  1. Re: Fantasy & Western Hero: Previous editions My bad. I started Hero with the BBB. I never really looked at the supplements for the earlier versions other than as reference.
  2. Re: Fantasy & Western Hero: Previous editions ALL Hero books, past present and future require the base rules, excepting the BBB and Champions. I've got a copy of Western Hero and while I only did an old west setting for a brief sub plot, it was the first 4th edition book that really handled (well, IMO) vehicular combat (stage coaches and mounted, IIRC).
  3. Re: Monty Haul DnD vets: need your help for NPC villain team I LOVE Munchkin. I have them ALL except Munchkin Blender. If you like to laugh at powergamers and like a quick silly card game...Munchkin is the shizzle. In fact Munchkin Bites just arrived with the last batch of Hero books!! WOOHOO! Haven't seen him around lately, but props out to DevoDog for introducing me to Munchkin.
  4. Re: Champions miniatures WOW!! Nice butt!!
  5. Re: The Meta X MR Wild Card Gene Syndrome Virus is Female Dominant!
  6. Re: The Meta X MR Wild Card Gene Syndrome Virus is Female Dominant! Check the avatar, baby!! Besides 'us gays' can recognise each other. There is a secret hand-signal language, a special colour and a secret handshake...and if all else fails I can always check the directory in the back of our newsletter. Ken and Blanka (sp?) were very close. Its the electric thing. Tres kinky. Phppt!
  7. Re: Monty Haul DnD vets: need your help for NPC villain team A warrior who is carrying: 4 spears, 3 swords (1 2 hander, 1 bastard and 1 short) 4 daggers 1 battleaxe 3 throwing hammers a mace a morningstar a shield full plate a 25' blow gun castanets and has Stealth. a short person with hairy feet and a ring of invisibility. calls everyone "precious"
  8. Re: The Meta X MR Wild Card Gene Syndrome Virus is Female Dominant! Depends. When I play video games (or MUD) I ALWAYS play a girl. The girls tend to be faster and more agile...while doing less damage. This suits my play style more. It is also quite fun (since I am EXTREMELY tall) for me to play a lil bitty girl and be standing victorious over the very beefy, male, defeated, furiously leaking pixilated blood opponent. The only case where this isn't so is when I play Samurai Shodown. Then I play Galford (see avatar), because he's gay (he's from San Francisco and he wears either tight blue or tight purple clothes) and he has a DOG! When I RPG RP I am almost always male. Not that I haven't played a few female characters here and there, but I am usually male.
  9. Re: How to do Jackie Chan Adventures I got to say...there have been very (very, very) few non-western movie moguls (if I go so far in my classifying) that I truly respect for their vision and ability...Bruce Lee (MHRIP) and Jackie Chan. I cannot say enough good things about either one. I, for one, would LOVE for Jackie to move more behind the camera. I think it would give him a better outlet for his creativity...and it would allow him to pass on some of his HELLA skills to the next generation of action stars...and I mean REAL action stars not wanna be Steven Segals (you ever seen Will Sasso do him? CRACKS my ass UP!).
  10. Re: Shapeshifting I try...its a gift.
  11. Re: Multi-Attack Actually it turns out we are both right. "Generally, no...[dramatic sense, license and advancement of the plot]." Steve's standard response!
  12. Re: Limited (restricted) Varaible Limitations? I've long thought END Reserves don't get their full due. This would be a great way to use an END Reserve. An END Reserve is a perfect power for any concept that requires a character to store up, or use up internal power. IceGuy has only so much water in his BODY, ER! LightDude's powers are derviced from soaking up sunlight, ER! END Reserve, END Reserve, he's our man. If he can't do it...well...get charges.
  13. Re: Multi-Attack I don't think this is quite correct. I believe that a Strike-Strike combo could be MPAed if it was defined as Punch, Kick. The whole MPA thing seems perfect for MAs. The limiting rules seemed, to me, to be geared more towards dual EBs. But that's just me.
  14. Re: Why would you...? 6 of 1. HKA: No Str (-1/2) RKA: No Range (-1/2) It usually comes down to personal preference. I tend to go the RKA No Range route myself. I think it might also have something to do with when you started playing Hero. I know that No Range has been a normal everyday limitation for a long time and the No Strength Added, while always available as a custom lim, is a bit newer.
  15. Re: Youth as a disadvantage As things go I don't care either way. The point totals remain the same. I also hand out some 0 point disads sometimes. New Hunteds, a temporary susceptibility or vulnerability etc. Sometimes it's all very appropriate for a player to buy off a disad. If he apologises to his Hunted (or breaks him out of jail) or makes nice with a Rivalry...seems fair enough to let em buy it off. Still won't stop me from chuckin on a couple 0 pointers just for grins!
  16. Re: Saving Throws/Resistance Rolls This would require a nod from the GM, but purchase some Damage Redux with activation rolls. Damage Redux - 50% (-6 Only vs Dragon Breath) Damage Redux - 50% (-1 Only vs Magic **) Damage Redux - 50% (-3 Only vs Sleep and Charm - Sleep SFX NNDs and Mind Control) etc. If you HAD to. Personally I don't think it's necessary. ** This would require a great deal of OKing from the GM since "Magic" as an SFX actually can cover a host of different types of attacks that would normally be defended by r/PD, r/ED, Flash Def, Mental Def, Power Def, Desol, Invis...etc.
  17. Re: Youth as a disadvantage Character's change over time. I've had character buy off limitations and disads. I've also had characters that swap out disads (Minor is no longer a lim but instead they pick up a Hunted). Yes, especially early on, players love to get new skills and powers...but after a while you are pretty filled out and they should start buying off disads and limitations.
  18. Re: Spells that work against pain On the high end, and with mucho GM approval, Takes No STUN, UaA?
  19. Re: Jade from Beyond Good & Evil Part of it is who owns those toons. The new The Batman is done by the same people that do Jackie Chan, and the rest are all DC types. Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, SpongeBob (IIRC) are all on DVD.
  20. Re: Have you ever taken a fall? I think I used to have a TShirt that said that.
  21. Re: Jade from Beyond Good & Evil Go J-Team! One more thing....
  22. Re: Something Star Hero needs, but hasn't. Now that I'm thinking about it, what we should all do is throw together a database. Have each person throw together some ship designs from a single system. First determine some groundrules: BattleShips have between x and xx DEF, Size of xx etc. 'Course, this would require classification of ships first: IntrerPlanetary Shuttle IntraPlanetary Shuttle Corvette Cruister Battleship Destroyer Dreadnaught SuperDreadnaught Carrier It could be fun. 'Course it would also help if you had Star Hero and TUV.
