Chris Goodwin
Re: [Help] Characters to 5th edition The first one was probably a gas or poison attack; the second was probably something electrical.
Chris Goodwin
Re: [Help] Characters to 5th edition Back in 1e, 2e, and 3e, Flash was "Sight Only," hence it's legacy name, and was roll for Segments. And IIRC AoE also. 4e allowed "Flashing" of other senses, counted Phases, and changfed to Single Target. 5e went back to Segments and changed the cost. IE Targetting vs Non-Targeting. Which makes some sense. In first through third edition, Flash worked on Phases and was AoE Nonselective Target. It could also only flash normal sight. 10 points per d6. 4th changed it to single target only but kept the BODY = Phases. Still 10 points per d6. 5th changed it to BODY = Segments. 5 points per d6. Edit: This thread is giving me good reasons to update my conversion document more.
Guest Major Tom
Re: [Help] Characters to 5th edition I've just started a similar project myself, in that I'm attempting to update some of the characters from the 4th Ed supplement Normals Unbound by using some of the character templates from Everyman. So far, I've completed the writeup for Shanna Armbruster, and she's gone from being a 75-point norm- al to a 100-point normal. I still need to go over the writeup and check the math, but so far it looks all right. Major Tom Just got through going over the math, and Congresswoman Armbruster is a 175-point NPC now, as is her hubby Matthew (subject to change, however, depending on what sort of answers I get to my new thread). Has anyone else done anything along these lines with Normals Unbound? Major Tom
JmOz
Re: [Help] Characters to 5th edition The first one was probably a gas or poison attack; the second was probably something electrical. I made the first one a Oxygen destruction ray, the second one was a "focused Eneregy beam"

Just cheched my copies of 3rd and the real "FRED" [iE: First Revised Edition] and both say "Phases" ... Anyone got 2nd ED laying around to look it up? I'm almost sure at some point Flash was based on Segments.
JmOz
Re: [Help] Characters to 5th edition So I am trugging along, slowly but surely. As I have gone I have been making an excell sheet to organise them all, so far a real simple thing, now I am wondering if maybe I should add more detail to the excell sheets, would like your all opinions on what would be useful. Currently I have Name, Book that they are from, Stock number of book, page they can be found on. I am thinking of adding: Archtype (type), Origin, Team, and maybe creator Thoughts? Edsel
Re: [Help] Characters to 5th edition One thing that I found useful in one of the enemies books (don't remember which one though) was a listing that told if the villian was a member of a team, a loner, a mastermind or a mercenary (hired muscle). Is it a slip and slide type of thing? That would be my guess, from the days when there wasn't a Power to use to represent slippery slides. Probably use Change Environment now. A Super Villainous (A black albino with a Irish sounding name no less) who is based around "Flying Disks" aka Frizbees... Sometimes you just have to laugh Sounds like something Jack Kirby would have come up with. After he created a black quadraplegic who became the host for an avatar of Death on flying skis, nothing would surprise me. Still, the combat disk gimmick is quite reasonable IMO. After all, what's Captain America's shield if not a big metal Frisbee? What the heck supplement was that in? Either Enemies or Enemies II. Ohh, robots done, Ripper, Esper, Freon done Sonar, Radar, and Insectoid to go
