  1. That and Death Race 2000 are perhaps his best works. If there are any better I would not know what they are.
  2. “Being terrified but going ahead and doing what must be done—that's courage. The one who feels no fear is a fool, and the one who lets fear rule him is a coward.”― Piers Anthony
  3. Not to mention that the Coyote's technology has a tendency to fail at the most crucial moments. Very much like the Russian forces running out of gasoline and other supplies.
  4. Here's another one celebrating the spirit of the day--
  5. Doggone it--that wasn't supposed to happen. Condolences to his family and friends. Lord rest him well.
  6. But how do we keep it going after this war is over? How do we keep from falling back into nationalism and petty squabbling after the Russian troops leave Ukraine and Putin, one way or another leaves office? Those are the questions we need to answer.
  7. Some time ago I saw this meme that said, as best as I can remember--"If I had to choose between free speech and the right to bear arms, I would choose to bear arms--because then I could say whatever I want, because I have a gun." Reminds me a bit of the scene in the first Avengers movie when Loki forces the crowd to kneel before him. It also reminds me of this item.
  8. I really liked Superman Returns. I had heard it described as a "love letter" to the first two movies--and that is one love letter I'm proud to sign, with a little heart dotting the "I" in my name, and a whole bunch of XXXs and OOOs afterwards. More than that, it's a love letter to Superman in general--which is more than I can say for the "Snyderverse" movies. I had heard others say Snyder claims to be a Superman fan, and I find that hard to believe, given his professed admiration for The Dark Knight Returns. Superman did not come off too well in that one, did he? He was reduced to a government chump, doing their bidding no matter how harmful or distasteful. That's not something I particularly care to see. I liked Henry Cavill as Superman, and hope to see him again as Superman--but I would rather have someone else direct. Bring in Patty Jenkins, or bring back Bryan SInger. Then perhaps we could have a good Superman movie again.

"Feelin' lucky, pal? You know I am!"
  10. I'm going with these guys. . . (They're green. Trust me.)
  11. Better an asteroid half the size of a giraffe than an asteroid the size of Texas.
  12. Memoirs Of An Invisible Man and Modern Problems were really good to my mind. If you're looking for a portrayal of an ordinary guy who acquires super powers, you could not do much better.
  13. Alter Ego On KickStarter This looks like a really good story, and I hope you'll consider helping to fund it.
  14. Just post that picture of Picard facepalming like everyone else--
  15. Elon Musk Challenged Putin To Single Combat On the one hand, settling the matter through single combat would save a lot of lives and a lot of misery. On the other hand, Musk doesn't really have the standing to make this sort of challenge, and Putin, being a former KGB agent, ain't exactly a pushover. Musk should stick to developing space vehicles so we don't have to rely on Soyuzes (Soyuzhi?) for a ride to the ISS.
  16. Power Bands? You mean like this guy?

    This should be work-friendly, if not kid-friendly. . .
