Michael Hopcroft Posted June 5, 2006 Report Share Posted June 5, 2006 Although it may rarely come up in play, there are charatcers in even nonpornographic literature who are well-known for their sexual skill (n addition to attractiveness and other considerations). some examples include James Bond, the film version of Cleopatra, and Kevin Dewclaw/Kindle. All three characters are formidable "marital artists" independt of and complimentary to their other story functions. Is there a way to model this in system should it become important? For example, a superspy may well seduce the enemy agent, but if he doesn't perform to her satisfaction it may well be a hollow victory. And in what sorts of campaigns or game situations would this actually become important enough that it would be wiorth the player's effort to put points into it, particularly in gaes where points are at a premium? The only issue that I see is if you allow it to be based on a Characteristic, which one would be most appropriate? I could make a case for DEX, INT or even CON. It's also an Everyman skill at 8- for most people who've been in a long lasting sexual relationship, with a +3 or more familliarity bonus when dealing with an established partner. Seduction, Persuasion, Acting, and many other skills can be used for complimentary skill rolls. Even Acrobatics and Breakfall. PS: Porn Actor, for example, would be based on techniques that look good on camera as opposed to techniques that are really effective in the real world. Of course, if one is building a seducer as oppossed to a seductress, it is only proper to have all the needed skills put together as some kind of package deal. It depends on cinematic you are going to be. If you're for some reason doing "Porn Hero" then yes it is helpful because it is in the genre. But in real life (judging from what I've read) the advantage/disadvantage is largely psychological rather than physiological for both people involved. One might be more visually stimulated and possesor have more confindence in himself. Being extremely well endowed and unskilled can be a drawback since you can easily cause pain or even injury. Funny thing is, I asked her once what she meant by "large" and the numbers that came out would describe average... which explained why she though she was lucky in that her bf's were all endowed with one exception. YMMV of course. All things being said, I would rather be a Lexington Steel or a Mandingo then a Max Hardcore or a Ed Powers. Comeliness is the most subjective of the Hero System characteristics. What any individual finds attractive may not be the same as what any other individual finds attractive. "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" is a movie title, not an absolute. Is black beautiful? Is bald beautiful? The anime fan may like her guys tall, thin, and vaguely androginous. Another woman may like her men hunky. Blonde, brunette, or redhead? Does a guy like athletic chicks or zoftig chicks? And this is just the tip of the iceberg as far as the subjectivness. What I suggested before (+5 PRE usable only with people of the appropriate orientation) is actually for something different than comeliness. There are just some people who have a natural sexual charisma that a) is higher than there charisma in non-sexual interactions and isn't based on their appearance.
