Secondary Domain: Harmony.
---
Making one out of many could arguably be taken as an interference in Etterskell's domain, but it's reasonable that there should be an opposing pole, and it fits in nicely with Oeneus' existing domains.

Parts and wholes are one of Etterskell's secondary domains, and their gifts of alchemy and transplantation are about combining parts into new wholes. I'd call harmony a refinement or guiding principle. Not all combinations "work" -- as the Shoggoth demonstrated. Etterskell is grateful for Oeneous' efforts to repair the damage from the Big Oops.

I have struggled with my final bonus interference pick.  Here we go...

Mister Rancor had been steaming.  Ever since Alitheon had gifted the world lie detection, Rancor had been searching the depths of his dark heart for a way to overcome the so called gift.  He had come up empty, which spurred on the feelings of vengeance within his mind.

Then, Alitheon dared to gift him 'white, hot fury'

That was all Mister Rancor could stand.

"How dare he believe that he could present me with more fury?  Does he not know that no one has more fury than the God of Hate!  It is a slap in my face!"

Was there a way he could directly deal with Alitheon?  No, it did not seem he could.  So the vengeance would have to take a different path.

"I do not need 'WHITE HOT FURY' as I am the center of that.  So... I feel the need to share the Gift of Alitheon with all!"

Interference (bonus)Mister Rancor shares the WHITE HOT FURY gift from Alitheon with every living creature of the Chimney.

Sorry to hear that.

Can Cancer and Pariah let me know where they are at ?

Right planning for next year, as already stated all the gods will be related. So first pick will be as usual picking a domain. After which there will be negotiation to see what the relationships will be before we start picking. And to save time the world will already be picked as a sphere to save time. It will be a barren rock in space until people pick lands and seas or moons etc.

Since we're pretty much at the end, some personal thoughts on this one.

Spoiler

As I'm sure many noticed, though only one person said so to me directly, Nagus Sterling was inspired in part by the Ferengi (and WoW goblins, among others). Their philosophy is so formalized as to be a quasi-religion, and I wanted to explore that a bit. I was going to try to play up the 'positive' aspects of greed like ambition but got sniped on that end. So, I dug deeper into the ultra-capitalism angle. Hedonia was inspired by the histories of Las Vegas (obviously) as well as Orlando, two thriving real-life cities that were built on cheap, worthless land. I'm sure there are others, too, but those are the ones that I know well. I got to work in some classic greedy fantasy tropes like dragons and dwarves, too. At the end it twisted into a sort of crime lord drama, but that wasn't my initial intention. Perhaps that is a commentary on that way of being?

My story was not a shot at modern politics or politicians. Not specifically anyway. I tried very hard to veer away from certain allusions. My story was not about him. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.

Okay, I can make at least two of my remaining picks right now. I may have to ponder on others.

The Chimney World is a big place ... not infinitely big, but big nonetheless.

But even big worlds are made from small pieces. Nevertheless, the small pieces aren't infinitely small. And as such, there are spaces between even the smallest pieces.

These spaces are Strangecharm's special realm. Those fortunate few who, often by sheer coincidence, find themselves there awaken to something not dreamt of in the larger World. It is a place beyond the simple understanding of physical dimensions, someplace and noplace and everyplace all at once. It is a refuge from the weariness of the World's evils and strife. Time exists here ... but not quite as the World understands it.

Those who find their way here are perhaps the most fortunate of all the World's creatures. Or perhaps they see themselves as the most unfortunate. In any case, when they inevitably return, they are never unchanged.

Geography: The Place Between Places

Interference: Cracks sometimes lead to the Place Between Places on the way to other times.

All the Chimney World is made of sand, in one form or another. But there is one form that is particularly useful. Fitz uses it in his dune ships, and its substance is complementary to Aziza's very existence.

First created by lightning strikes, later crafted by artisans the World over, it promises a multiplicity of benefits and fills a legion of needs. Beautiful, useful, and desirable, few know that Strangecharm first brought it forth.

By small and simple things are great things brought to pass.

This seeker of wisdom, like so many before her, had been brought to the Place Between Places quite to her surprise. She took a moment to try to orient herself--utterly futile, since there was nothing here that corresponded to anything she knew from the outer World. So she decided to try to understand the Place for what it was. That helped, but not much.

After some time--how long, she couldn't guess--she called out to the ... whatever around her. "Why have you brought me here?"

You have brought yourself here.

That didn't sound right. "How did I do that?"

You chose the path that led here.

"I don't remember choosing to come here. When did I do that?"

When you chose to save the old man from the charging river horse three days ago.

When you were six years old and stole the candy that was meant for your brother.

When you picked up a book for the first time.

When you bade farewell to your oldest friend as he went into the World to find his fortune.

When you picked the yellow wildflowers on the right side of the gladed road instead of the purple wildflowers on the left.

"What ... what does any of that have to do with my being here?"

Those decisions, and a thousand others, have made you who you are. That is why you are here. Were you anyone else, you could not have come.

"So .. what do I do now?"

Be.

"Be ... what? Be who?"

Be who and what you are to become.

She stood in silence for an indeterminate moment. "How will I know who and what I am to become?"

Decide.

"And how am I to decide?"

Ask, and I will guide. Listen, and I will teach. Do, and you will become.

"You will guide me?"

I have always guided you. When you would listen.

"Why me?"

Not only you. I guide all who will listen. Go now. Be.

And she did.

Just a note.

High King Kallor was cursed by three Gods to never ascend to Godhood, to suffer physically and mentally as a mortal and to live forever. That was for killing a continent. In reply he cursed the three gods one to fade from public eye, one to be imprisoned in a device of their own creation and the last to be torn apart on a field of battle.

If only the Gandians could not fly, then life would be so much easier sighed Crax. The other Gods were watching him carefully. You kill one continent and they call you a murderer thought the God who suddenly smiled at the thought drowning Alitheon's gift. He needed to create something new as the other Gods had done. But they would not let him create something just to kill it.

Sneaking something through the cracks or into the sky seemed kind of desperate.

If he set up a citadel, a city or a country then the forces of Clarkent Kal would throw themselves upon it until it was destroyed. He had seen it happen too many times.

And then inspiration hit him. Just make it a place where the Gandians could not fly.

His father and Nagus Sterling had created cities so would he.

If Hope and Justice wanted a place to fight then they would have to come past legions of his people, the K’rac C’ho C’o who would protect the city. But that would attract Strife as the city would be fighting for its freedom. That made the god chuckle.

So the City of Sin, Amora was created. Six satellite towns around a hole in the sand and in the centre, the city itself. An invisible dome prevents anything flying over the city.

To get to the city you have to go to one of the six towns and cross a bridge. The city has some of the finest intoxicants on the Chimney, places of learning, temples to the gods, places of healing, the largest market for gossip, political organisations and thriving Thieves and Assassins’ Guilds. The whole area has the largest murder rate on the Chimney. It is rumoured that it is the centre of the Shades espionage network leading many to suspect Masque and Crax are working together again.

It is rumoured that you can find rare types of many things in the city like strains of Flora Intoxicana which attracts greed, obsession and thus murder.

Geography: The City of Amora, the city of Sin which the Gandians cannot fly up to and blast.
“To Nadiya Brightbringer, Goddess of Hope, I give: Rose Colored Glasses and Undying Light.
"What's this? What's this, an undying light? What's this, what's this? A way to see the future bright? Gifts can be refused, but oh this is just so generous. I could say I've no need but that that would be most disingenuous. The glasses, so bright, so chipper yet so clear! Oh Alitheon, you're being such a dear. I see Rancor, is sharing White Hot wrath, but gifts can be declined so get angry then be done and have a laugh. But Sharing is Caring and yes! The best!  Rancor you have inspired me! Let all have empathy!  I'll wear the mantle of the pink and rose and I guess that draws my power to a close oh watch as the sharing of goodness grows! WHAT IS THIS?

It might or mightn't be the cure.

But it's helpful I am sure!

What's this?

Kindness! To Care beyond yourself

It's Kindness! Compassion for the other else!

And Nadiya Brightbringer held up the rose colored glasses to the Undying Light, and scattered the rays of sympathy and Kindness and Compassion upon all peoples of the world.
