  2. Re: How Many U S Heros ? Demographics has been a fun experiment here many times. There are many factors that go into a serious experiment. And the final of those is regardless of place of origin, Supers don't always stay put. Why stay in the countryside when there is more crime and action in the city?

  4. Re: KB discussion I just read most of the posts. And thinking of the early posts, what fights in comics lack KB? I remember an issue of the Hulk where Hercules, Namor, Wonder Man, and Iron Man try to subdue the Hulk. The KB from the pounding (including shellhead's repulsor rays) destroyed 6 six blocks before Hulk won. Prior to taunting the Thing into a fight to work out aggression over Johnny and Alicia's wedding (pre-she's a skrull), Jen made sure to locate a building scheduled for demolition to fight in b/c she knew the KB would be devestating. The demolition crew ended up with an early completion bonus after the two's punching at each other destroyed the whole building. Even Batman and Robin score 1-2" KB results fighting thugs. Most fights in comics feature KB.
  5. Re: Need help with...The List... Might be cool if Destroyer secretly aids the characters just enough so they can humble Paragon in combat....then Destroyer can swoop in crush Paragon and reclaim his place as the world's supreme villain.

I don't want the full entry type anything, just a clue. Spear of Destiny - i know this one Tablets of Destiny - ??? What are these supposed to do? Also, are there any non-mystic cosmic super-weapons in the CU? maybe mentioned in Galactic Champions?

Re: Speedster limitation At some point in the past when discussing this, I suggested allowing an Adder for clinging that allowed the character to "cling" to the surface of water or other semi-solid materials. It seems bulky to me to purchase flight (with all its inherent features such as a turn mode) when all you want to do is stand on a surface you can't normally stand on. That sounds like clinging to me.
  12. Re: The Invisible World Neither Mages nor Kindred (Vampires) have any sort of invisibilitity to mundanes as a default. They both have powers they can utilize to create an invisibility effect. Mages have Arcane, the Mind Sphere, or the Energy Sphere. Vampires have the Obfuscate, Quietus, Chimerstry, and Thaumaturgy Disciplines. Virtually every WoD supernatural needs a social limitation for alerting the public to them.

  14. Re: Secret Identity taken at a slightly lesser value... I think you could do it if you really thought that it would have a limited impact on the character. But i'd disagree on your assessment of that impact. The character will now likely be unemployed (too much of a security risk to any company), his personal assets could be in danger (looted or seized by the gov't as leverage for cooperation), he'd lose insurance of all sorts, may be sued in court for actions, his friends and family would likely be attacked by Viper or other enemies. Oh, the character may be physically unharmed....but his life would be severely impacted.
  15. Re: Gravitar vs Graviton? Point of Order: that story occured during the Acts of Vengeance arc. Spider-Man was enhanced by the Captain Universe power; He was more powerful than Superman at that point.

And don't forget his recent ventures in Thunderbolts (vol 1) where he located every major hero worldwide from L.A. and held them captive a thousand feet off the ground (whereever in the world they happened to be). And he still had power to spare to fight the Thunderbolts and Archangel while pulling off that aforementioned stunt. In other appearances, he has totally ignored the damage from the Human Torch's nova blast.

  18. I don't know if this has been done here before. But does anyone know any good websites to find visuals of weapons (by themselves) to use as a pictoral gallery of weapons available.
  19. Re: VPPs -- what's the logic? Some of the views of VPPs always amaze me. I've never had a game balance problem with any VPP. You just need to enfore the SFX and other limitations of the control cost.
  20. Re: Let's talk about Combat Luck Not so sure about that....sometimes the effect of Combat Luck should include Stun. I think you just need to enforce the luck aspect and by gm fiat declare that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

  22. Re: Paladin help One thing to consider is if a deity of trade would have "paladins" in the form we are all familiar with. A paladin is a holy warrior. For a deity of order, good, rulership, justice, or similiar ethos, the typical knight-based powerful warrior is a good template. The powers to confront evil, heal, and shed light are appropriate. Are these the skills and powers a deity of luck would want? or wisdom? or trade? Consider the goals. A deity of Justice is combatting evil or injustice. But a deity of trade is concerned with diplomacy and finding new routes and places. A "paladin" of such a deity might very well be more of a ranger than a heavy-mob fighter. Powers would reflect being able to overcome barriers (to physical travel and negotiation).

    A couple map questions from a hopeless artist. 1) what happened to the Turkanian Age maps in the Free Stuff? there was labeled and unlabeled. 2) Keith -- can we bribe you to post an unlabeled version of your Savage Earth Maps?
