Having expended a lot of propellant, the star is now considerably lighter, reducing its core pressure and making it last much longer. Or maybe they have enough fuel to fly it back once the danger passes.

LS: Disease, Poison, and Aging are just a way to buy off the Disad we all get for being made out of imperfect little protein nanomachines that have known weaknesses that can be exploited. If I don't have a 0-point Vulnerability to cyanide, then no possible concentration of cyanide will interfere with my biochemistry because the mechanism doesn't exist within my body. In my opinion Poison is not a valid sfx for a straight-up RKA or EB. On the other hand, heat and impact can theoetically be increased to the point where any real-world structure made out of atoms or other particles will be deformed in some way, whether we have the technology to do it or not. You need some type of defensive power to defend against heat or kinetic energy.

Re: Favorite Abuse If that isn't illegal, it should be. The Folower rules (and all the variations such as Bases, Computers, etc.) already describe something separate from the character, adding Focus is nonsensical. If it's OK to build a wearable computer wristwatch as a Focus, I want OAF Bulky for my vehicle. If a wristwatch is OAF, the Batmobile should be umm Immobile or something.

Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game I'm there now. Port Oakes: North entrance of the tall brownstone house just east of the arena. Not too far from the difficulty level contact. Sharkhead: A grungy white panel truck about 100 yds SSE of the natural vendor, quite close to a mission contact. St. Martial: A manhole by a large transformer under a powerline tower 340 yards NE of the natural vendor.

Re: Restrainable I think the difference is in how easy the Powers are to completely disable with a Grab, Entangle, or the like. Birdman needs to maintain aerodynamic trim; any interference with his wings means he can't get airborne at all, even to hover. Gleep's tail might be slender and flexible and easy to interfere with, although I kind of wonder if he's just trying for some free points. Speed Demon can be hobbled or grappled, and he might stay upright or even struggle forward at a reduced rate. Hopping, if he has to, or dragging Gleep behind him.

Re: IK Hero? Every time I see this topic I wonder what the heck an Inverse Kinematics Hero would be. Maybe he's kind of like Matt Keller in Niven's A Gift from Earth, telekinetically adjusting your body language, and thereby changing your emotional state through a sort of nonverbal communication/subtle feedback thingy.

Re: Worst comic book superfight ever The Mort Weisinger Superman had the same Power Defense as he had PD and ED, namely virtually infinite. It's just that his Power Defense was Not vs. Magic. I'd call him the Silver Age Superman. Julius Schwartz scaled his PD and ED back to merely ridiculous, and removed the Power Defense against all but the most mundane effects. I consider that Superman (ca. 1971-1980) to be Bronze Age. He's also the guy that got me into superhero comics, for what it's worth.

Re: Golden Age Day Jobs Black Canary owned a flower shop in the Golden Age too. I remember reading a reprint in Detective back in the 70s, but I don't recall many details. I do remember she was Dinah Drake, though, and dating Larry Lance (who was a detective)

Re: Batman's Origin Story The true origin of Batman: Batman leaves a message on his computer saying that Spoiler should immediately steal Metron's travel chair. After Spoiler reads the message and leaves, Batman alters the message to read that Spoiler should in fact not attempt such a thing because it's really pointless and stupid, giving him evidence to use to mock her later. Spoiler succeeds, so Batman uses the travel chair to travel into the past. He disguises himself as Joe Chill and murders Thomas and Martha Wayne, assuring Batman his place as Dark Avenger of the Night.

Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game Yes, in my opinion the radius is fine for a front-line fighter. My pirate robot ninja-master has no problem hanging back and aiding his ninjas with Leadership, so I see no reason it shouldn't work the other way. Dunno. Yes, I'm pretty sure it does.
