  1. Birds do have a uniquely powersaving mode of locomotion - gliding. But you are right: They are not endurance hunting, but endurance prowling/searching (after all the goal/need is to not have the target be aware you are comming). However the example with the Kalahari people or Wolfes shows just how little "carry food and water" actually maters here. The viabiltiy of hunting large prey in general depends on your ability to actually use or conserve it all - or at least have the leftovers lie far away. While they do not pay Garbage Collection fees, having something like that close to your camp invites carrior eaters, predators and disease. Not to mention the smell.
  2. Specifically what you would try to to is a Ranged Attack or move by with Velocity Bonus from FTL. From the point of the ball you are doing a FTL move-through. But FTL (like any non-combat movement) can not be used for Velocity Maneuvers - because that is way beyond what the given cost is balanced for. This is Hero we are talking about. Asume there is a rule to prevent insanely overpowered stuff like that.
  3. In order to give a Complication like Dependency you would need Transform. Possibly even goes to "turn into willing slave". It exceeds what mere Mind control can do by a few degrees. But if that power is not realy useable during combat/adventure time, then this power does not need a writeup either. You just have a special effect for him having followers with a certain Complication, same way Viper Agents wear matching Costumes (Distinctive Featrures complication). He does not need a follower power either - you just add them like you would Viper agents. The Evil Mage in the Castle with teh 1000 demon guards does not need a base or 1000 followers. Both parts are just there because on it's own the Sorcerer would be no challenge for the players. After the adventure is over - if the castle exploded or not - he will not re-use it.
  4. That. You really just have a special effect for having written him up on differnt powerlevels and using wichever fits the story. Unless he can somehow change his power mid-combat, there is nothing about him that would not also apply to any other major villain in a campaign I can only give the usual "Bossfight advice": Lower his defenses, but give him Damage Reduction (the percentile, post defense thing) around 50%. It allows everyone to have some effect, but also makes him really hard to Stun or Knock out. Be carefull with obvious weaknesses like no Mental Powers and lows strenght/grab and entangle escape.
  5. Duplication has a specific case for stuff like the "Multiple head hydra". Look up the sidebars for it in 6E1. However the Hydra has some decent game affectng ability per head. It really depends how important that part is and how much effect you want it too have. On the simple end: Reasoning/special effect for a bunch of powers and limitations. Look for the effects having a "Speedster brain" could have on Skills. Most natural limitations of the human form can be circumvented - even sharks developed the ability to only sleep with half a brain. More Complex end: Computer (the 2nd head is effectively another mind, stuck to the same body and with no special ability to influence the physical world). Duplication Multiform How nuts you want to go today? One of the Character is Heroes of the Strom (thier take on Moba's) is Cho'Gall. It is a character for two players: One player per head. The first player controls the movement. The 2nd controls powerfull offensive spells.

  7. Wealth for 15 points is a power of the Character as much as blast and Life Support (Age and Breathing). You are not in your right to take that just away as GM. If you do not know what game effect it has, you propably should not let it cost any points to begin with. The kind of story you describe, sounds like one of two things: Character Episode. It is a story about how Tony Stark/Bruce Wayne lost all wealth, dealt with it and came back out (possibly stronger). His heroing will not be majorly affected by it (BW was bankrupt during the whole Dark Knight Rises Film) or will be put on hold while he deals with that totally new vector of issues* A special effect for removing the wealth perk to spend the points on something more usefull. I think within limits players should be allowed to "radiation accident" there sheets. He might introduce some old skillset he had not used for a while (not needing it before being wealthy). *The classical rule of Greek Tragedy is personal failure: The slightly longer version is the heroes Journey: Both are not easy to translate to the game table. Version B above or as core of a story (that the player wanted) is about the only way I could see that fitting on a RPG table.
  8. So many options: Telepathy (obviously). Detect Also didn't Mind Scan allow for a certain "level" of Telepathy on a high result? I always felt like the Force/Dragonball Powerlevels/Bleach Powerlevels could be best moddeled using existing Mental Rules, especially stuff like "hiding your powerlevel" and "I felt a presense I have not felt in a long time".
  9. Silverfire and Lightspeed travel: There is a wierd drive, called the EM drive. It keeps operating outside our understanding of the laws of physics by violating newtonws Motion and energy laws left and right. Unless you look at a certain interpretation of inertia (Quantised Movement). Stop trying to change that." As I get it the EM drive is inverting inertia, to create propulsion. Or the universe is saying "weren't you supposed to be moving a lightspeed? Stop trying to break already!" Controling Gravity is possibly impossible. However who needs that when we can control inertia instead to generate movement? Venus can actually be more interesting to colonise then mars, due to much higher Solar Radiation input you would get: http://www.space.com/29140-venus-airship-cloud-cities-incredible-technology.html Mars surface is highly radioactive (cosmic radiation) so you could not use all that real estate and had to dig underground. Furthermore you also get less then 50% of the solar power there. And at that point just going to Sunny Venus seems that much more promising.
  10. Maybe the corelation si more Endurance Hunting breeds intelligence? Pack maneuvers (and thus social interaction) and endurance hunting corellate. It is a lot easier to do in a pack. If I rememeber right, Dolphins are pack hunters, highly social and vexingly intelligent for thier ecological niche. Could it being enduring swimmers/divers like whals but much smaler makes them able to archieve that? Birds seem to be the only exception where it comes to social hunting. But then again they have to be build ultra-leightweight wich is bound to have negative effects on intelligence viability. Having the skies "mostly to themself" also gives them superior suprise strike abilities.* *Actually why does everyone think the Snake is like a D&D Rogue? The Snake usually warns you before it strikes unless it is hunting. The birds however are just waiting for a opening to strike at you from the open sky, a direction you can not defend against. Humans. While we do not have natural fire powers of any sort, we did develop manipulator limbs. Wich allows us to control and use fire perfectly fine, propably better then any animal with the ability. We learned to control it so well, we do not even need a endothermic reaction anymore - just waste heat from superheated metal is far enough. Anything we learned to control using our hands is effectively a part of us humans as much as the claw and beak is part of a bird. Saying without tools the "humans would be defenseless" is as useless as saying "without gills, the shark would drown" - duh! That is why each one developed the respective ability!
  11. Apparently nobody watched it. So I wrote it down: (after Bludhaven was mostly destroyed by Chemo splashing right into city center). "Bludhaven was my city. To Life up to an ideal. And now, to have that destroyed. But making your mark isn't always about winning. Sometimes it is about loosing. Loosing badly. And then getting Right. Back. Up. Again." You can't really be the guy that keeps "getting right back up", if you never fall down to begin with. It is kinda like wondering why Wolverine "is the best at what he does", when in reality he keeps getting hit in fights constantly - it is so the author can show off his healing factor.
  12. AFAIH the Bestiary has rules for "Swallow Whole" forms of Grab/Entangle/Acid Damage Over Time. Otherwise you have to build the mechanic. What use will it have in combat time or adventure time? Can that snake person/thing swallow (N)PC to take enemies out of the fight? Or is it something like the human ability to breath and chew? In short: Why do you think that needs a writeup/how could it affect gameplay? Any likely practical use in the scenario you are playing? i.e. a Dark Champions game where "not leaving a corpse" might mater? A fantasy game where it is usable like a Bag of Holding? A place to store weapons and extra manipulatory limbs (like Orochimaru from Naruto)?

  14. That gives me some intersting thoughts. Apes actually were the first ones to use 2-limbed longrange motion - using thier arms to swing along branches and lianes. 2 limbed locomotion promotes intelligence. Not only from calories point, but also from the point of motoric complexity. It is a lot harder to keep balance with only 2 limbs. Doubly so when the medium you move along is as unstable as branches and lianes (so you need to be able to gauge danger and stability quickly). They were also the first to develop manipulatory hands (as a result of using arms to swing). Hands once again promote intelligence. Tool use allows a species to far exceed thier natural limitations. I asume bipedal locomotion has disadvantages in sprinting over 4 limbed. But with tools or the save haven of trees throw in, we do not need to sprint as much.   15. 2369.03.12: The First fleet under Admiral Wesley Dillard has reached Odlamon, the nearest Qara Binam colony. Lead by the Battleships Defiant, Yamamoto, Vigilant, Gettysburg and Agincourt are 10 Cruisers, 20 Destroyers and 60 Crovettes. With the UNS Endeavor the first Proton class battleships is also on it's way. The enemy 3rd fleet was spoted nearby in Shantari Space (Protectorate of the Hadadeshi). 2369.05.09: A comibnation of genetic supersoldiers and Robot legions started the ground attack on the Odlamon colony. By now 4 enemy Hyperspace enabeled fleets have reached the front. The 1st Fleet is deployed to intercept them whereever possible. 2369.07.29: The enemy 1st Fleet takes heavy casualties in Wicklar. 2369.08.13: The escaped remainders of the 1st Fleet have been annilated in Piddahfir. The 2nd through 4th Fleet in Hadadeshi spaces are the next targets. 2370.02.02: A subspace powersurge has been detected. This is unlike anything ever recorded before and it seems unlikely that it is the doing from any local faction, even the ones we are at war with. 2370.03.02: The source of the Subspace surge appears to be clearly the Achemar system, deep in Xanyr concord space. This new enemy has been dubbed "The Unbidden" and it apperas thier goal is to simply every sentient being in the Galaxy. The Xanyr prepare a counterattack.* 2371.03.01: A overambitious counter offensive in Odlamon got wiped out by the defending armies. 2371.06.17: Fulbadan has been secured by our Psionic Legions. 2372.02.01: The enemy 3rd Fleet has been annihlated in Iriamus with very minor casualties only (1 cruisers, 5 corvettes). 2372.08.28: In the midst of the Turmoil of this war, Gertie Flint has been re-elected as president. 2373.01.18: After months of hunting Wesley Dillard finally manages to catch up to the enemy 2nd Fleet. After a short skirmish the enemy emergency jumps out. 2373.03.28: Veer Gupta died today at the age of 111. No enemy foul play is asumed or likely. 2373.11.04: Gene Warriors. For a long time only our enemy had these beings. The elite of thier army, augmented lightyears beyond the normal capacities. Now we have that technology as well. Building up Gene Warrior armies on earth has begun. 2374.09.16: After switching targets and months of hunt the 1st Fleet managed to Engange and wipe out the enemy 4th Fleet in Iriamus. Minor casualties only (4 corvettes, 2 destroyers). 2377.06.24: After countless failed atempts, allied troops finally manage to re-capture the Iriamus System. The 1st fleet has returned to full strenght and starts hunting the weak but mobile 7th Fleet, that has been attacking Hadadeshi border systems. 2378.05.03: For 278 years, 5 months and 3 days the Warp drive in it's various itterations has worked out excellent for us. But now even that once phenomenal technology has been outdated with the Psi Jump Drive. Based around folding space using nothing but the focussed mental power of the crew, this new drive will revolutionize space travel. The 1st Fleet has been ordered to return to save space to undergo this and other, older retorfits. Meanwhile hte 3rd fleet will quickly retrofit and take over front duty. 2378.09.02: It took a minor eternity, but the Khessam have finally joined us among the stars. The plan is to integrate thier people into our soceity as soon as possible. 2378.11.15: After a monumental 191 day effort, the retrofitting of the 2nd Fleet with Psi Jump drives has been completed. 2379.01.06: In unprecedented Record time then 2nd Fleet has reached the Front, while the 1st is still on thier way to even start the retrofitting. 2379.02.02: Realising they have no chance against a fully upgraded and battlehardened Psi Jumpdrive equipped fleet in thier Desolate military state, the Council of Qara Binam relents. Thier holdings are split somewhat evenly. 2381.01.01: Nothing to report on this Newyear. Footnotes: *I give the unbidden little chances. They Xanyr are superior to me in all 3 Power Metrics. And I could end them just by sending both my doomstacks into that system. And the AI in 1.1.0 is actually able to fight these guys. 270 years after start is not a good time to appear in the middle of one of the biggest Powerhouses. The unbidden are kind of "there". But not doing anything. Apparently the AI is not able to properly assault the portal. And the Unbidden are not able to advance through the Xanyr space at all.
  16. The Council of Qara Binam. Spiritualist from of the "Honorbound warrior" AI type. The big power in the North/weast quadrant of the Galaxy. At total of 14 Planets to liberate is on the list for this war. Thier fleet power might end up being an issue. If we can beat them is highly uncertain. We will see.
  17. 2335.01.01: It has now been 135 years since we made out journey to the stars. Many lives have come and passed. And there is yet no end of the conflicts in sight. 2335.02.01: Plans are being made to reinstate the original Djomar state from the Bavi. Chances are good that the entire south of the Bavi empire could be taken out - if a military victory is possible against that huge Neighbour. 2335.04.04: The first of Army of a new Generation of Psi Warriors has oficially reached operational status. Despite the heavy losses the took, General Derom had'Marn is a firm believer that "a primary psionic army will proove able to coutner even the genetically enhanced supersoldiers of other species", wich means both the Hadadeshi and the Bavi. Over the next years the remaining robot legion will slowly be repalced by more advance Psionic legions. 2335.04.29: "The Zro must flow." The Navigator guilds name was choosen intentionally due to the similarities between how the whole concept of "Enhanced Psionic Navigation" works in reality and the old Books. Over 20 new Corvettes have started productin to comemorate the inaugration of this newest earth Spaceport module. 2335.12.01: Despite a very close race with Gertie Flint, Migeul Sanchez has once again be re-voted as president. 2336.07.02: "Attack of the Clones" is what the press called it, in reference to a old cultural Phenomenon called "Star Wars". We just made sufficient breakthroughs that the creation of massed clone armies is viable. However there is no obvious military benefit to use them over our current Psionic and Robot armies. 2337.01.10: In a suprise move the Technological Enlightenment of the Bronze Age Khessam in Dawcan Systems has been Greenlit. The Enlightenment had long been considered infeasible, both due to the time it would take and the fact that thier manerisms can be quite Repulsive (in particular thier died of only eating long dead carrion, like the Vulture those avians resemble. However recent success in altering the manerisms of the conquered Hadadeshi people seems to have convinced people that is no longer a problem for integration. However the process is expected to take close to 500 months (almost 42 years). 2338.07.14: Tones have gotten very rough between the Qara Binam and thier Uthabulon Neighbour. It seems like they Qara will soon makea move on thier territory. 2338.07.29: While we were still laying the groundwork for our Enlightenment, the Khessam advanced into the Iron Age on thier own. Thier fundamental understanding of Metallurgy will speed up the Enlightenment by about 50%. 2338.08.04: While the pre-sentient Grollferp in Alpha Centuari have long been considered beneath our notice, a new Initiative was started to uplift them. As they already show considerable promise in physical Endeavors, enhancement of thier Physical Strenght and Resilience will be the main goal of this uplifting. 2338.08.16: What was long expected to happen, finally did happen. The Council of Qara Binam declared war on thier Northern Neighbour, the Uthabulan Serene Grand Duchy. 2338.10.02: The Uplifting of the Grollferp is complete, a living testament to our commitment to find new forms of life - and create them, if they do not yet exist. 2341.02.28: After being a hot contender for a long time, Gertie Flint has finally been elected president of the UNS. 2341.09.05: On the path to true humanoid AI, humanoid Robots were the first step. Droids are the second. We did not dare yet to go the 3rd step - Full Synthethics capable of recieving citizen Rights. But out power has been growing steadily, while the Djunn Shard has Stagnated for centuries. We now feel somewhat confident that we could beat them, should they again interfere in our internal maters. Under Veer Gupta, research into Synthethcis has begun. No concrete plan about widespread implementation exist yet. 2342.05.20: The 1st Fleet has been oficially completed for the time being. 5 Battleships, 10 Cruisers, 20 destroyers and 40 corvettes will be the new Standart for fleet opeartions. Soon work on imrpooving the 2nd Fleet will begin. 2344.05.04: The truce with the Galactic Concort no longer applies. We can now continue to conquer them. The Goal is simple: Ceeding of the 2 colonies each in Vhallas and Lytirin system, wich includes the remaining space of the Confederacy and half of the Screk Holdings. 2344.05.15: The war has officially been declared. We are now on our way. 2345.05.10: Our newly Formed Psionic armies will have thier first real combat, during thier attack on the 2nd Vhallas colony (the minor 1st one had already been taken by Hadadeshi Gene Warriors). The landing has begun. 2345.06.09: The enemy command structure on the ground has been utterly disrupted. The enemy ability for effective attacks is massively reduced, making this more or less a cleanup job for our army* 2345.07.13: Against a superior number of defensive armies and Militia, our Psi Corp was victorious. The groundfighting took only slightly over 2 months, most of wich was cleaning up disorganized pockets of resistance. 2345.11.15: Do electronic brain dream of electronic sheep? Soon we can do studies on this question, as we have completed the groundwork for Synthethic populations. 2346.03.29: While the Uthabulan Military lies in ruins, it appears they will make the Qara Binam fight for every square kilometer of planetary surface. 2346.08.19: The last of the Screk Fleet and Spaceports has been destroyed. Now the fleet turns it's attention to the Hadadeshi "front". Not much combat is expected there either, except on the ground of course. 2347.02.30: A allied Hadadeshi Fleet reached Lytirin. However the enemy Hadadeshi Fleet is much stronger then anticipated. The Hadadeshi will either have to gather all thier troops or leave defeating that fleet to the UNS Admirality. 2347.06.02: In a very agressive but also very successfull operation, the allied Hadadeshi Fleet under admiral Japra Tysala managed to defeat the enemy Hadadeshi fleet down to the last ship. Sieging of hte planets can soon begin. 2348.05.12: Mission Accomplished. Despite fierce resistance, the Hadadeshi are now once again unified under one Government. The colonies in Vhallas have been organised into the "Screk Sector", wich is planned to later include the remaining 2 Screk worlds as well. Sophie Paquette of Asgard is the Governor of the new System. 2348.05.16: With much fanfare the ban on Artificial Intelligence was lifted today. Not only that, but the new laws go into the exactly opposite direction - giving all AI full citizen rights. 2348.06.13: As expected after thier (almost complete) victory over thier northern Neighbour, the Council of Qara Binam sets it's eye upon the ever growing threth from the North/easter quadrant - the Condign Concord. While nominally consisting of 5 members, only the Republic of Mura has a significant fleet. How warfare would turn out is everyones guess. Many argumentate that the Concord can blame this reaction on themself, because they admitted the 3 remaining Uthabulan Systems into thier alliance. 2348.10.17: The north/eastern alliance has made the final step and transformed into a Federation of 5 member states, to better defend against the Qara Binam. 2349.01.18: (I quit and relaoded the game as the deathchances appeared to be not working properly. Some imminent deaths are expected. Miguel Sanchez suddenly hat a 30% per month chance, a indication that he did bug out). 2349.04.15: The first half of the 2nd Fleet has been completed. 2350.08.24: Wen Mao, Governor of Earth, died at the venerable age of 109 today. 2351.08.28: Gertie Flint has been re-elected as President 2352.11.08: It is time to finally fully integrate the Screk into the UNS. A proper war declaration has been prepared. Thier allies in the Star Entente will not be able to assit them, as they are stuck on far east border of the galaxy, with 2 big nations in between. 2353.07.13: Despite heaviest orbital defenses the Hadadeshi Gene warriors swept into the Ladiom Colony and captured it. 2353.10.22: With half the orbital defenses still operational, our Psi corps dares the ground attack on the Baccotri colony. 2354.01.01: Just days after the successfull capture of the Baccotri system, Admiral Zeinab Farrokhzad died of natura causes at the venerable age of 113. Necommer Admiral Wesley Dillard is tasked with taking over the 1st Fleet. 2354.07.17: The final Screk colony has been taken by our Psi Forces.** 2356.02.04: The Hadadeshi just put there Eyes onto the territories of the Qara Binam to our north. 2356.09.30: Governor Minato Miura of the Ligira Sector died today at the ripe age of 139. Cheng Zu (28) takes over the sector. Meanwhile with Eguloordh (47; Horselike Orassian) a retired Fleet officer takes over Governance of earth*** 2357.12.06: Even with thier generally accepted Citizenship, there was still one minor factor keeping Organics and Synthethics appart. This difference has now been abolished. Any being, wheter human, Xeno or Synthethic is allowed to serve as leaders in the United Nations of Sol. 2358.04.29: Scientist and President, Francesco Oliviery had been either of those in his 136 years of life. He will be dearly missed on the road ahead, yet we can not stand still. Japra Pok (42, Hadadeshi) takes his place. 2361.02.29: Vhallas V was always a huge world and now that terraforming is complete, it is also a highly habitable world for our more desert dwelling Citizen. The Otagan Colonists - not having much in the way of pre-existing Cutlure - choose to simply name the planet "Gobi", like the desert on earth. 2361.09.04: Who does not like planetwide direct access to high speed Extranet and Television? Some might call the new Constructed Uplink stations in the Asgard (Dawcan), Wenzhou (Stuckon) and both Vhallas colonies "the rich mans mind control". But we see it as a simple benefit we can not withould from those citizen that are far removed from Sol, our ancestral Capital World.**** 2362.07.29: The Djunn once again demanded we stop working with AI. However we are not forced to accept it this time. Thanks to the help of our fellow Synthethic citizen, we now have the power to withstand that ancient menace. The UNS will not be bullied again! 2362.10.07: The final Screk war is finally over. The enemy relented and is now being integrated into the UNS. 2363.12.05: Wen Huang (109, Human, Eartward Sector Governor) died today. Fattic Umlatika (47, Trakpocian) takes his job. 2366.11.18: Scientist Nicoletta Cappello died today at the age of 111. Necommer Wen Liang (54) takes her spot. 2367.06.17: Today scientist Dieter Schmidt died at age 109. Marissa Burness (35, Voidcraft expert) takes his place. 2367.08.15: Proton class battleships had been proposed long ago when we stumbeled over realife proton torpedoes - wich have the interesting property to skip right past shields. The weaponry evolved, but the name stayed. "Proton" Class battleships are equiped with Neutron Torpedoes, energy projectiles able to skip through shields. 10 ships of this new class have been ordered - 5 per fleet. The idea is to have a counter against any incursions by a fallen empire and ther heavily shielded ships. 2367.12.11: The UNS Copernicus was today lost with all hands. Wen Liang was not long for this world. During a routine re-survey in the Heka System a sensor anomaly was spoted in the atmosphere of Heak II (Gas Giant). For as yet to determiend reasons Wen Liang choose to enter the atmopshere to get a better reading, wich naturally led to the destruction of the ship.***** Due to the diffculty of retrieving the wreckage from a gas giants upper atmosphere, the exact details may never be known so neither human error, mechanical failure or foul play will ever be able to be ruled out. 2368.02.15: In order to replace the lost UNS Copernicus, the UNS Hubble has entered service today. Elina Renard (42, Voidcraft expert) has been tasked with continuing the re-survey of the Heka System. 2368.09.30: Today the Hadadeshi proposed to start a Liberation war agains the Council of Qara Binam. It includes almost the entire southern half of thier empire. We agreed and the war is now Officially declared. Footnote: *breaking morale = -75% Damage. Kinda a big thing for Psi warriors wich have very little HP to begin with. Of course they still maintain most of thier manpower, so killing them does not go any faster - just less dangerous. **By all intents I had won now. However one minor goal had been to replace a certain government in the east. Either way I had to wait for warscore to accumulate. ***Massive bonus to ship cost and buildspeed on my main Shipyard? Deal! ****For some odd reason Individualists can build "Orbital Mind Control Lasers" (massive - Ethics divergence, but also massive energy maintenance). I take it to just view the special effect distinct from the game effect. And just came up with a proper "Individualist" Special effect to justify them. Might get patches out next time around. *****7% Fail risk. What do I get? Critical Failure!

Autoimmunity (immune system attacking it's own body) is a thing and quite natural on a low scale. But if you get the immune system to attack perfectly health cells - like muskles - they effectivey become a bacterium with a very strong turf defense and nothing to stop them. You would still get the usual illness reactions (heightened temperature and white bloodcells) from this - after all the immune systems fighting what it considers a "enemy" - but it is a fight it can not win. And there is nothing there to stop it. I would asume the brain and children in belly are protected from this (not certain about children - do they share thier mothers white blood cells?). Both have notoriously powerfull defenses on top of the normal immune system. The brain in particualr does not even have direct contact with blood.

So far nobody has found a retort ot that, but some really far out people manage to just ignore it and repeat the same thing again like a broken CD. I life by a simple motto about freedom: You can do whatever you want to do, as long as you do not interfere with the wellbeing or freedom of another person. But people who believe the earth is flat when living in a 1st world nation with hundreds of satelites and satelite images are in my view not mentally capable to make thier own decisions. Especialyl not decisions corcerning other peopels freedom and wellbeing. Nothing bad about that state: Any person below 18 years is not considered fully able to make thier own decisions. And people with strong mental or emotional disabilities are also not considered able to make thier own decisions (temporarily or permanently). These guys are just some of the those special cases that need some throrough help to figure out what is wrong with them. And soon. Before they try to do stuff like becomming intimate with a Wall Socket, or something like that (it was the only thing that made about remotely the same sense I could think of).
  21. The map near the start of the year 2335: As can be seen in the South/west, the Trakpocian are still pretty strong. They are still rejecting a invite into our alliance due to "differences in power" and because the Rax'Thalak threath has been reduced considerably as they consolidate thier holdings. The Screk are reducted to 3 systems, but that is still barely within what I can vassalize or liberate in one go. The Menjeti in the Republic of Braddam are still trying to catch up technologically to finally move from protectorate to Vassal. At least now thier tech holds on the 2nd worst comparative level to me, rather then the abysmal "Pathethic". While they did help during warfare, thier fleet power is laughable 2k (I got 14k in the primary and 7k in the secondary fleet). North of me the Bavi are still as strong and uninterested in eastern expansionism as ever. It appears they did cause some damage to the Zum Forerunners in a recent war, as thier fleet power has gone down considerably. Thanks to me the Hadadeshi Confederation has absorbed most of the Confederacy (the Religious Hadadeshi state). But two systems and 1 Protectrate are still holding onto thier dear life. The South/East: The Rax'Thalak are still the major power, but they have not expanded in nearly a century. The other two big Powers is the Alliance between the Xanyr and Photecian, where the Xanyr are clearly the stronger party. They are slowly assimilating the other empires in that region of space. North/east: Two ancient empires are noticeable, the Djunn Shard (Keepers of Knowledge) and Dorbolan Guardians. Otherwise the Colelctivist/Spiritualist/Pacifist Ethics has totally taken over that quadrant. The two Hissma States (Hissma League and Bardegan) keept out of the aliance, having no direct threats. But I can not see things being friendly between the Condign Concord and Council of Qara Binam - pacifist and fanatic militarist do not mix. North/west: The Council of Qara Binam is still the dominant power and they are Honorbound Warriors. The easter and (soon) southern threaths might be the only reason they have not yet overrun the Uthabulans yet. The power of hte Fallen ones is waning more and more. I finally got equality on tech, Naval Capacity and (with some) even Fleet power in sight.

  24. For all intents of commerce and travel, the EU is a single country. Sending goods or money from one end of the EU to the other is not any harder then sending it from one end of the US to the other. That used to be not the case. Sending goods from britain to germany would have to cross at least france on it's way. Or go the much slower route by sea. Or the much more expensive route by air. There were easily 3 sets of currency, Import/Export taxation and 3 custom agencies on that way - sending the goods a mere 2 timezones away. Travel between european countries used to be as hard as travel between the US and Russia, depending on local politics and conflicts of the time. Europe before the EU was kinda like Africa, just more industrialised and having most internal wars behind it. If britain leaves, every good and every piece of money has to pass at least 2 costums borders: The EU and the UK's. 0 to 2 is quite the increase in overhead. If Scotland realy does leave the UK to join the EU on it's, that might give it a unique position: Direct, wide land border with the remaining UK. While also being part of the EU, simplifying all commerce with the EU and rest of the world. (I know there is the tunnel between Britain and France - even used it once myself - but that one has tighly limited throughput. Not exactly the ideal tool for real global commerce; while the land connection is much easier to use). Actually that does make a good idea for a Economically minded Scotisch Supevillain.
