Pariah reacted to Iuz the Evil in Political Discussion Thread (With Rules)
I have been reading up on Secretary Wyman, she seems a woman of personal integrity and strong conviction regardless of her party. Given the enormous pressure exerted by the current incarnation of her party, I’m reminded of:
”When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree by the river of truth, and tell the whole world 'No, You Move.”
Good for her, we need more politicians like that.

Here in Washington State, the big political news of the day is that our Secretary of State, Kim Wyman, is quitting to take a job in the Biden Administration: the Homeland Security office overseeing election security. She is well qualified for the job, having overseen Washingto0n's transition to all vote-by-mail and -- thanks to which, 2020's election came off smooth as silk. She's also been a notable critic of Trump's Big Lie.
Sec'y Wyman is also the last Republican elected to statewide office on the entire West Coast. Many of my fellow Democrats will miss her. I can only hope that Biden can find jobs for other Republicans who have refused to join the Party of Trump.

From the article:
Untrue. As for me, Mr. Kirk, I have no fear of that whatsoever. Because I've seen precisely zero evidence that you and your rat-b@st@rd idol-figure have any capacity whatsoever for self-control and/or discipline. How you've evolved speech and language centers when your brains are still so largely reptilian is quite beyond me.
Go ahead, prove me wrong. Demonstrate that you have the capacity to operate on higher than a fight-or-flight mentality, that you can reason and communicate and listen to others.
I'll wait.

Pariah reacted to wcw43921 in Lightyear
While I certainly have nothing against Chris Evans, if any other actor besides Allen were to voice Buzz Lightyear, it should have been Jonathan Frakes. I tell you, all Riker needs is to take himself about a dozen times more seriously, and get himself a really cool spacesuit with pop-out wings and a laser light in the forearm, and there'd be no difference between the two.

I posted a picture like this on Facebook several months ago. One of my "friends" (initially from the Hero Boards, as it turns out) went full-on Trump-loving COVID-denying plague enthusiast on me, and I had to dump him.

In retrospect, casting RDJ as Tony stark was brilliant. I mean, in comics Tony is a womanizing alcoholic multimillionaire. Outside of Charlie Sheen, who would have been more qualified?
I'll admit that I had my doubts when I first heard about Chris Evans as Cap. I mean, FF wasn't a great film, and Evans (and everyone else) was overshadowed by Michael Chiklis, as far as I'm concerned. I was personally rooting for Ryan McPartlin (Devin Woodcomb a/k/a Captain Awesome from Chuck).
Overall, I think Marvel's casting has been brilliant. Way, way too many example to list, but one recent one that sticks out: Who in their right mind pairs Tom Hiddleston's Loki with Owen Wilson? But it was brilliant. And I'll never read a story with Black Panther without hearing Chadwick Boseman's voice.

I finally got around to watching Ant-Man and Ant-Man and The Wasp on Disney+.
Scott Lang may be the best superhero dad ever.
