  1. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread That's seriously nice! Alas, I must spread rep!
  2. Re: The Monster As Hero thread To make it extra monster-y, it should be a hammerhead. Because they just look so cool.
  3. Re: The Monster As Hero thread Now I'm seeing a horrible Cthulhoid tentacle monster wearing Spandex, a cape, and a symbol on its chest-equivalent.
  4. Re: Champions Universe History and Continuity He was actually killed and supplanted by a younger, crazier ex-protégé. Basically, the Championsverse version of Knightfall. Well, actually, Crusader did become Dark Champions-ified first, but he was still basically Crusader.
  5. Re: The Return Of... Steve's Chat! I'll add my voice to the "demand"
  6. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. I got Catspaw added to Piperka.net, a useful webcomics tracker. Once you've set up an account and subscribed to Catspaw, your Piperka update page will let you know when there are unread pages. It's especially good when there's a large archive you want to work through, as it will keep track of where you left off, and take you to the next unread strip. Possibly not useful to people who only want to read Storn's work, but if you've subscribed to over 30 webcomics...
  7. Re: Angel, the worst original character concept ever? Well, according to Wikipedia, Warren Worthington III took on the Avenging Angel moniker before joining the X-Men. Possibly he took the name from the original Timely character?
  8. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Not bad - could do with some more polish, but that will come in time. And the titles are kind of... generic. Very little screams "gaming" to me (even with the pictures in the monitors - it felt like the focus was on the monitors, not what was on them).
  9. Re: a [can]trippy question I thought that "cantrip" as meaning "small quick magic spell" was fairly well known...
  10. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread That is extremely nice! Must spread rep...
  11. Re: Fantasy Art Thread From the new Hero Boards Artist's Guild sketch-a-week: A dragon, because when I thought "think of something to sketch" that's what came up. Probably because I haven't drawn one in ages. Actually, I haven't drawn anything in what seems like months. I'm hoping I can get back into the habit... Scanned pencil sketch, took about an hour-ish. Fiddled with the levels in Photoshop a tiny bit and cropped it, but otherwise left it alone.
  12. Re: THE BOOK OF THE MACHINE: What Do *You* Want To See? It's gotten worse, with actual motorcycles...
  13. Re: What defines Hero ID He never had to "tap" the cane to become Thor - it was always depicted as a deliberate strike. Even a "thwack".
  14. Re: urban fantasy hero posts Shadowrun has always been an "A + B" setting anyway - it's not going to be too difficult to take "Urban Fantasy Hero" and "Cyber Hero" and mash them together...
  15. Re: Lucha Libre artwork! "bump"
  16. Re: Kryptonian knockoffs in CU? See, that's how you end up with John Byrne's reboot, which apparently nobody liked...
  17. Re: Doesn't this sound like a gadgeteer villain idea to take over the world? Sounds like Doctor Who: Rise of the Cybermen
  18. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread Looking good so far - nice composition. Looking forward to the coloured version
  19. Re: Hudson City Blues I'd add my recommendation as well (it's definitely the supplement I go back to reading again and again), but I can't beat one from Steve Long himself Although I am now curious about editorial madness...
  20. Re: Hero is TK projection of kid in coma So maybe he's saying that the current state of the comics industry is a tragedy? I could get behind that...
  21. Re: Why do the Champions waste so much time being "good citizens?" Letters of Marque were issued to sea captains, essentially deputising them to attack their enemies in the name of the Crown. In practice, they became legalised pirates, so long as they only stole the ships and cargoes of their country's enemies.
  22. Re: Hero is TK projection of kid in coma Perhaps he's saying he doesn't find comic books particularly funny... hence comic [sic] books.
  23. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine 7zip has always worked for me.
