  1. I say ditch the entomologist gig and get PS: Etymologist. Go for maximum misunderstanding.
  2. Yeah. That was a joke. Read that paragraph again, especially the part at the end where I incorrectly assumed, "You get the joke."
  3. You mean they pursue their own brand of justice which puts them into conflict with established authority?
  4. Alright, I see the gauge for my Self-Righteousness Tolerance Indicator (SRTI) is flashing "FULL," so I'll check out of this thread. Interesting ideas, and certainly worth pursuing despite the baldfaced political rants. However, if I wanted baldfaced political rants, I'd play D20.
  5. So he's not the most personable guy. Low PRE, a Psychological Limitation (or maybe Social...?), and no Seduction skill. The rest is probably best done through roleplaying, IMO. Personally, I think putting a Limitation like OIF on a Disad is plain wrong. Instead, I'd scale back the frequency of the Disad to make it worth a little less. What's next, Armor Piercing DNPCs? Explosive Age? Megascale Enraged? And so on. You get the joke. Alternately, you could buy Seduction with Side Effects that effect both the character and the target.
  6. Re: need opinions on Disadvantages Disads don't have Power Modifiers. Why give him Unluck on Seduction? Just don't buy him that Skill. Similarly, instead of the Susceptibility, give him Vulnerability: PRE Skills, x2 Effect. Also, I don't see how either of these really connect with the background you've provided, but that's neither here nor there.
  7. Nope. Vancouver is a Nuclear-Free Zone. Then again, it's not a nuclear vessel (or "wessel," if you prefer), so the only reason I bring this up is to show off my knowledge of Vancouver, BC.
  8. Hmm.... Well, keep in mind I like the complex power constructs. 5d6 END Drain plus 4d6 STUN Drain, Linked: END Drain, Trigger: When Target's END Has Been Drained To Zero Does this work? I mean, do Linked and Trigger work together the way I want them to? The way I see it is this: the Linked modifer comes into play when the END Drain is activated, but the Trigger prevents it from taking effect until the condition for its use is present. The other way would be this: 5d6 Drain, END or STUN One At A Time, Can Only Drain STUN If Target's END Is Zero Or Below Yes?
  9. Hm. I see your point. Mechanically, a way to make it work would be to say that for every 10 points of Growth purchased, a penalty to OCV is assessed only with regards to targets that don't also have an equal amount of Growth. Or, if we're talking about a giant or something that's permanently huge, the increased difficulty to hit smaller creatures could be a Physical Limitation. For that matter, you could have a house rule that by default, Growth is purchased with Side Effects to accomplish the same thing.
  10. I know this has been answered eight ways from Sunday, but I thought I'd put in my two cents anyway. STUN damage is taken when spending END puts you into the negative. When you're completely exhausted and you insist on pushing yourself further, it's harmful. Draining END is not the same as forcing someone to spend END, so it doesn't cause STUN Damage. Further to this, as has been pointed out, spending END after an END Drain has put you at negative END will do STUN.
  11. What about a Social Limitation? Also, a Physical Limitation: Incapable of Speaking Foreign Languages.
  12. I dreamt about fish and had fish for dinner.
  13. IMO, you should buy Invisibility to Mental Group, Inherent. He's a blank to mentalists-- Mind Scans don't detect him, Telepathy can't target him, etc. And, if that's not enough, a decent amount of Mental Defense, in case they do manage to target him.
  14. Drain does Knockback? I'm not sure that Limitation's, y'know, legal. Also, you might want to put Ranged, or at least Personal Immunity, on this.
  15. Psychological Restriction...? Constraint? Also, re: grouping Advantages/Limitations together, what about instead of listing everything twice just referencing the duplicates?
  16. I can't tell you how disappointed I was the first time I bought one of these books and actually opened it. It's all words inside! What'm I supposed to do, read?
  17. Yeah, because you know what? That kind of "LARP" is called "sex with a real human being," and I don't think I need yet another book for that. "Hang on, honey-- let me check the stats. You're playing the Contessa, right? Okay, okay... and I'm the chauffeur... ah, alright. Here it is, page 7." *zzzip* IMO, this kind of nonsense in a game is generally a sign of immaturity, not the opposite. But hey, to each his own.
  18. I'd like to amend my earlier statement.
  19. Oh, I'm not prudish. I'll do anything to anything, but in-character blowjobs aren't satisfying roleplaying fare for me. I just don't understand what would be attractive about sitting around with a group of guys graphically describing our characters having sex. What "rules" could this book possibly have for love in a fantasy setting? Or sexuality? Wait-- don't answer that.
  20. Thank God this book has been published! I can't tell you how many times a quality game has been held up by a player asking, "Wait a minute-- what are the rules for her being on top?" or "How can I combine my love of gaming with my love of masturbating?" Now, at last, we have the answer! Has this won an award for Most Useless Gaming Product yet? If not, when's the ceremony?
  21. Yikes. I repeat: Yikes. Are you talking face-to-face or PBeM? PBeM seems a little more manageable, although I'd still steer well clear of them, but a face-to-face "erotic" game... that's just... no. And it goes without saying that a LARP would be worse.
  22. Having read the entirety of this thread, I think I can safely say Steve & Co. have two major issues to tackle for the revision: 1. Editing 2. Margins
  23. Wow! That's crazy! You're really out there! And so on. Most of my PBeM characters are female, but virtually none of my face-to-face characters are (I can recall two in the past 20 years). The thing most of my Hero characters have in common is that they're all interesting concepts that don't work very well with the points I'm given (whether I'm given 150 or 500); I always manage to think of something out of my league.
