Well, I was past 1:00 am last night getting sub plans (including the aforementioned rubric) ready for today's classes. I swear, it's so much easier just to suck it up and suffer through a hard day of classes than to get a substitute.

To me, a rubric is a way to assure that I grade all 200+ assignments the same way. It avoids accusations of favoritism. I hate using other people's rubrics, though. I always design my own, so that I can focus on exactly what I think is important.
