  1. Okay, this is going to sound strange. Under 5E rules, movement powers cost END based on active points. Here's the question: If a character makes a half move, how many active points is he paying END for?For example, a character with 25" of Flight (50 AP) moves 13". Now, he had to have the full active points in the power for 13" to be considered a half move, so you could argue he should pay 5 END for the half move. On the other hand, he used only 13" of movement, which would be 26 active points, or 3 END.Which interpretation is correct?
  2. Re: Hero System women are all insanely attractive The hot redhead is Cateran. You can find her writeup in CKC. She's an immortal mutant who's been around for about 350 years. She also stands 6'4" tall, so you'd have to be into tall women...Don't know who the other one is (primarily because I don't know who you're referring to). If it's the one with the blue outfit and the blue glowing choker, it's Sapphire of the Champions. Otherwise, I don't know.
  3. Re: Why that costumeClayman doesn't wear a costume. Being a shapeshifter, he needs to be able to liquify, grow extra limbs, and so forth; clothing just gets in the way. He fashions a mask and trunks out of his body material, just to preserve his identity. And modesty.
  4. Re: A costume challenge That's just...wrong...
  5. Re: Invisible to Touch Group?Invisibility to Touch could be interpreted as "feels like something else" - in the case where you have, for example, a Chameleon power. That way, if your character is holding up against a wall with his Invisibility, someone who touches him thinks he's a part of the wall. But it's a bit weird; it overlaps with Shape Shift pretty badly.
  6. Re: Where else do you roll down? For folks who grasp a triviality with such fervor, should we care? They'd likely find something else to dislike if Steve changed the mechanic tomorrow.Methinks the HERO-haters doth protest too much...
  7. Re: The President wants to talk to youIf the President is looking to some low-key outsiders for help, it's possible he fears that his internal resources have been compromised in some way - either infiltrated by foreign / supervillain assets, blackmailed, or something of the like. Perhaps he wants a less well-known hero with some significant detective skills to ferret out the possibility.
  8. Re: Needs Input Bummer. I thought it was a great concept. I'd've allowed it in a heartbeat.

  13. Re: Wiggling your way out- Entangle based on Dex
  14. Re: Can you suffocate foes with an Entangle? I'm going to agree with Hugh. I think the suffocation power needs to be based on the rules for suffocation - holding one's breath. If you can hold your breath underwater for several turns without suffering ill effects, why should you suddenly start taking significant damage from what is essentially the same thing - lack of oxygen? The effect isn't that powerful, so the cost probably shouldn't be either. If the person has several turns to escape the Entangle - or be rescued - before starting to die, it's not likely to be tremendously useful in most combats anyway.
  15. Re: Flash: Inner ear/ Sense of Gravity/ Sense of Balence That's gotta suck...Just my $0.02 on this whole "sense" thing - I think the traditional 5 senses are those which can be consciously perceived. Of course, the body has literally thousands of other sensory functions (in controls engineering we call them feedback loops) that control things like heart rate, body temperature, limb position, balance / coordination, and so forth. (It's really pretty amazing when you stop to think about it.) These are "senses" in that they transmit information to the brain, but not in the context of consciously perceiving information. You could also look at it as those items that bring in information about the outside world, as opposed to internal regulatory mechanisms. For the purposes of the game - I heartily agree that the Taste sense is probably mostly meaningless (unless you could concoct a poison that couldn't be tasted), and feedback mechanisms like balance are far more meaningful. My first inclination for simulating a loss of balance would be a DEX Drain or Suppress (like Kinetik can do). But that's just me.
