1. Re: Parkour PS: Parkour Performer? With some reputation/fringe benefits to go along with it? Depending on how realistic VS cinematic you wanted it... a very cinematic approach could use Teleport: Must cross intervening space and say your character just manages to get there somehow...
2. Re: Heroes TV show regeneration I would say that someone with Regeneration gets used to not having to dodge attacks... their DCV goes down. Also, their 'defenses' are bought as super-fast regeneration, instead of the ubiquitous 'combat luck' that permeates the rest of the series. Same effect (not getting significant injuries), different appearance.
3. Re: Invisible Armor To play devil's advocate... IPE makes the 'power' invisible... making the defenses invisible is, arguably, making it so they don't appear to protect you. That there is some visual description to go along with this is just part of the game.
4. Re: Selective AoE is an advantage? In the APG, yes there is. I don't recall the price structure though
5. Re: Rare Triggers I agree that the value should vary on those grounds... my 'on my death' triggered explosion won't happen very often! For very very rare triggers, No Conscious Control might be a better fit...
6. Re: When sfx lie Q) Why can Bullseye, who probably has a whole lot of OCV/CSL with throwing stuff, and known as the man who 'never misses' never seem to hit Daredevil? A) Daredevil bought his agility as Combat Luck rather than DCV. Better luck next time, Bullseye!
7. Re: END Reserve? END reserves also allow persistant powers that don't have to cost 0 END... they can keep running off the END reserve. Also, END reserves are easier, usually, to justify focus or other limitations on than just normal END, which brings the real cost down in general.
8. Re: Invisible Armor Something like Combat Luck is sort of a necessity for game balance... no-armor wearing guys who rely on agility to survive in combat need *some* mechanism to survive the AoEs, Dive for Cover doesn't always cut it. I agree that it does cause some irregularities in SFX though
9. Re: Lantern Corps...Only Not I would put black as a 'secret order'... sort of a policing agency within the 'corp'. Their 'virtue' would be lack of virtue... the moral self-sacrifice to do what is necessary even when it may be immoral by other standards. Room for villains and anti-heroes in that sort of system.
10. Re: Lantern Corps...Only Not Honor, Humility.. etc etc... Ultima?
11. Re: Phantom Steed and if you did want the horse to be a viable target, you could always give it 'physical manifestation'
12. Re: Enough to Destroy A Planet? One doesn't need to obliterate the whole planet to destroy it though.... one only needs to punch a sizable hole in it and let gravitation and collapsing plates/fluids do the rest right?
13. Re: Invisible Armor Resistant Defenses are not always 'getting hit and ignoring it'. Combat Luck, and similar constructs, are about dodging or being hard to hit in some way. IPE could easily have a home there more than some Shape Shift construct.
14. Re: Combat Luck when you cannot be surprised I agree, if you punch someone with an obvious Damage Shield, no Combat Luck for you!
15. http://bakugan.wikia.com/wiki/Foxbat New giant mecha? Tiny marketing ploy? Either way... pure evil
16. Re: Invisible Armor Combat Luck: IPE.... so it isn't clear to attackers that they didn't just miss in the ordinary way, but instead were 'dodged at the last second'. Especially fun with some CSL: IPE so the attacker looks incompetent while they are really very skilled
17. Re: Phantom Steed I would make it 0 END, Uncontrolled... better simulate a summoned thing that way
18. Re: Phantom Steed In 6th ed: Flight, Usable Nearby, Uncontrolled
19. If a power is 'Obvious while being used' (Like skills, or Luck, or Body-Affecting Powers), and someone is granting the powers to another person via 'Usable By Others', then what is the default obviousness of the person granting the powers? Example: Person can telepathically aid another person with their combat knowledge... defined as Combat Skill Levels, Usable By Others. The CSLs are 'Obvious while being used' (you can see people fighting better, but don't know their skill when they are not fighting) but... the granter of the power is....?
20. Does a Universal Focus that has a power that is only usable on others (Not via a limitation, but as a base part of the power... like Healing or Transform) allow it to be usable on yourself? For example: The Alchemist brews up a few healing potions (Healing, OAF, blah blah blah) and finds himself needing a bit of a patch up himself. Can he drink one? Does it do nothing? Does he need to buy it as a MP with Regeneration for if he wants to drink it (and if so, what if it is in an alchemy VPP?). If the answer is 'no', then what needs to be done to make it so it works on everyone, even the original source of the power?
21. What is the visibility of skills being used as powers... In particular Overall Skill Levels and 5 Point Combat Skill Levels (as the base for 'bard song' type powers, usable on others and AoE as appropriate). Invisible? Inobvious? Visible?
22. Re: Bigger There are some 'Intermediate Growth Levels' in the APG that might help
23. Re: (5th Ed) Grenade Arsenal Actually, Partial Transformation *does* allow for changes to take place before the full body is rolled... but not for Cosmetic Transformations. Transforming someone into someone who cannot stealth is probably a Minor transformation in any case, not just a Cosmetic one... which means Partial Transformation would have a small benefit (paid for with, as always, less dice)
24. Re: Transform Self Transform Self can be useful to expand another Transform power that could be used on anyone, including yourself... for example: a Poison Cure (which, as discussed in another thread, can be difficult to pin down because of the variety of Poison-SFXed powers potentially out there) could be modeled as Transform: person into non-poisoned person. One could easily take that pill yourself, right? Not if transform-self is disallowed. Transform also serves as an 'anti-transform'... a way to turn people 'back' into their original state of another transform. If I were a sorcerer supreme, I could conceivably magically 'transform' myself back into a human from a ugly troll that I was turned into by another spellcaster... any other answer besides a Transform Self is probably temporary at best (or at least, I have not been able to think of one).
25. Re: (5th Ed) Grenade Arsenal The partial transform option means that even with only a 1 rolled, some paint gets on them... so the less dice matters less. Rolling their body or more would just mean 100% covered in paint. It is only +1/4 in any case. Still, I like the Uncontrolled Images for my color changing needs to avoid this sort of thing.
