  1. Re: But.... but .... but..... What? Haven't you ever had burritos? Must be a regional thing.
  2. Here are the pros and cons of the Hero System Resource Kit: Pros Rules Summary Campaign Ground Rules Sheet Character Creation Checklist Combat Record Sheet (the familiar write-in speed chart) GM Screen Hex Maps 3 two-sided Fantasy, SF, Modern including Rosie's Cons Miniatures (just B&W artwork, both sides are front silhouettes) GM Screen (it's actually too big!; there are some superfluous charts OCV vs DCV, Char vs. Skill Rolls not that detrimental but some bends in the screen fold the wrong way and you can't make a U-shaped picket just a N-or W-shaped one) All in all, I recommend it. I would replace mine if I were to loose it.
  3. When you add DCs to manuevers that do Killing Attacks, they add at 2 DCs per Killing DC. Most maneuvers are even to facilitate this addition. {EDIT: what misterdeath said, cursed deliberate typist me)
  4. Sounds like you want to take 4 to 6 tables from the Hero System Resource Kit's GM screen and string them into one and individualize that single multipage table for each player. This list would be well over a 100 entries long. I am not sure a list that long would be helpful unless it was well organized; just too many options. I think in the long run unless you want to play translator continually, it behooves the player to gain some expertise with at least that subset of the rules he is most often using. A less than omnibus options list with usage in mind might set the player down this path. On the other hand, an options list might also stifle creativity if the player falls into the rut of just using the list rather than role-playing combat.
  5. Season IV (9 episodes) plus 4 episodes of Season III this fall on Kid's WB.
  6. I googled this up: Fantasy Hero Strength Table Hopefully, Fantasy Hero 5th Ed. will have something like this. I pulled 4th Ed., unless I just can't find one, there isn't one in it or the two companions. As far as a rule of thumb, a meter cube of water weighs 1000 kg, a decimeter cube (~4 inches) is a liter weighs 1 kg, a gallon of water weighs 8 lbs; metal is denser than water so weighs more for a given volume, wood is less dense (generally), stone is usually about twice as dense. My last suggestion is just steal some other systems chart. (Doh, my typing speed betrays me again.)
  7. If they are coming from D&D, might I suggest that you use a couple of alternate dice conventions: A) Roll High On Attack Rolls: 3d6+OCV>=10+DCV is a hit. Roll High On Skill Rolls: 3d6+{CHAR/5+9}>=21 is a success (3d6+{CHAR/5+9}/2>=21 is a critical success for some skills like Danger Sense)

  11. Yes and I've seen elsewhere that Bruce Timm who produced both shows hints that "Superman's brooding doubts" that served as a catalyst for the formation of JL comes to head as he returns full circle to confront Darkseid. It should be quite an evening for Supe and Darkseid fans alike.
  12. Yea, more JL. -Industry 411 Archive- May 2003 Boo, more waiting. -Comics Continuum
  13. I am too late. Everything I would have said, has been said. a) Primary Archetype Point Efficiency c) Simple Design
  14. I suppose if the alien's demographics and physiological changes during the aging process are similar to the human model, then averaged over the whole species population the average Mon'dabi's Con would be 8+2=10. Though if a species has different demographics (huge numbers of children that don't make it into adulthood) or metamorphic stages (egg, nymph, pupa, etc) or never stops growing as they age like alligators, the population average could end up skewed just about anywhere. I would probably just use the 10 as the base since most interactions would be with competent adults for most aliens.
  15. In Fantasy Hero for 4th Ed, there was a sample campaign setting The Western Shores. Among the races was a race of catmen. My character Rogalio Arkona was a catman raised by a wealthy merchant family in Irolo. A wealthy, but infertile, couple longed for children and took a pilgrimage to the high temple of a fertility goddess. The seer told the woman that her prayers would be answered and "before she set foot in her home again, she would be with child." The Arkonas had a long, arduous trip back; it seemed that they might never reach home again, let alone become parents. Although they were happy to return to their bustling home town, there was little cause for joy as the wife was almost certainly not pregnant. As they passed the square where Panteran slaves were routinely bought and sold, they heard the mewling of an infant. The wife found the child and instantly bonded to the Panteran kit. The husband, not being a fool knew the social stigma that would attach to fostering a Panteran, at first tried to dissuade his wife's sentimentality, but due to his good nature could not deny his wife's "blessing." The Arkona's wealth and status bought Rogalio's way into Irolian merchant sociey as a Merchant Prince Puss-In-Boots.
  16. There are some new rules for using Telekinesis on energy in UNTIL Superpowers Database that you might find useful.
  17. The VPP has only Multiforms in it. The control cost should have Powers Can Be Changed As A Zero-Phase Action +1 or Powers Can Be Changed As A Half-Phase Action +1/2 and No Skill Roll Required +1 Advantages and a No Conscious Control Over What Forms or When Forms Change-1. All forms would have an Accidental Change Disadvantage. I think you need a binder though still, unless you modify the Random Superhero Generator in Champions. I think putting the Multiform in the VPP is preferable than the individual powers because you can change the Disadvantages around. Otherwise, you would have to introduce variable disadvantages in some form.
  18. The Archer: Fugitive from the Empire
  19. I began to suspect there might not be one-to-one correspondences as I read more about the art. Too bad the Block manuever basis is an exclusive basis, but the rules for Multiple Power Attacks and Sweeps would allow you to combine strikes with blocks. Too cool. Thanks for the insights.
  20. I see Steve put Braveheart, Rob Roy, and The Thirteenth Warrior on the list; more "no magic" fantasy candidates would be: El Cid with Charleston Heston as Spain's national hero, a man so noble both Christians and Muslims knelt in fealty before him. and Flesh & Blood with Rutger Hauer as a surly robber picking through the spoils (including Jennifer Jason Leigh) of the Black Death. Dark Fantasy Hero.

  22. Environmental Conditions: Cluttered, Cramped (cuts both ways though), Attacks from Behind, and as mentioned before Multiple Attack Bonus (w/ a some low chance of Co-ordinating attacks, maybe 8- or target character's Unluck). Another option might be to use the Hero System Bestiary rules for swarms and attack as a Zombie Swarm if you don't want to power down your heroes or power up your zombies.
