Re: Famous Martial Artists in the Champions Universe?

As a side note' date=' I've been given the green light to develop a book of martial artists (for all genres and power levels) and it will include all of my NH characters updated for 6E. However, said book is after [i']Things[/i] and Mythic America. More as the progress and due date become relevant.

*nod* Great ideal. I for one, would defently buy such a book.

May I ask for a martial artest who uses his or her braided hair as a weapion?

Seeker!

No, seriously, there is a certain place for a tough as guts, not necessarily all that scientific (but potentially quite good), fighter from the Australian bush. It's a stereotype, but it's one with a certain degree of resonance.

Some sources:

The Jackaroo - an Australian comic variation on the theme.

Spyforce - a 70s Australian TV show.

Crocodile Dundee - 80s US movie.

Steve Irwin - oh dear.

Special Operations Australia - the Real Thing in World War 2.

Such characters could be superheroes, pulp adventurers, Dark Champions characters, or anything you like. Even Ninja Hero characters, since they don't have to be untrained and undisciplined.

Also, the Ninja craze hit Australia in the 60s. Little kids like me were busily throwing imaginary shuriken at each other before the Kung Fu craze (and its ninja extension) in the US. "Obviously" in a superhero world, that would because of our local heroes.

I think there is one already.

And nobody named Hercules from WotD? He's a media hound as written so he would be in the movies too!

Not in any Sixth Edition book so far, but that doesn't mean he couldn't exist. Changing his origin from Malachite to Teleios would be effortless.

There is a well-known superstrong hero called Johnny Hercules, but with no particular martial-arts skill attributed to him.
