  1. Nah, with parents like that, the kid is inevitably going to rebel in his/her teens and become a superhero.
  2. Microman II: Sneak onboard the mothership, either spy for allies, and/or start destroying stuff. If possible, ask PRIMUS to "borrow" a tactical nuke, and bring it along. . .
  3. I still think disadvantages should subtract from your point total, not add. As is, one 350 point character with 50 points of disadvantages, and another with 150, appear to be the same power level.
  4. Just out of curiousity, is it SOP for a Dark Champions campaign to monitor evidence left behind at any combat or similar incident??
  5. Most of the Ultimates are scientific in origin, but they aren't really interested in world conquest or control. They mostly want either vengeance against somebody who wronged them, or money. And I'm inclined to keep Gravitar on the list, if only because of her capability to trash basically any conventional military force, or wreck an entire city.
  6. Okay, here's a campaign idea somebody suggested: Create a character who is one of those "lesser superhumans" that can't make it as superheroes. The kind of people who have, say, 50 AP limit or less, 75 total points tops. Then you take such people who have the right kind of personality and inclination, and recruit them into the military. Put them through basic. Put the ones who are really good through special forces training. Now, you have a team of 350 point ( or higher, depending on how you count mundane equipment ) characters that may have relatively little in the way of powers, but have boatloads of skill, discipline, and teamwork, trained to deploy against the toughest situations threatening the US. What kind of characters would you build for this??
  7. Actually, for an Abrams, the tanks frontal armor probably *is* tougher than a solid block of steel. IIRC, its rated at the equivalent of 50+ inches of steel.
  8. Binder still exists, but I think he and the Ultimates fall under the Master Villain threshold. Mostly because they have no interest in world conquest or destruction at all.
  9. Out of curiousity, who is the Harbinger of Justice, and what is he like??
  10. Un, even the frontal armor of an Abrams is gonna take 10 Body/phase from 200 STR. The top armor would take 20/phase. And an Abrams isn't *that* tough of a foe on its own; pretty much any knockback will incapacitate the thing, and the turret can be removed without overcoming the armor. Its just that its got enough armor and gun that you can't just trade blows mindlessly.
  11. If you are referring to the 40 defense "Cybertank" in TUV, then you need not worry, thats the equivalent of an Ogre. It does not represent a real world tank by any stretch of the imagination; it represents a future tank designed to toss around tac nukes as its main weapon.
  12. Actually, Wildcat would probably be one of the characters to warrant Martial Arts ( boxing to be specific, along with some wrestling and dirty infighting ).
  13. Actually, I meant it more as a clever turn of phrase than anything else. And me, I do peg the Supreme Serpent as a Master Villain. While VIPER certainly would exist without him, now that he is around, VIPER is more or less his "weapon," with him aiming and firing it to his will. I'd also peg both Dark Seraph and Fiacho as Master Villains. Dark Seraph has boatloads of personal power not too far short of Gravitar, a whole team that is more or less under his control, and plot device ritual magic. Fiacho has a similarly mostly-loyal team, and makes up for lesser overall power with considerable skill at terrorist tactics.
  14. I got Watchers of the Dragon recently, and in it is a writeup for the Disgustingly Powerful Ninja, a ninja built on almost a thousand points. Anybody ever used this writeup for somebody in their campaign??
  15. A Master Villain is a villain who poses a credible threat to the entire world. Officially, the following are Master Villains: -Doctor Destroyer -Menton -Istvatha V'Han -Takofanes the Undying -Gravitar -The Warlord -Teleios the Perfect Man -Mechanon Who else in Champions canon do you think would qualify as a Master Villain?? Alternatively, do you dispute the placement of any of the above in said list??
  16. Personally, I'm inclined to just treat shaped charges as a straight RKA ( no AP, unless you think DU sabot is APx2 ). The "armor piercing" nature of the weapon is covered by its straight size, and any explosive side effects are left to DM adjudication unless the weapon is explicitly designed to generate shrapnel.
  17. Not if they hit via the Explosions. Remember, Explosion reduces the damage depending on inches of distance. Then again, the Hellfire probably *shouldn't* be Explosive, seeing as its an antitank weapon. . .
  18. Probably my favorite heroes in the Silver Age Sentinels setting are the Untouchables, a cross between the X-Men and the ( heroic ) Thunderbolts. I know the SAS/Champions crossover book will have conversion guidelines, but has anyone tried to Champions stat these characters?? Does anybody else share my like of them??
  19. Thats exactly what we are doing in the campaign I'm in. 750+ points, we are the Sentinels, the World's Greatest Heroes. And we have what looks like an Istvathan invasion coming soon. Fun.
  20. Ultimate Cap isn't limited to "peak human" by any stretch of the imagination. He's blatantly superhuman, easily in the same class as the Golden Avenger ( possibly with more enhancements ).
  21. Re: charater links Not bad ( the pricier ones, that is ). Reed desperately needs a tech pool, though, and I don't know what rules hack the Human Torch is using to stick the Nova Flame inside the multipower. They all could also use some more in the way of "rounding" skills.
  22. I don't see whats so wrong with having the PCs adapt. Part of super hero RPGing is that you don't suffer many of the limitations of the genre. . . like plot-induced character stasis.
  23. Good up to a point, except that Agents *aren't* average humans. They are above average in characteristic, skill, and gear. And there is alot of stuff nastier than an AK47 available to agents of organizations like VIPER. Like the 4d6 INT Drain/4d6 DEX Drain rifle. . .
  24. Well, obviously, you have to fudge matters to get the effects workable in Champions rules. I have seen no game that *did* handle superspeed without a lot of hacking, aside from WEG DCU ( a system that never came within lightyears of the concept of "game balance" ).
  25. Um, Flash *has* acted and reacted at relativistic speeds. He's had entire fights at relativistic speeds.
