  1. Re: Master List of Limitations Gone??!! I'd be in on that, but I'm stil stuck with HD2. I'm planning on upgrading soon, probably before the end of the year. Actually, I might be updating before the end of the month. And since NaNoWriMo ends on Nov 30, I'll have lots of free time begining Dec 1.
  2. Re: Master List of Limitations Gone??!! Yeah, I found the cached versions as well. I noticed a couple of days ago (Sunday, I think), but kept forgetting to post about it. Here's hoping that it will be back soon - the updates give me hope that the site is simply being revamped.
  3. Re: Hooligan_X and Proditor Present: "The Third Semi-Annual Great HERO Figure Contest Gah. I'll have to post mine tomorrow. My improved lighting rig is not working right, and all my pics are either bright blurs, or dead black.
  4. Re: Secret IDs: In or Out?
  5. Re: Secret IDs: In or Out? Got it for ya. (Well, part of it, anyway.)
  6. Re: HERO figure contest update, and a question. Hah - all I have to do is find the writeups that I have for a couple of painted figs (that I have used as heroes before), and take some pics. And with a new deadline, I have plans to try and mod a couple figs, and time to do it!
  7. Re: HERO figure contest update, and a question. I heard about the contest a little late to slap together any sort of entry. If the deadline is moved another week or two, I might take a break from NaNoWriMo and churn one out.
  8. Re: PCs are not the most important in the world You know, up until you mention this as illuminating the strengths of the PC group, I thought were talking about the PC group.
  9. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... It's not from a game session, but we're working on character ideas for a new campaign (a Galactic Champs game) GM (on discussing Public IDs): The only thing is that when you go into an area controlled by the Big Baddie, you'll be essentially marching up to the front gate, flag proudly waving, and ringing the doorbell without learning anything about how he operates, what resources he has, what he can do, etc. Me: And that would be different from our normal modus operandi how, exactly? I mean, I think we have proved that our normal MO is "break in, break things, make a huge mess, and think about it sometime next Tuesday." I don't see us behaving much differently in a CHamps 3K game.
  10. Re: Rationalize this.... No, because that would be just silly. You might as well claim that a chef can fight off multiple attackers who are after him due to a mislabelled VHS tape.
  11. Re: Skinning cats You could skin a cat with any power - just add the limitation "Side effect - skins nearby cat(s), always occurs"
  12. Re: Rocket-propelled Chainsaw You could add "Bulky", then expand the charges to 5, and make it Auto-fire.
  13. Re: Rocket-propelled Chainsaw Neat, but I still can't rep ya for it. (Now I am vaguely tempted to write up the van from the old Car Wars story "And Of Course, It was Black.")
  14. Re: Rocket-propelled Chainsaw My reality meter broke when I tried putting the phrases "Rocket-propelled chainsaw" and "Real Weapon" together. I think y'all are trying to lower the cost, just so you can get more of them for your army of goons. . . not that there is anythng wrong with that.
  15. Re: Rocket-propelled Chainsaw
  16. Re: Rocket-propelled Chainsaw Nah, not that many. Since it starts at 18 points, for 98 points you "merely" get 65,536 of them.
  17. Re: Rocket-propelled Chainsaw Maybe something like this? Killing Attack - Ranged 3d6, +2 Increased STUN Multiplier (+1/2) (67 Active Points); 2 clips of 1 Charge (Increased Reloading Time; -1 3/4), Real Weapon (-1/4), Inaccurate 1/2 OCV (-1/4), Reduced Penetration (-1/4), Limited Range (15"; -1/4), 18 points
  18. Re: Rocket-propelled Chainsaw "You must spread...." Man, that thing is kewl. I never wanted one until I saw it, and now, it must be mine!
  19. Re: A Question for the Super-Tech designers amongst us I agree with that. Unless the character has suffered from the cold in the past, it's simply a case of "I've never been bothered by the cold. I am, after all, an angel." If the PC has suffered the effects of extreme cold in the past, then yeah, you'd need some sort of gadget to keep Providence warm. Otherwise, pay the 2 pts and handwave it.
  20. Re: Would you play… Actually, it sounds a lot like the whole Wild Cards universe. I can see the appeal of it, if you could tell the GM "I hate Bricks, but like Energy Projectors and Martial Artists. Anything along those lines is okay" and if you had the right group/GM.
  21. Re: Question: What different Game Systems for Superheroes? They are, by Eden Studios. I was going to include it (since the CCG is already out), but figured that, since it has yet to be released, it could wind up as vaporware.
  22. Re: Order of the Stick And, they did make sure to mention that "[Y]es, the book contains a complete translation for all of Haley's cryptograms." I'll have to pick it up. I need to pick up all the KOTD Bundles of Trouble too - I want to reread some of the early stories, without risking damage to my collection.
  23. Re: New VA campaign throws up need for 'unusual' weapon rules There is, but the only one which might apply would be to modify the Entagling Sleeves example (basically, an EC with Entangle, Teke and Stretching). I'd probably go along that route. The whole thing is an OAF with Limited Range, the Entangle might be Beam, No Barriers, and Concentration (the latter to reflect the fact that you have to maintain a pull on the lasso to keep the target entangled).
