  1. I dunno, I actually liked VIPER's mystical origin. Certainly it made more sense then the AI did. Plus it gives you more options and allows you to work VIPER into Golden Age campaigns and what not.
  2. It's uterus, I know that much. Makes me rather glad I didn't get to see those particular episodes of Sailor Moon.
  3. Possibly, but in a straight one on one fight, with neither side having a distinct advantage you have to admit that Nighthawk is at a severe disadvantage. Of course that could be a distinct "Batman is the bestest" bias floating over to his clone. I really hate it when people claim certain folks are unstoppale just because they're darknight avengers, y'know?
  4. Well if you're choosing him to LOSE that fight, then I agree with you.
  5. VIPER was awesome, that's all I can say. Everything about it works for me, especially the world information and VIPER X. Granted, I also wished we got more VIPER villains written up and stats for more agents [i was mildly peeved that the Scarlet Serpents didn't get any write ups in the agent section at the end, just cause they had a very cool name.] LOVE the agent package deals, especially since it makes it so easy for an enterprising GM to come up with villains for VIPER. For example: Do you want to upgrade Buckshot from the old Dark Champions book into somebody your characters will FEAR? Just give him the VIPER Academy Self Improvement Package Deal, the General Combat Specialist deal and then the Superhuman Combat Specialist and Scarlet Serpent Package Deals. Suddenly that punk kid with big dreams from the mean streets of Hudson City is almost equal to a gadgeteer or martial artist if given the right gear. Give him the proper support and he could be a menace to an entire team of superheros. I like that.
  6. Twilight: "Well I'm really just a well trained person, so registration is a moot point in my case. However if I had powers, I'm not sure I'd get myself registered. I mean sure it is the law and all, but really registering would be endangering my family unneccesarily, considering VIPER and worse hunting my ass." Friedan Retter: "NEIN!! NO WAY, NO HOW!! Mein Herr, I would sooner date a rabid werewolf then expose my private life to the government. Letting Black Harlequin give me dental surgery is a less frightening prospect." Adamant: "Well, I'm not to fond of that particular law but I'm not going to break it just because I'm unfond of it. That would set a bad example. As a rolemodel, I'd want to influence children to follow the moral path." Dr. Visscitude: "Register?" *does a Jedi hand wave thing as her pheromones start effecting you. "I already have registered."
  7. That'd be more of a quirk then a Psych Lim. I doubt checking animal poop would be a consideration if a croc was trying to bit his head off or something. However, from what I've seen of the show he's probably got a 25% Damage Reduction amd a fairly high STR as well as crocs are tough buggers. As for Terri and Suey, I'd say they'd be followers. Terri would be built on almost as many points as Steve.
  8. Considering Steve's skill at outwrestling saltwater crocidiles, dodging the bites of all sorts of quick striking animals and essentially staying alive when other folk would've been reptile chow I'd hardly say those poachers were more powerful then Steve-O. Also you forgot the +30 PRE; only for maintaining his smile in any and all situations.
  9. Interesting twist on the whole Backworld deal, I'm wondering if anybody has done this in thier own campaign. Basically, the Backworld version of the characters comes to our dimension and team up with the character's archenemies in order to defeat them. In return, the characters must team up with the Backworld version of thier archenemies in order to keep from getting clobbered. Is this idea really as original as I think it is? Anybody else used it?
  10. Re: Re: "Suicide Squad" Champions Universe style I belive the unofficial name for the Expendables was the Kamikaze Korps.
  11. But it's not name registery. It's simply copyrighting a unique image, much like Universal Studios has copyrighted the classic Frankenstein look, or how Disney has copyrighted thier characters. Just business.
  12. There are two Thunderbolts in CKC for example. Without something as absurd as Aberrant's solution of a company that "legitimizes" names there realistically would be duplication. Ok, no offence Emerged but I have to speak up on this one. The solution in Aberrant isn't "absurd" at all. Since Aberrant has groups like Project Utopia and those mercenary outfits that hire Novas and generally give them thier names in the first place, they naturally copyright them when they can in order to prevent people from using those names. The WWE does the same when they give a name to a character. Just FYI.
  13. Not quite sure how they are in the real world [i think the actor who played Green Hornet might've also played the Lone Ranger] but I know how they're connected in the story. Unless I'm mistaken, the Lone Ranger is the Green Hornet's great grandfather.
  14. Re: Close, but... Actually, it was Digory's unscrupulous uncle, a would-be magician, who had a crush on Jadis. He's the one who sent Digory and friend Polly hurtling through alternate dimensions. For her part, Jadis loved only one thing, herself, and saw Uncle Andrew's experiments as means to conquer yet another world for her amusement. [/b] Oh that's right, like I said it's been a long time since I last read the Narnia books. Obviously I should make a point of reading them again. However, my point about Digory being responsible for Jadis escaping is true, since he's the one who rang the bell that let her go. I distinctly remember that.
  15. Re: Extradimensional menace! Wasn't Kirke the one who liked Jadis and kept calling her a "dem fine girl"? I mean it has been awhile since I've read the Narnia books, but I was under the impression that Jadis would've never left Charn if it hadn't been for him.
  16. True enough, I was just thinking the entangle idea would be way out of character for Scrooge y'know? I mean Moore stuck as close as possible to the historys and abilities of the characters he used in LoEG, I figure a game based on it should do so as well.
  17. Scrooge doesn't need such gimmickery. Obviously he's the money man for the team. Having learned the error of his ways that one Christmas Eve, he now does his level best to make up for all the bad he's done in his life so he supports the team.
  18. I belive Doom Patrol villains General Zahl and Madame Rouge also remained deceased.
  19. Two of his sons followed in his footsteps. One of them became Grimhunter and was killed by Kaine in that god awful Spider Clone era. The other one, Aloshya I belive his name is, basically became a mirror image of his dear old dad.
  20. It depends really. While it is true that Grundy has never really been bright, his intelligence has varied in his various appearences. Sometimes he has near human intelligence, sometimes he's a dumb lug like he is in the cartoon. In his Starman appearences, he seemed to be of moderate intelligence with a speech impediment. His personality changes each time he revives from his death, most of the time he's evil but once in a great while he'll come back with a good personality, as he did in Starman. Also, I belive his strength level varies with each revival as well.
  21. Well every GM needs to have thier players curse his name once or twice. All in good fun of course.
  22. We have this statement from "Brian.": "BRAIN! My name is Brain! NOT BRIAN!"
  23. Megaplayboy, is it OK if I swipe that VIPER Revenge Squad idea for my own game?
  24. Umm, I've gotta go with GenreFiend on this one. Sounds pretty darned villainous to me.
  25. Glitch would be either a multipower or, more likely, a VPP. As you said, Glitch could do damn near anything.
