  1. Yeah, I think you are right. He was found and experimented on much like Wolverine, IIRC. La Rose.
  2. So, given the obvious availability of advanced ai, why didn't they just send in a small fleet of such torpedoes with small nav droids to guide them to the exhaust? Also, why not just cover that entire canal and put a giant and thick mesh fence at the entrance. No ship would be able to get in and even if they did, there would be no way out. La Rose.
  3. Was he born? For some reason I thought he was an experiment gone wrong. Also, Bazza, you seems to have the same plan as I entered with: Massive and monstrous brawlers. La Rose.
  4. Here is a rare story of a cop who is facing repercussions for murdering someone: Vice News: Pennsylvania Cop Who Shot Unarmed Driver Lying Facedown Charged with Homicide La Rose.
  5. He is most certainly my favorite X-man and possibly my favorite comic book character period. Only Spidy rivals him for me. La Rose.
  6. Squirrel Girl did me proud last time. And I was close to snatching her up this time, too. Good choice and may she serve you well, outside of the week we fight against each other. ^^ For today's pick we will be expanding on the Monster Mash theme with a man who looks as devilish as they come but is a true saint at heart - Just like Big Green and Earthy Green. Please lets all have a round of applause as the newest member poofs on state: X-Men's Night Crawler! Monster Mash now is composed of Big Green, Earthy Green, and Lil' Blue. La Rose.
  7. In a way. He was suppose tk be my round four pick for both sides. Glad I went early with him then. On the good side, my next round pick is probably super safe. Even my round five is probably safe. La Rose.
  8. Snipe four... A part of me knew I should have put Groot off for later. Only two left in my line up. So, Since I already lost my concept should I go ahead and post my original roster? La Rose.
  9. Well, I am going to try and keep to my original plan with heavy modifications. Team Name for this season: Monster Mash. For my Stan Lee pick we have "I am Groot!" Initial Theme Song: We are now rocking Big Green and Earthy Green. La Rose. La Rose.
  10. ... Okay. That is snipe number three... I think I lost my concept completely now... La Rose.
  11. Did Luke gain some on the run? He was just following along with the others and went on a near suicide mission because of it. The only thing he chose was to not use the targeting computer and that was ob the urging of Ben. La Rose.
  12. Now we all know that isn't true. That's part of his charm. La Rose.
  13. Sniped Twice already. Well, I need to really rethink my concept at this point... La Rose.
  14. Full on snipe. I wanted to have Big Green And Little Green in a tag team match.
  15. The kid is twenty and committed no crime. He was even only charged with non violent resistance. So even the police, who are notorious for trumpted up charges, know they can't make a case the kid even possed the least of threats. Yet they managed to bust him up and make him require ten stitches. When being out at night is just cause to crack someones head, eapecially a college honor roll kid, we have a problem. La Rose.
  16. Some things are best left unknown... La Rose.
  17. I know you have your seven but I thought I would throw in an idea: Spectera Allison was a normal young girl from a meager background. But one thing that separated her from the rest since a young age was that she had incredible control over the corporal nature of her body. Even as a young girl she could concentrate and make her hand phase through things. Soon enough she was able to make her whole body do so and was able to even levitate slightly when she did so. And she continued to try and learn how to control these powers because while she could do some things it was always a struggle that required a lot of attention. One day, though, she was out shopping when a Super Villain and Hero decided to square off. Their battle raged on and caused a lot of destruction. And while most people were able to escape, a stray blast from the hero knocked over a powerline and poor Allison was struck by a live wire that super excited every atom in her body. The pain was immense and she blacked out quickly. When she awoke she was surrounded by pure darkness. She could see nothing, hear nothing, smell nothing, and feel nothing. It was as if she was trapped in the dead of space but without even the comfort of stars to sooth her. And no matter how much she tried to twist, flail and scream, nothing worked. She was scared. She thought she was dead. She thought back to all the times she tried to levitate and concentrated as much as she could. Eventually she manage to feel herself moving... Up? Then finally a glint of light appeared. She was floating up into a subway line and a train was dashing towards her. In vain she screamed and tried to guard herself but the train simply passed through her. --- Now Allison is in the opposite state as she was before. She is permanently incorporeal and must concentrate to interact with the real world. But because of her new state she is able to move things without trouble, she doesn't actually interact with gravity and thus doesn't fall through things - heck she can even fly to a degree. But now she is bitter. She is bitter that her life has been turned upside down. She blames the hero for her state. And she is angry that 'hero' never came to save her. She was alone and scared and no one came to save her. She is interested in the villainess team less for money, power, fame, or thrill and more in it for the chance to exact some kind of revenge on heroes at large. Thus she has the potential to be the most violent and cruel of the ladies.
  18. Obviously the most dangerous weapon of all : a lack of respect for the officer's 'authoritah'. La Rose.
  19. Vondy, you clearly don't hold to that view so what inspires it now? Surely anyone could look back on your posts and find you commenting on subject to which your view will have no impact. Thus, that reason is not likely to be a driving rule to guide your decisions on whether or not to comment here. No, we comment to share and belong. We comment because it is human nature to be want to be a member of a group, and part and parcle with that is reflection and commentary on issues relevant to that group. Moreover, I reject your claim that it will have no impact. By airing our griefs we encourage others to do the same by proxy. And it is that discussion that produces change. La Rose.
  20. So, why in the world was a SWAT team sent to serve a F*ing warrant? How is that considered something worthy of needing a SWAT team? Surely if SWAT is needed, then there must be a major violent crime in progress, right? Or at the very least the person needs to have a strong history of violence above and beyond the means for a single squad car of people. I hope that police officer is fired and potentially tried and put into jail for murder. I also hope this encourages that community to decommission their SWAT groups since they obviously can't be trusted to not murder people. La Rose.
  21. I didn't say each police officer was. I did say "most" and that they are all collectively corrupt and I stick by that. I would safely wager that most cops (perhaps the vast majority) have done and / or are doing something illegal. Something that would get anyone of us locked up. There are countless stories accounting to this. And I think it is hard to claim that it is only a minority when so often the boys in blue do everything they can to cover up for each other. Their collective mindset is "protect ours" and not "protect the public". And it is hard to argue against that when you see stories like the above where 4 cops and 2 DA (IIRC) all went before a court to lie by swearing a man actually assaulted a cop in broad daylight in front of a court while everyone was watching. If so many cops are willing to lie to have a completely and utterly innocent man sent to jail for daring to "serve legal papers" to a cop, what do you think they are willing to do to everyone else? And if so many are willing to do it when the man is so obviously innocent, how many do you think are willing to commit lesser crimes when there is even less evidence that could be used against them. La Rose.
  22. And they never will. Why? Because police and prosecutors are all collectively corrupt SOBs. The guy should thank the heavens the police didn't decide to go for a no-knock warrant that 'accidently' lead to his death. Such would be par for the course for most police it seems. La Rose.
  23. PatternGhost, I think this a great point for a mea culpa. I have a bad habit of visiting this site, opening a few windows and then on casually reading over it over the course of several hours while doing other things. I miss-remember who exactly posted that link. Realizing that now, I can see why you were caused undue confusion by Ragitsu and myself. I am sorry for my part in that. That said, I do stand by my later points about bad policing. La Rose.
  24. PatternGhost: I don't think that is a fair assessment of Ragitsu point. At best (for your assumed side) Ragitsu is saying that there are situation in which Cops should give orders to stop something before opening fire. That is a point you would seem to clearly agree with. That is why your providing of that Tacoma mall incident is not in keeping with the topic. It was a clear situation were the guy with the gun already had it out and it was clear he had intent to use it. The incidents Ragitsu and many others take issue with are ones where the cops get away with killing us because they think there is a chance, no matter how small or stupid, that the suspect might just possibly have a gun. And take action to kill that person without ever allowing people to question that decision because 'authoritah!'. La Rose.
