  1. Doctor Sleep, by Stephen King. Ever wonder what happened to little Danny Torrence?  Read it and find out.  A tale of redemption, family, and sacrifice, both by protagonists and antagonists alike.

I was really surprised how good that book was. As a child of an alcoholic, and one who actually broke the chain, this really rung true. The shining I read as a kid (9 or 10) and really really identified with Danny. I was very trepidations about this - but it was fantastic. Not quite It or The Stand good, but just half a step down like Rose Madder.

  2. Interesting who she is and her powers, but I would have liked to have seen her develop abilities more along the lines that allowed her the computer hacking she has shown. Maybe something like Amadeus Cho (Mastermind Excello).

I actually like it the way we got. She's a super hacker because she has Mad Skillz, the powers.. .eh they're just extra. :D

  3. Boxing Glove Arrow.

I've loved the show, but since it started I wondered if they were going to have a boxing glove arrow. They did.

The show started with a "Longbow Hunters" tone, and has worked itself up to Bronze. I've loved it.

  4. I could see Civil War working if it went something like this (and I didn't really like the comic storyline)...

Avengers 2 seems to imply some stuff with Tony 'This is the end of the road I started us down" (or whatever the quote is). So Tony sees rampant destruction from Ultron, and Hulk (hence the Hulkbuster armor). So he goes too far, which is in keeping with Tony, and heads into the idea of superhuman registration, at which point Steve is "No, I fought that war once, back in the 40s). And they have a lot of heat between them, and the "war" is fallout of that - nothing Earth and World Shaking - not even it hitting the actual US Gov (or not all of it).

It would keep the core "emotional" center of Civil but be something that could be tolerable in the MCU.

  5.

There is progress in gaming as a whole, I had noticed that a few of the Pathfinder Supplements I'd picked up this last year - notably Towns of the Inner Sea had definitive gay relationships mentioned...not only that but homosexual interracial ones...notably a Halfling clerk and his troublesome (for the corrupt town) dwarven sheriff lover and a Dwarven mage and her Half-Orc wife.

I also noticed the Pathfinder comic depicts the Iconic cleric as gay. (her name escapes me at the moment)

    Kyra.

Paizo upper management was stated they wanted a diversity of characters - species, color, gender, orientation.

Golorian has the equivalent of easy to get contraceptives (magic or herbal) so that sexuality itself is not viewed as wrong - this is also there to help the idea of female adventurers and such, to counter the historical issues of women in those kind of positions.

It is something that the company is very aware of, and works on. Their iconic Inquisitor is a half orc.

  6. I first became aware of him from his Champions work - The Blood being the first one I remember by name. His Hero work was fantastic with both Strike Force and Lands of Mystery being incredible to read. Then I looked over some of my older D&D stuff, and saw him all over the BEMCI stuff - Especially Karamekios and Hollow World. Read Doc Sidhe and Sidhe Devil, then was overjoyed at seeing him doing Star Wars. The Wraiths are still my favorite Star Wars books out there.

Right after Strike Force came out, I got his number and called him - his number wasn't unlisted. He took half an hour out of his day to talk to an overeager fan that called him out of nowhere.

And incredible talent, and an amazing man.

  7. Assuming a normal world - I'd love the ability to transform an object (or person) into a repaired/new/perfect version of itself. Buy old car, resell. Never have to have home repairs. Heal. Never have food go bad.

Not flashy - but really useful. :D

As a side effect, LS disease, poision and regen. And the ability to give that to someone else - because who wants to live forever if love must die.

  8. I've always considered Superman, and to a lesser extent Captain America as the model of a heroic outlook, and always felt that Castle should be in jail or executed for Murder, my choice is clear.

In an action movie setting where he is the only one fighting the mafia, Castle makes sense. I enjoyed those.

But in a superhero world where there are characters and codes that make someone a superHERO (movitavtion and appraoch are as much above normal codes as the powers), someone who does kill, even if pointed in the correct direction, is a murderer.

  9. If reduce everyone's OCV by 2 and everyone's DCV by 2, you have a power worth zero points because it has no effect.

If I have to roll a 12 or less because my OCV is 7 and my target's DCV is 6, I still have to roll that same 12 or less if my OCV becomes 5 and the target's becomes 4. Such a power would have no point and therefore cost no points.

Now, if you reduce EVERYONE ELSE's combat values EXCEPT YOUR OWN, you have effected a noticeable change in your favor. You have put yourself 2 OCV and 2 DCV higher compared to everyone else than you would otherwise be.

Personal Immunity is noted in the Opening Post.

If the enemies have -2/-2 it is slightly better then him having +2/+2 (because the positive modifier could be halved to ignored by 1/2 or 0 CV effects modifiers)

Yeah - and if the teammates are in the field and the badguys all leave - then the -2/-2 is a hindrance to the team.
  10. That was the idea I was thinking - it would have no range, and centered on him. If he moves would it move with him, and not affect him.

The GM was saying that CE didn't actually effect CV, and I'd need a "usable against other" like an old negative skill level, which is what confused me. I figured it was a 6E change.

Not trying to go against the GM - it's his game - I just didn't think I was that off. :D

  11. First character for 6E. Translating a character from an older edition, and I don't use 6E so I am not really familiar with it (the GM is).

The character has a shadowy field that he can turn on and off (at will so it isn't normally an attack action) that has a -2 perception and a negative effect on CV orignally a -2 to OCV and DCV. I have personal immunity - but if allies are in the area they get the penalties - so it becomes much less useful in the midst of a melee.

I didn't see Change Environment in 6E has an effect on CV.

    Any ideas appreciated.

New Epic Feats and Epic Feat Rules

Any feat that is an Epic feat can only be taken by an epic level character, even if all the other prerequisites are met. An Epic Feat can be traded for two nonepic feats. Note that any Epic Level feat that can be chosen multiple times and stacks (+1 Hit, +1 saves, +2 SR etc.) can only be chosen every three levels for the same feat. For example the +1 BAB feat is taken at 21st level, it cannot be chosen again until 24th level. But a +1 to saves could be chosen in that period. This includes Diefic Rank, Mythic Rank, and Epic Magic (+1 level).

BAB maxes at +20, Saves at +12 with pre Epic Clases and +class ability epic feats.

Once Epic level is reach any epic feat slot can choose a mythic feat slot.

Viggo Mortensen' date=' overcoming a rather odd name with the power of awesome.[/quote']

Yeah, him and Keanu. Who bought the entire SFX crew of the later matrix movies Motorcycles because they really had a lot to do to make the movies successful.
