  1. Re: Harry Potter HERO True, alas that only seems to work on Professor Trewlany, I doubt Firenze would've fallen for that but then he was a much cooler teacher anyway.
  2. Re: Dark Champions in Champs Universe? No, that's a cop out. That's a non explanation. Obviously metahumans raised in a city as violent as Hudson City is are going to be less flashy then superhumans in other cities. After all the flashier they are the more attention they draw to themselves and the more psychos they're liable to attract. That leads to a greater likelyhood of those psychos discovering secret IDs and such and endangering familes and what not. However if they're sneaky and low key, it leads to greater safety. If they're viewed as 'just another vigilante' the badguys might not take as much trouble to discover secret IDs and such.
  3. Re: Dark Champions in Champs Universe? The easy answer to that question is simply that Hudson City does have it's own superhumans, they're just less flashy then superhumans in other cities and thus don't get as much press.
  4. Re: Looking for NEW words of transformation: (SHAZAM, Thunder! Thunder!...) True but then nobody's mentioned "With the Strength of RA!" or "STRENGTH OF THE BEAR!" either. Possibly that's a good thing.
  5. Re: Favorite Master Villain Well after reading The Turakian Age, I'd have to say Takofanes the Undying is right up there amongst my favourite master villains but then I always did have a fondness for ancient evils. If only somebody would strat up Auralia, the sort that killed him the first two times, I'd be a happy guy with a cool character concept. Other favourites of mine include Archimago, Mechanon, Dr. Yin Wu and Malachite.
  6. Re: A Modern League of Extroardinary Gentlemen Sounds more like Steve Irwin, only useful member of this team. If you ask me.
  7. Re: Why does Nighthawk always get depicted getting the crap kicked out of him? Because every 5th Edition supervillain has an invisible disad: Berserk when facing vigilantes with ducks on thier heads.
  8. Re: Superassassins? I'd even go so far as to say very cool and impressive characters. Well thought out and frightening, Angelfish and Demise more so then Major Magnum in my opinion, but still nasty.
  9. Re: Super Powers in Hudson City Or the supers in Hudson City just aren't as flashy as the ones in other cities. Having been living in Hudson City, possibly born and raised there, they're quite familiar with the violence of the city and how deadly it can be. Thus they tend to be sneakier, especially since the Mob and many other criminal orginizations are still strong there, so they need to be even sneakier then the Champions or the Sentinels to keep thier family protected. Just a thought.
  10. Re: Super Powers in Hudson City The simple answer is that the superheroes have crime enough to handle in their own cities without going to fight it elsewhere. After all with thier arch enemies and VIPER Nests, ARGENT bases and DEMONhames they probably have thier hands full keeping whatever city they're living in safe from crime. Also, Hudson City's crime problem isn't something simple that they can solve in one trip, it's an ongoing problem that would require a constant presence to do anything about. The heroes can't be expected to abandon thier own cities, which also have crime problems, in order to help another.
  11. Re: Your Inner Circle True enough, I was just stating my own personal preference on the matter. Of course I prefer more silver age type stuff with only the minimum amount of doom and gloom neccesary for any particular situation. That of course increases around Halloween. Anyways, there is no right way to do it, to each thier own.
  12. Re: Any Good Non-Four Color Super Game Needs: I'm pretty sure the first one has been true in Batman comics for quite awhile, barring the 60's of course. Not sure about the second though.
  13. Re: Your Inner Circle Interesting idea ghost angel, intriguing in fact. However to me that makes more sense for VIPER's High Council as to my knowledge DEMON isn't interested in seqular power. However if I ever get my game running, I'm definetly using that list as part of VIPER's High Council in my game. If you don't mind me using your idea of course.
  14. Re: Your Inner Circle Interesting stuff. Out of curiousity, did anybody have Rasputin back from the dead as part if DEMON's Inner Circle the way they did in Hellboy? How about other historical type magical types?
  15. Well I was going over the product list recently and noticed that DEMON is due, I think sometime near the end of the summer. This caused me to wonder, I've seen a lot of threads here about evil businessmen they'd like to be in VIPER's High Council and what not. Well I was wondering, who is in your version of DEMON'S Inner Circle? Do you use the Classic Orginizations version? Do you have a homebrewed version? Or a nasty hybrid version?

    Evil Businessmen.

Re: Evil Businessmen. Rupert Murdoch seems to be a natural to be an evil businessman who's a member of the VIPER Council, though it does seem rather obvious. I can see characters not finding it too surprising at all. Ted Turner would be about the same way. Of course, Ted Turner used to own World Championship Wrestling. What if he bankrupted WCW on purpose as a cash cow and money laundering service to VIPER? All the poor lower card wrestlers who were fired ended up being recruited by VIPER! Those poor luchadors had thier careers ruined, their skills mocked for the financial benefit of VIPER! This stain on the proud tradition of Lucha Libre must not be allowed to stand. VIPER shall fall! So swears....EL HIJO DEL ESPECTRO!!
  17. Re: Silliest Disadvantage Ever
  18. Re: Calling all Mages... The Merlin as computer thing is strictly 4th Edition Champions so you can ignore it if you wish too.
  19. Re: What comic book villains would make cool heroes, and vice versa? Because they don't blow up homes and families now, duh.
  20. Re: Your Character's Greatest Fear? Twilight is afraid of becoming like his real father, Mr. Dark. The idea of becoming a sadistic beast who feeds off the negative emotions of others gives him the chills, since he's basically a nice guy himself. Almost the exact opposite of Mr. Dark. He used to fear Mr. Dark himself, but grew out of it before becoming a super hero. Aside from that, he fears clowns.
  21. If you challenged Takophanes to a deal he'd kill you, it's just that simple. He wouldn't even be amused about the challenge. There's a chance he might see you as beneath him though, in which case you'll just get ignored. As for Dr. Yu Wen, I don't know much about him. You might have a shot at becoming his apprentice.
  22. In fact I would go so far as to say that sword is more appropriate for a superhero then a supervillain like Black Paladin. Perhaps a rival of his? OH! Character idea! *files it away for later use*
  23. Well, in my perpetually dying Golden Age game, the big mad scientist baddie was called Professor Peril. I would be honoured if somebody used the name for thier game, since mine seems to have fallen to the wayside.
  24. But the creator of Static Shock has much to do with his character and the Animated Continuity that Bruce Timm has created, being a writer for many of the shows in it. Thus, he would have far more knowledge on the subject then you would.
