includes simply dying in a failed op, or possibly suicide.

Stripes was recruited to join the Pentagon, and he was a solid contributor and one of the longest-standing members, becoming the team spokesman, if not leader, eventually.  Stars was replaced with a kid sidekick (not counting as one of the five members) of the same name - represented as his son with the original Stars (and when that didn't add up, adopted orphan - neither were true, he had been recruited from a pool of disadvantaged young mutants, the backers just wanted a wholesome-seeming backstory).   The new Stars had no similarity to the original, he was a regenerator who could extend that power to others temporarily, by touch.  Over the years, as he grew up, he received extensive martial arts training and various attempts at gearing him up to a full super, but it never quite fit his temperament, and he rarely fought aggressively.  Also, as an adult, a relationship grew between Stars & Stripes, only, this time, the romance was real, even if it had to be kept strictly secret.
Stripes was also inconveniently up-standing and would have blown the whistle on the teams shadier operations or resigned in protest when one of his colleagues was unfairly ruined, but the powers behind the scenes knew his 'shameful' secret, and he was kept in line by blackmail for many years.  In the 80s, Stripes became less and less active in field operations, but continued to be a spokesman for the team, looking drawn and haggard at times.  The official story was that he had been badly wounded in a battle with The Ripper (from classic enemies), and had never fully recovered.   He died several years before the team disbanded.

A few years later, Stars came out.

    Team Amerika

Conceived when the Soviet fiasco in Afganistan was at it's height, the idea was to create some much-needed propaganda against America's superheroes.  The team that seemed most vulnerable was the Pentagon, so, on a shoestring budget and rushed schedule, a sleeper team was pulled together to pull off crimes in the guise of it's current members.  The attempt failed on multiple levels.  The sleeper agents' training was poor to the point some of them even had obvious accents, and they were not well-matched to the superheroes they were meant to impersonate, using barely-similar powers or kludged together tech that was less than convincing to anyone who'd even seen footage of the originals in action.  Plus the Pentagon roster was always changing.  What's more, as right-thinking communists the members were more concerned with the greater good for the greater number, and hesitated to actually commit crimes that would cause further harm to members of America's crushed proletariat.  So when they did rob a bank they'd make sure it was a big corporate bank and they'd distribute the money to the poor; when they kidnapped a rich man's child, they'd demand he capitulate to a union's demands instead of collect a ransom, and so forth.   When the Soviet Union collapsed, they disbanded and resumed living in their secret sleeper-cell IDs, since America really wasn't that bad a place to live, afterall.  But when the Pentagon finally disbanded, some of them returned to heroeing, this time for real, at least for a while.  Presumably, today, they're all dead/depowered/retired/whatever, but if one were to surface, they might prove more popular than ever.

Obviously, 5 members, each should imitate (however badly) a member of the Pentagon over on the Hero Team Theme thread (though it's always possible one was stuck imitating a member who was already gone by the time they got here)

    To start:

Kirill Kuznetsov had been a boy during the Great Patriotic war, but had few memories of it beyond hunger, his family were 'ignorant superstitious peasants' and he lived up to that stigma, seeking out the legendary witch Baba Yaga and gaining a boon from her.  As a boy, he never new hunger again, and grew into a strapping young man, but she cursed one of his eyes to emit a deadly ray so he killed anyone he looked at.  That was his story, the operatives who found and trained him as a super and taught him to control that deadly glare, told him he was a mutant with powers that manifested, quite typically, at puberty - CIA documents referred to him as 'Balor'.   He was assigned to imitate Stripes of the Pentagon, using his deadly eye-beam, which was at least red, and given a balky taser-like gauntlet to imitate Stripes shock attack.  The impersonation went poorly, Kirill was significantly taller and more heavily built than the real Stripes and didn't have a strobing force-field to hide behind, his halting diction was also nothing like that of the natural orator who took so well to the role of team face.  The "Stars" who accompanied him was a failed Olympic gymnast trained up as a stealthy martial artist who employed metal throwing stars, she retired back to her sleeper-cell ID after a few missions when they discovered the real Stars was a boy and relative non-combatant (she could be brought back to impersonate a different member of the Pentagon is someone wants).

Some years after the Pentagon disbanded, Kirill, having obtained American citizenship, returned to the super-hero arena as the patriotic 'Red Glare' "Is patriotic!  Is right there in National Anthem!"  Letting his past fade into obscurity.  After a decade or so in that identity he returned to Russia to visit family and was never seen again.

    Proud American

Gottfried Willis Oberthson was a second-generation American from Boston. He fought in WWII as a Marine, earning a Silver Star Medal on Guadalcanal and a second on Iwo Jima, and finishing the war as a Master Sergeant. He went on to serve in Korea, winning an eventual promotion to First Sergeant.
Some of the backers of the initial Pentagon viewed what they were doing as requiring a solid and dependable non-com to instill an appropriate level of discipline and adherence to orders to the group. Oberthson was outfitted with the latest tech and arms the USA of 1960 could provide - gyrojet rocket guns, a strength boosting exo-frame, back-mounted concussion grenade launchers. Given the code name Proud American he was viewed as a serious asset.
In the field, things didn't work out that way. Oberthson was used to working with Marine infantry as part of or leading a well-oiled team, and the Pentagon wasn't that, nor were the members willing to be put through his gruelling version of basic training. And his gear was, well, cutting edge - which meant it didn't work as advertised. The gyrojets were useless inside of ten feet, the exo-frame shorted out any time it got wet, and the grenade launchers were so inaccurate he ended up concussing himself more than once.
Worse, however, was Oberthson's attitude to anyone who wasn't white. He was an out-and-out racist and white supremacist, basically unable to work with anyone he saw as "inferior" unless he was in a position of power over them. And then he made their lives hell. If he hadn't had a lot of backing from the hardline military faction supporting the Pentagon project he wold have been the first member expelled.
Even so, after an ugly incident with a Civil Rights protest in '66, Proud American was sidelined. His gear (which had undergone considerable improvement) was copied, and Sergeant Oberthson was basically told to train a new, younger man recently returned from Vietnam - clearly, his replacement. Instead, Oberthson stole the gear, went AWOL, and wasn't heard from again until '72, when he emerged as the "Superhero" White Dragon, "champion" of the KKK. Two years later, A US Army Special Forces team tracked him down in Louisiana and Oberthson was killed in the attempt to arrest him.

    BLOCK Chain

The PR experts charged with assembling The Informers, where desperate to complete the team before their planned first appearance, so when they received an application from a "Block-Chain" defending an impoverished neighborhood, sent her an acceptance email without a second thought.

She turned out to be a chain-weilding street-level martial artist, defending her block from gangs - with no STEM connection at all.  Undeterred, they called their principle who provided her with new nanotech chain of self-replicating links keyed to her so that it moved like an extension of her will, and, if broken or snatched away would repair itself and return to her.

In the meantime, they gave her a crash course in cryptocurrency buzzwords, but it turns out, the discipline and determination to train yourself up to superheroic levels of martial skill works on book learning, too, and she was quickly giving expert-sounding lectures on the subject... and in just a few months had even mastered it, to the further surprise of all involved.

"When Bulldozer grabbed hold of my chain, he thought he could use his greater size and strength to drag me around, but each link of the chain builds itself with its own authentication, so it moves only how I want it to."

So, I was responsible for that debacle, so I'm just throw'n it out there.

Whoever wants to post the next team idea, go for it.

How about "The ThinkBank", a team of at least 5 wealthy genius types who, bored with their endless charity fundraisers and thinking that they could do a better job of saving the world if only they were running everything, devote their genius, and cash, toward attempting the thrilling business of total global domination together?

    Vulgore

A demonic entity summoned to this plane by the dark sorcerer A'tep Amon who served his new master as a tool of destruction and death. He was vanquished, along with Amon by the Convocation in Light.  Morgan Ravenscraft removed the runes of control from Vulgore's flesh and made an attempt to reason with the beast. Shockingly this worked and he became reformed. He has joined Pentacle to try and make up for his evil deeds and perhaps earn some form of redemption. He has curbed his more savage instincts, but still makes an extremely formidable foe with his vast strength and nearly indestructible nature. Naturally the public has yet to embrace what amounts to a red scaly skinned horned demon playing hero. Therefore he stays out of view as much as possible and operates against evil in the shadows.

    Hungry
Hungry has legally changed her name to the single word, in a genuine tribute to the single word adjective monikers of Disney's seven dwarves.

From her father, a wealthy crimelord, she has inherited a great deal of wealth, and also dwarfism. From her mother, she inherited a genius level of intelligence, a talent for engineering, and an unceasing hedonistic gluttony.

She has given up on walking anymore, as she prefers being "carried around like a Queen from times of yore", aboard a seat within the two metre tall war-robot that she pilots.

    Lyta the Hippo

Lyta comes from an alternate Earth on which primates were the only genus of placental mammals that failed to attain sentience and become part of an advanced pan-species utopia.
At some point she found a magic belt that brought her here, and sometimes provides some random but useful power. Aside come that she's large, strong, perky, intelligent, and friendly.
Unless you're a nasty primate, then she'll prep you in an unappreciatedly elegant way and feed you to Cerberbull - who she finds just dreamy.
Maybe her mind was warped by shifting dimensions or Myth Master did something to her, whatever the reason, she has a complete mental block that causes her to percieve her teammates as normal, lovely, anthropomorphs like those of her homeworld - and all other humans as horrid primate vermin.  Actual anthropomorphic animals might be able to get through to her, though.

Cerberbull is exactly what his name implies - a three headed Minotaur. Myth Master wasn't entirely happy with it - he doesn't especially like mixing his myths, and it was Theseus who fought the Minotaur of Crete. But, it counts as both the Cretan Bull and Cerberus, and Myth Master was running out of options.
Cerberbull's teammates aren't over happy either. The beast is stupid, brutish and likes to eat people. But it's undeniably powerful, and very little tends to remain after one of the creature's "triple charges".

Kid Pureheart has been a regular on the team for almost four years now. He's actually the third person to have taken up the name and power set - the ability to manipulate "pure light" to flash, blast or even laser villains. Kim Allen Douglas is actually the son of the Kid Pureheart of the 1980s, and nephew of the Kid Pureheart of the 1990s, but this is not widely known, and many outside the team speculate that Kid Pureheart is some kind of immortal, clone or robot. Others note that some of these are ridiculous, since all of the Kids Pureheart have visibly aged while with the team.
The source of al of their powers is a piece of alien technology. It bonds to the back of the wearer, and cannot be removed without their permission - but once removed, it cannot be reattached. More importantly, it only works when the wearer is completely and unquestionably sure they are doing the right thing - making Kid Pureheart useless in situations of moral or ethical ambiguity. There does seem to be an override for this - the second Kid Pureheart was able to command operations by sheer willpower, an act the current holder has never been able to replicate. It was only during this period that Kid Pureheart, despite often being called the heart of the team, was allowed to lead it.
This has caused more than a small amount of family friction. Kim's father has become an evangelistic preacher, and Kim follows that path, while his uncle Mike is a notably progressive head of a charity group. Of late, Kim has been wondering if the strictures of his belief are what have prevented him from making the breakthrough Mike did.
Kim is also almost 18, the age when both his father and uncle bowed out of the role, and his maturing mentality and conscience are making it increasingly difficult to use his powers at all. Plus, in a recent encounter with Ren the Space Weasel Kim found himself swayed by the villain's positions and arguments.. The obvious replacement is Mike's 12 year old daughter, but both Kim and his father question the suitability of a girl Kid Pureheart. Mike is insistant, though, and Laura wants the position. The decision is Kim's to make, and he has not yet decided.

    The All Black

Fred Clark was a rugby player and was in the New Zealand Rugby team the All Blacks. During a warm up match before a series against Australia supervillains attacked the game. One of them to prove a point blasted a member of the team. That happened to be Fred. As the villain was pontificating, Fred got back to his feet. So he was hit again but this time he did not fall over. The villain fired again and again and then Fred flew at him and took him down. The villains were also attacked by the police and the other rugby players. This was the end of Fred's career as a rugby player but after medical tests, Fred was invited to join Southern Cross.
The rugby federation felt that Fred embodied what the New Zealand rugby was all about so he was allowed to be called The All Black. He is one of the few heroes who is publicly known. He is a flying brick who can absorb a lot of energy damage.

    New Team: Righteous Teens
This is a well known hero team for teenagers which acts as a feeder into other teams. Because of the limited lifespan of a teenager (13-19) members come and go and they have a variety of different powers. The one thing that separates the team from others is the commitment to virtue. A member of the group can be religious but not necessarily so. Abstention from alcohol and drugs is a given. But also refraining from poor behaviour and political rhetoric.
Minimum of 5 members but can come from 1966 to date.
This is one of the teams that Ren the Space Weasel keeps coming up against. Note that he may have been thwarted by the team but never caught.
