  1. Re: The Last Word I think he was under the mistaken impression that full name of a tuba is "tubaphone" and was mutilating that. Hitting someone with a tuba would have a certain impact.
  2. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Let's put it this way: because of it, there'll be a rule change, and next season you'll see calls made for "Personal foul ... Unnecessary chili flatulence ... fifteen yards."
  3. Re: The Last Word I suppose I could add something about the laughter that engendered being carthropodic, too.
  4. Re: The Last Word Hmm. Photoshopping a cigarette into here wouldn't have quite the same impact, I guess.
  5. Re: The Last Word Hey, it's a long cable.

  7. Re: The Last Word Naah, it's just mike feedback.
  8. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Thou blaspheme. ((That's like suggesting you'd dump Gillian Anderson, DT.))
  9. Re: The Last Word That would explain a lot...
  10. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Have a few hundred Jimmy Hoffas done, and get all of Section 117 entombed somewhere in the new stadium under construction.
  11. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER We got a new set of kittens to foster Saturday. These are older (the first set we got when they were less than a week old), closer to 6 weeks, and the momcat is a feral (the first one was a real sweetie). She succeeded in getting into a space we didn't know existed. We have an open storage bay above a closet; which I can get into; what we didn't know is that the bay's nether end was left unfinished, so momcat got through that and into the little space immediately behind the shower head. My wife hauled her out of it -- had to, because momcat is to be spayed today, and I'm too big to get into the space -- and got several bites in the process. I covered over the storage bay entry with boards, cardboard, and duct tape. Wife's tetanus shot is current, we got her some antibiotics, and she's seeing the doctor this morning. The kittens are cute but spooky. The first batch, when you walked into the room, you'd get mobbed. These guys are even money to try to hide from you. We'll see if we can soften them up and get 'em socialized.
  12. Re: The Last Word Especially if you have played 7th Sea and recall their term for Satan is Legion.
  13. Re: Answers & Questions Q: His wife's making a quilt based on the Champions game he runs? What's he think of it so far? A: That whole concept is so NSFW there isn't ever going to be a smiley icon for it.

  16. Re: Sonics - tired power, need new ideas Don't forget a Find Weakness based on careful analysis of the vibrations induced in an object ... non-destructive ultrasonic testing. Won't work on force fields/walls, most likely, but that still leaves a lot. (Hmm, BoloOfEarth got this ahead of me.) Change Environment (the slippery floor thing, but in this case, it's a bouncing floor) inducing strong vibrations in the floor, so everyone falls down. "That's so loud I can't hear myself think!" ... INT, PRE, EGO Drains, maybe even Suppress on mental powers. Heck, with the right vibration-induction you can Suppress machinery ("Hey! The car won't start!"). If you're really hokey, you could put together a sonic-based physical-only Force Wall by making the air molecules vibrate in phase (not allowing other material objects to pass through). The opposite effect, a limited-volume UAO Desolid where you induce a section of material to "phase out" temporarily by playing with the vibrations in the material, is also a possibility that's out at the hokey end. Affects Desolid is a natural for sound-based powers with a lot of Desolid sfx. And do NOT forget sonar. Simple Invisibility and Darkness turn ineffective.
  17. Re: Multiform Well, this Multiformer is in a Champions campaign, and the form-change is induced by him taking a power pill. When I signed on I figured that someday there'd be an anti-power drug dart in his future; that is perfectly in genre. Hasn't happened yet, but there's no reason it can't and it's fair game when it does. (I'd feel the same way in a Fantasy campaign with a magic-based Multiform; counterspells are again perfectly in genre.) When it does happen, I'll want to talk with him about rules, since the situation hasn't come up before. I assume Dispel on a Multiform that's bought with the disadvantage "Each form can be used a maximum of once in 24 hours" reverts him to base form immediately, but he can transform immediately back to any other form he hasn't used too recently. But I also assume a Suppress works on the entire transformation process, and prevents him from entering another form as long as the Suppress is in effect. I'm trying to keep the guy balanced and appropriate for the campaign, and I run everything past the co-GMs first. So far, he is far from being anywhere near the lead in the group's Munchkin Derby.
  18. Re: Multiform As someone who plays a Multiform character whose base form is Nothing Special (lots of noncombat stuff), though, I live in dread of the day the GM hits me with an adequately strong Dispel or Suppress.

  24. Re: The Last Word In rot13, that's "mravfqbz vf gehguvarff". Nope, doesn't make any sense that way, either.
