  1. Ok, the Psion being there makes me very nervous
  2. Someone once said the best age of comics is whatever you read at age 12. I think there's some truth to that, so I'd probably favor Early Bronze with a lot of respect for late silver. The modern age now isn't so bad IF you know where to go, but it can be hard to pick up the slivers of bronze or silver (If that's your preference) If you don't have a clue it is still around. I've little patience for 'deconstructing the superhero'. It's been done so often it almost makes regular superheroic decency look fresh and new I've also read some "Golden Age" stuff, and really, Pre-Comics Code Authority stuff and post Comics Code Authority are two different beasts. The heroes were a lot more pulp and savage in the earliest days, even the ones who didn't often watched the bad guy plummet to his death with a shrug. Then the CCA came in, and yeah, mostly the corn remained
  3. While I like the harpist and noble just fine, I REALLY like your new banner. That's a great example of how many genres you cover seemingly daily
  4. Another completely non random thread I'm abusing this for shame on me
  5. A completely non random thread I'm hoping to guide a few more people to for the next 12 hours or so
  6. If we could choose the time period, then Spider-Man pre Civil War and OMD comes to mind, despite the troubles Peter faced , he had a loving wife , family and friends.
  7. Ah, found this thread again. Pardon my self bumpage, but I wanted to look up some old notes and am feeling lazy
  8. Alas, I have no palindromedary, but yes I've thought the same
  9. Bulletproof me (and pummel proof me) and I'll be highly tempted but still nervous. Flight plus bulletproofing? Even more likely, because getting away would be crucial. If I didn't end up slipping out of my clothes, stretchy might encompass all I need (Long legs for get away, bullet resistant, etc). Simple invisibility? I'd use it as whistleblower maybe, but not often a superhero. Superstrength would be awesome, but in a world where I can buy a taser or something, not as necessary as the defenses. I can't sew, so my costume would either suck or be a trademark infringement If its not too much to ask, could I have 20/20 vision? Be nice to have decent eyes again, and then I could keep the frames and clark kent people
  10. Like others, I think Sapphire might go for one, but I doubt she's reveal all so much as have discrete placement that some might call down right tasteful. It would allow her to balance her public relations needs. I can also see her donating said proceeds to a charity "Funds for the Fallen" to help say families who had lost a father or mother who had been a superhero, frex. If Teen Dream is still around, and now of age, assuming her secret isn't exposed, she's a likely candidate.
  11. I truly dislike Cable. There are others, but he's the first one that came to mind, and that probably says something
  12. Favorite Live Action TV show- Probably the Greatest American Hero, but Flash was excellent as well (I'm enjoying Arrow too) Animated TV show- Justice League Unlimited. Though it has some great competition Live Action Movie- Superman (Again, lots of great competition) Animated Movie: The Incredibles
  13. "I officially have no idea what you people want from me!" Heh
  14. A lot depends on the writer, the era, and so on. For example, Marvel's "One More Day" soured me on Peter Parker. Tomasi improved my opinion of Guy Gardner. Go fig But if I had to pick right now on the spur? Favorite Superhero: Captain America (Steve Rogers) Favorite Superhero Team: The Bwhhaha version of the Justice League Favorite Villain: None ("I don't like villains, they're evil!"- Dwayne McDuffie) (Ok, I'm fond of Foxbat)
  15. Pretty much the same. It varies from character to character, of course. I've had characters break bones without remorse, and I've had others who put on the kid gloves and keep them on when others are cutting loose.
  16. Durkula for the win! And Nale is down one of his more dangerous followers, the odds are certainly shifting.

    Another Test

Super Secret Mod experiments... pay it no mind.
  18. Exactly how Nale's dad will react to this should be fascinating to watch. Tarquin (Sp?) might be very proud, very ticked, or both. Frankly, while I cheer for the heroes, there's no denying the villains have stolen the show more than once.
  19. I think I was worried about the wrong guy... because Nale just had a crowning moment of badassery http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0906.html
  20. I'm surprised Belkar's still alive at this point!
  21. That wish is granted And to answer the question more seriously, I can easily see Dr. Destroyer using his first wishes to neutralize the military of each 1st world nation, at least in its chance to interfere with him.
