  1. Well I think the fact that the creator of the character, who also works as a writer for the DC Animated Continuity, saying his character is in that Continuty is all the proof needed. That said, perhaps we ought to just agree to disagree on this one little point?
  2. Which only proves that you didn't take the time to actually read the arguement before sticking your nose in with your unwanted comments. Here's some advice, if you don't care for the debate DON'T READ IT!
  3. WE DO! So if you have nothing pertinent to add then shut up!
  4. Wrong! There is no evidence to suggest that they aren't, absolutely none. However there is tremendous evidence that they are. However the only evidence we require at the moment is the fact that the creator of Static, who also writes for the Justice League show, has stated that Static is indeed in the current DC Animated Continuity.
  5. Nope, correct. In the current DC Universe Animated Continuity Wendy, Marvin and the Wonder Dog don't exsist. Static however does, as shown by his numerous team ups with Batman as well as his team ups with Superman and the Justice League.
  6. *bzzt* Sorry that is incorrect, your test is faulty and both you and Metaphysician end up in the corner wearing dunce caps. The fact that they have been shown to be in the same universe and that both universes share continuity [The Justice League team-up came after the JL episode with Brainiac and Warworld for example and his teamup with Superman shows direct continuity with the episode of the Superman: Animated Series featuring the Darla robot] proves Static and the Justice League are in the same Animated continuity. It's that simple.
  7. That's ridiculous. They HAVE already done that by having Static team with the Justice League and with his numerous teamups with Batman. Newsflash: That shows him as being a part of the Animated DCU. The same Justice League that is on the Justice League show teamed up with Static on his show, that proves they're in the same continuity as does Static's team ups with Batman and Superman. It's really not that hard to figure out.
  8. No no, it wasn't like that. Sinestro had stolen Green Lantern's power battery and had framed him for a bunch of robberies. Eventually Static figured out what was up and they teamed together to fight Sinestro. At the beginning of the fight Sinestro made a comment about GL's Power Ring being out of energy. GL's reply: "I had a friend give me a recharge. It's a bit different, but it works." So it happened off screen, though we do see Static using his own powers to boost GL's powers to stomp Sinestro. Then he retrieves the Power Battery and does the proper Green Lantern oath. So you needn't worry.
  9. Uh....sorry that's incorrect. The fact that Static has teamed up with every member of the Justice League with the exception of Wonder Woman points out that the cartoon IS in fact in the DC Animated Continuity.
  10. As well as High Range Radio Hearing [more then once he's been able to hear police radio broadcasts with no help at all], a flash and using his electric powers to juice up his punch. In the past he's proven powerful enough to repower the Justice League's satellite and recharge the Green Lantern's Power Ring. My guess as to why they made him part of the DC Universe was to boost ratings for the show. The episodes where he teamed with Batman, Superman or the Justice League were heavily promoted as events by the WB. Now if only they'd stop the celebrity team ups.
  11. *shudders* And to think, I once wondered how Veitch's Aquaman could be so bad. Now I'm wondering how they could've hired him in the first place.
  12. I think he was the Hate-Monger for a short while, before the shapeshifting android. Later he was a part of the Knights of Wundagore that travelled with Quicksilver, not that he reformed he was in disguise.
  13. Yeah but they haven't done it lately.
  14. For Supreme, the offspring of some DC characters. Megawatt: The son of Static and Shebang. A relatively young hero in his twenties, he has his father's electromagnetic powers and his mother's superstrength and super agility. In addition to that, he gets his brains from both sides of the family. Very powerful and very smart, Megawatt was not only trained in his powers by his parents but also received scientific training from his Uncle Gear making him a decent gadgeteer as well as somebody who's naturally powerful.
  15. Well the New Knights of Wundagore are as smart as humans, though that doesn't neccesarily mean they're exceptional. A few of them have ventured away from Wundagore Mountain, it happened in Quicksilver's book. I forget the whys and hows of it, but Quicksilver became they're leader for a time. I think it was during the whole Heroes Reborn thing.
  16. The very idea gives me chills and makes me ill. This is the kind of story idea comics should just stay away from in my opinion. Sacrelidge doesn't make for good storytelling.
  17. And let us not forget one of my favourite scenes from Onslaught. Near the end Apocalypse plans to kill Franklin Richards because the boy might be a threat to him. The only thing standing in his way is Susan Storm Richards. Apocalypse threatens Frankline, Sue threatens Apocalypses. There is a staredown and Poccy backs off quickly. One of the many reasons Sue is one of my favourite characters.
  18. Anansi is a borderline suggestion from Static Shock. Based on the legends of Anansi the Spider from Ashanti myth and legend. Of course that's more in the realm of Thor and such, but still he is The Spider.
  19. And there's nothing in the 5th Edition Green Dragon's character that would prevent him from having a sister for Seeker to date, so it's really not a problem.
  20. A lot of impressive flipping, this guy would probably make an excellent movie martial artist since not a lot of people would be trying to fight back. Dunno how much good all that flipping is gonna do in a real fight though, it might wear him out and hand an opponent a victory. To be fair though, he did have some kicks and what not that looked pretty impressive. Other then that however, I'd say this gentlemen was somebody with the Psych Lim "Big Showoff".
  21. I think if he wants to keep the bill on his costume, it will have to become very less pronounced. I mean that thing's gonna get caught on all sorts of stuff when he's trying to sneak around, at least the way most people draw it. A hood or helmet more Gatchaman or Hawkman like would work much better for him in my opinion. As for the rest of it, he's going to stay a dark character of course but in my opinion he needs to take himself away from the Batman look. As long as he looks like a Batman clone he's likely never to get any respect [he needs to learn some more martial arts maneuvers but that's another thread entirely]. Perhaps we could go with the bird motif and do a more Hawkman looking costume? Perhaps a cross between that and the Batman-esque one? You know, following those lines, a set of wings like the old American Eagle would be a cool gadget for Nighthawk to have. It'd certainly make him far less of a Batman wannabe.
  22. Well I still think Millenium City Mafiosi would work with VIPER rather then oppose them, it's how they managed to avoid most of the trouble and inditements that weakened and/or destoryed other mob families. Besides, after Destroyer blew up Detroit, thier orginizations are in a shambles and hooking up with VIPER makes more sense financially, especially since they can't take VIPER head on. Of course in places where the Mob is stronger, that might not be the case. Hudson City Mafiosi would be very antagonistic towards VIPER since they'd have the upper hand in that situation, since at least three families could focus on the remains of the VIPER Nest [the Scatuccis and Torconnes being at war of course] and could probably expect help from the Yakuza as well since the emnity between the Yakuza and VIPER is well known. In fact VIPER and the Hudson City Mob might not clash right away, since VIPER would likely be hashing out it's problems with the Yakuza. Of course in a place like Hudson City, you can never be sure of that sort of thing. For some reason I think the Vibora Bay Mob is more concerned with DEMON or the Scarlet Circle then VIPER, but that strikes me as true with most mystic type places.
  23. It wasn't the Godfather, it was the Grandfather ["Though due to international copyright laws it is not." "Still we should respect him as if he was the Godfather." "Though he is not."]. He joined VIPER, as far as I know, to become more powerful and to gain revenge on the Champions for nearly killing his son.
  24. That's how I'd play them if I ran them in Hudson City. Actually, my VIPER agents there would be even sneakier. Bearing in mind I like to play VIPER as a major menace so there's not gonna be too much incompetence going on, the PCs will have to work hard in order to thwart the boys in Green. The whole plan would start with them finding a base for use that local crimefighters don't know about. While that's going on, VIPER agents of Constrictor Division are moving throughout the city in order to get as much information on the Hudson City vigilantes as they can. Already Media Specialists are moving into position in order to spread anti vigilante propaganda. Naturally the main VIPER agent will be making allies with local thugs, but mostly he'd start out gathering information on vigilantes and the criminals of Hudson City. In public of course he'd run a financial company or something, that's buying up all sorts of companys via the International Finance Bank. Once most of Hudson City's businesses are owned by him, he does a merger with Duchess Industries. Gee I've really gotta get a game going.
  25. That assumes the snakes in question get a choice in the matter Assault. I doubt VIPER would give them an option aside from, do what we say or die. In my game it would depend on the circumstances. In one city the Nest might be close with orginized crime in an attempt to form an alliance, like I could see that happening in Millenium City for example due to the Combination and what not. The Mob there has a history of joining up with other crooks rather then engaging in destructive gang wars. In Hudson City however, VIPER would be rebuilding and would face a very hostile Mob since the Mafiosi there can actually have a shot in heck of keeping them out. Just my two cents.
