Gordon Lightfoot certainly did not need that song for his career. And he brought it to the families of the drowned sailors before he released it to ask for their approval. They all considered it a fitting tribute.

Detroit's Maritime Church rings its bell every year on the anniversary of the wreck, once for each sailor lost. Last year they added an extra stroke of the bell for Gordon Lightfoot after his passing.

(Sorry, that got my Canadian up a little.) 😌

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. The Crew is back and trying to fix the containment unit, deal with a Phoebe grounded by Mayor Peck, and stop a horned monster from uniting ghosts into an army of the dead.

They also both make tonic waters and club sodas.  Yeah, it's bizarre.

Oh, and to make it even MORE confusing?  The Schweppes brand name is owned by...COKE!!!....in much of the world, outside North America.  Corporate games....  My personal favorite soft drink was Hires...it was quite popular, but it was killed off.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hires_Root_Beer

Which also points out why keeping both Canada Dry and Schweppes in the corporate stable is odd...unless it's a denying move, to keep Schweppes OUT of Coke's hands.

I vaguely remember thinking Schweppes was sharper...Canada Dry sweeter...but it's been years.

That would be the 1990 version, and it's included on the 4K and standard Blu-ray discs. While I like that version, the original 1986 release seemed to be a tighter and scarier version. Without the sentry guns, for example, they are forced into a firefight with very little ammo against the hordes of aliens.

The Thirteenth Floor: A computer scientist is accused of murder, and the clues lead to a VR simulation. I enjoyed it, but found certain plot points to be predictable. (Bravia Core)

Dune, part one: Detailed adaptation of the novel about messiahs rising in the desert, a good watch. (Max)

Dune: This is the version with a soundtrack by Toto. Sets and costumes are very detailed in many of the scenes. Acting, not so much. A nostalgic watch. (Max)

Time Bandits: A kid gets involved with a troupe of thieves with a map showing holes in spacetime. It's a quirky, good watch. (Max)

The Lost Boys: After moving to a new town, two brothers find out that there's a sinister reason people keep disappearing. It's a good watch. (4K UHD Blu-ray)

Atlantis: The Lost Empire: Animated film from Disney, a linguist leads the search for the lost city of Atlantis. This one's much better than I remembered from watching it in the theater. (Blu-ray)

I had to drop off a package at the local post office, and I noticed a little stand on the sidewalk, with a big sign saying, "Defend Trump". I was going to ignore them, but as I was getting back into my car, one of them waved me over. Probably not his best idea. After I asked why are we defending a billionaire, his response was, "well, they're trying to take it away."
To which I responded, "Good. He deserves it." I then gave him a short rundown of how he stiffed a company I worked for ("I don't know the details of that"). So, then I explained to him about how Trump Tower was built using undocumented workers. I finished by saying that he is dangerous, should never be near the presidency again, and that he should be locked up. I then wished them a good day, and left. As I was getting back in my car, the gentleman I had been talking to looked like a deer caught in the headlights.
