Question 4: How many ways can the 10^23 stars in the observable Universe be partitioned into galaxies of 10^12 stars each? A numerical answer is required, though you may [i.e., should] give a value for the log of the number.

I have a harder time than usual taking an on-line diploma mill called "Full Sail University" seriously because to me Full Sail is a brewery in Hood River, OR that makes stuff I am particularly fond of. I'd put Full Sail Amber as #2 on my list of favorite domestic brews.

ln( 1000! / 500! ) ~= 3300. Working it out on paper, you can end up within a factor of 30 or so of the right answer, which is astonishing considering that ratio (not its log) is about 3.3 * 10^1433. The roundoff error made by approximating ln(2) as 0.7, multiplied by 1000, is nearly a factor of 1000 by itself.
