  1. So last night, Ogre's trying to demolish a building. I hit him with a BOECV Entangle with all the usual bells and whistles, and he's stopped in his tracks. His puny EGO prevents him from overcoming the Entangle's 4 BODY and breaking loose before the authorities can see to him. Yes, yes, it was undeniably clever (and really my only option, since he'd just knocked me out by throwing me through a door, a car, and a fruit stand), but it got me to thinking. Can he ever get out of this? Barring GM fiat, plot device, or some other deus ex machina, can the weak-willed ever break free of a BOECV Entangle?
  2. Re: Your Character's Greatest Fear? Ultraviolet, my light manipulator, has a paralyzing fear of the dark. And having her Secret ID revealed. Also, on a much lesser order of magnitude, she's afrraid of not getting the media attention she so richly deserves. Tyke, my 11 year-old pigtailed brick, has a fear of heights. Fortunately, her Density Increase prevents most people from taking her where she doesn't want to go, including up several flights of stairs. Black Talon X is deathly afraid of having her Secret ID revealed, and of her father finding out what it is she does at night. It's crimefighting, BTW. Didn't want anyone getting the wrong idea. Virgil "Hangfire" Kincaid, my alcoholic ex-gunfighter in a Western game, fears nothing more than killing again. Though a highly skilled gunman, he refuses to touch a gun (Uncommon, Total). Martyr, my empathic healing/harming linguist, would probably fear illiteracy, or something equally unlikely.
  3. Re: Phermones Yes, yes, Nexus, we all know what a perv you are from another thread.
  4. Re: Get Thee Behind Me, Santa! Yeah' date=' I was settin' that up for [i']someone[/i] to spike. May as well be you. I went to ask a co-worker about the name of whatever this denomination is and ended up in a discussion about the Pledge of Allegiance. So it goes. Bart: "Dad, what religion are we?" Homer: "The one with all the well-meaning rules that don't work out in real life. What's it called... y'know... Christianity."
  5. Re: Wall running Flight, Only On Surfaces covers top-of-bamboo-pole-fighting and heads-of-crowd-running equally well.
  6. Re: Roleplaying Is A Tool Of Santa Wow. I totally thought this was a joke for a good eight or ten panels. The line between satire and reality is razor-thin when it comes to organized religion.
  7. Re: Statting up NPCs on the fly. Move along. Nothing to see here.
  8. Re: Statting up NPCs on the fly. IMO, this is too much "on the fly" to be convenient. If I were you, I'd come up with basic NPC templates to trot out when needed. Y'know, Soldier, Goon, Businessman, Scientist, etc. That way most everything can be statted out beforehand for a variety of NPC types, which eliminates you having to say, "Alright, he'll attack-- I wonder what his STR is? Would this guy have an EB?" You don't have to use every template you wrote up, but if you need them, they're there. Also, it allows for quick and minor variations on a theme, so that each opponent the PCs face doesn't seem completely identical.
  9. Re: Superhumans pulling an Authority It's a two-parter, but if they're showing Part II tonight I'll miss it, because I'll be playing Hero. Stupid gaming! Making me miss TV!
  10. Re: Superhumans pulling an Authority Hey, did anyone see Justice League last night on CN? It posited an alternate universe (Alternate universe? In DC?! That's crazy!) in which the Flash had been killed, and the Justice League was called the Justice Lords. They were a bunch of self-righteous assholes who kept everyone under their superthumb to maintain order. Reminded me of this thread, except I was entertained by it.
  11. Re: Munchkin Challenge! 8. Case closed!
  12. Re: A new Silver Age Hero like world I agree. All my characters get AK: Campaign City. It's the only place to be! Everything happens in Campaign City!
  13. Well, if you spend 30 points on +3 SPD, that's what you get: +3 SPD. If you spend 30 points on Succor, you get 6 to 36 points of SPD (unless you get it with Standard Effect); with Self Only, it's 20. Overall, it looks like SPD isn't the best stat to Succor. In fact, unless someone can show me the error of my ways, it looks like Succor will almost always be inferior to Non-Persistent, Costs END stats-- unless we're talking about Succoring END or STR. EDIT: Correct-- Costs END and Non-Persistent don't go together. Forgot that. Even still.
  14. How far apart are they? If A is close enough to complete his Move Through in one Phase, then yes, he hits B before B can EB him. If not, then A moves as far as he can move towards B by the end of the Phase, and B gets his EB attack.

Hmm... I'd build it as a 12d6 Dispel Post, No Range, Explosion. Major Transform (Discussion Group With This Post to Discussion Group Without This Post) is just overcomplicating things.
  16. Having seen the outcome based on his combat computer is just a special effect, IMO. I'd buy up lots of Overall CSLs and DCV and leave it at that. Well... and Find Weakness, Defense Maneuver IV, Rapid Attack: HTH, PSLs vs. Sweeps... that kinda thing. The Midnighter rocks.
  17. If the potion grenade is actually killing it, why not just go with the RKA...?
  18. I'd go with HA, Indirect, AoE. Teleporting is just the SFX.
  19. Florida, huh? The Hanging Chads R.E.T.I.R.E.D. The Fire Island "Friends" And so on.
  20. I second (and third) these suggestions. I'm not familiar with the show, but the Transformation construct is unwieldy and ineffective. Think about what this power is actually doing: killing or banishing the demon. I doubt it's transforming it into a demon that puts up a hand and says, "Alright, alright... you win."
  21. I have a teleporter for whom I've bought something similar, except I bought it without the Limitation. Rapid Teleportation: +6 DCV The special effect is that he's able to teleport just slightly out of harm's way as something of a reflex. If you're talking about someone "phasing in," though, that sounds more like Desolid.
  22. I know... that's what I find so attractive about it.
