  1. Re: Char: Ergo Nice idea. Bizarro in reverse. I could see this as a PC even. Also bumping for other's comments. Jerome
  2. Re: Else Earth Naming Game... I always liked the one from GURPS' Super Thugs. TRADE Technilogical Research And Development Enterprises Looks so innocuous, but really very nasty. Jerome
  3. Re: Which Villain Do You Want to Play? I had an idea a while back for a way to redeem Bulldozer that involved a total rewrite of the guy as a result of finding out he is the inheritor of the mantle of the Scarlet Scarab (from Freedom City). He would get a suite of mental pwoers and an expanded moral consciousness. I'd love to run it just to see the PC expressions as he reddemed himself. Jerome
  4. Re: Irksome players Her is mine from the point of view of a player. The "I MUST KNOW ALL THAT IS GOING ON WITH EVERBODY ELSE" player. This was in Palladium Fantasy ans said person had a Mind Mage (psionic type) with enough power points to fuel alot of power. He started doing the following: GM: can i talk to you in the other room (code for this is for your PC only) Me: sure IMKA: I listen in telepathically (which means he can sit in on the conversation) Gm let him get away with it first few times but the players got him to break it. We took turn asking the GM for a talk in the back room, he would follow and we would say Hello and go back to the table. When he complained of how would we know he was listening in, we responded how would he know when to listen in, or did he have to telepathy on everyone 24/7 ( totally impossible ). Later he got worse and in my opinion caused the break up of the group cause we couldn't deal with his attitudes. He tried to GM a game but it fell through after one session when we found out that good= stupid and the CE orc with IQ of 8 was a tactical and strategic genius simply cause he was evil. Jerome Sorry for venting.
  5. Re: Best published adventure Other good ones IMHO: Target Hero Just change Demon to a more generic high tech organisation and your ready to go. Also it has an NPC that needs the heroes help. (Make him one of the PCs to really tie it in.) Shadows in the City This one is actually three campaigns in one. The Brother M story line (the main one) has a grat start point that you can use to introduce a villainous agency/ villain group. If you can find it Atlas Unleashed is another that introduces a villian agency with supers backup. It will need extencive modification though cause the agency itself is tied to Cold War US vs USSR politics. As I said, just MHO.
  6. Re: Any interest in V&V converted to Champions? Count me in as well. I love seeing change-overs of some villians I remeber fighting. VnV was my first superhero game I played in and the GM had ALL the modules. The Most Wanted books were very cool and I would love to see some of the villians from those books stated out (ex Super Nova, Arachnos and Mountain Man) Jerome
  7. Re: Al-Qadim warrior templates please comment Well those skills are part of the "chose a couple skills to round out your template" types. So a corsair with it may seem strange but as you say if he is working to become a captain he may pick it up. It is not mandatory. Paramedics is basic first aid really and again part of the chose skills section. If you feel that offering to all the templates is overboard, well it can be changed. It just might be my own bias showing as any PC I ever made had paramedic/first aid (no matter the system).
  8. So I finally got around to making some templates for Al-Qadim warriors. Please note I am not going for super acurate translations but feels. Any constructive criticism welcome and appreciated. 9. Has anyone been inspired to use any of the CoH groups or individual mobs in your games? Example: I like the Sky Raiders. A high tech merc group with some neat toys and ties to the US government. Plus flying jetpacks are cool. Also Zenith Hoverbots. I would take them from the Council and give them to the SR. So anyone else have some favourites?
  10. Re: Evil Organizaitons Another good one I like is from GoO. Thier Villians supplement had the Reborn. This was an evil offshoot of the Pheonix Collective a good organisation. This group has worldwide influence and fights against the WTO and assiciated global corporations. The Reborn do the Nasty jobs that the first group will never touch. Also are big beleivers in a conspiracy by the WTO to gain economic control of the planet. Obviously this is a very trucated version of what they are like. Jerome PS Any notice that it has parallels to the old Atlas Unleashed organisation.
  11. Re: Original Supervillain Groups -- Get Creative! Here's one I just remebered I would like to try. Note really original but KUDDOS if you can figure the inspiration. The Squad What happens when you take five spoiled jaded rich young people with alot of money, a superiority complex and allow them access to some high tech power armour. You get the Squad. The beleive they are better than you are and will beat you up to prove it. Gem: Armour optimised for fast movement. Has a power blade and a crystal like sheild that can reflect most ranged attacks. Tank: Armour optimised for defence and strength. Has a force field for extra defence. Gauntlets are weighted like a fist load and has a mini-missle launcher system. Scarab: Armour optimised for movement includes clinging. Has web shooters ala Spiderman. Raptor: Armour has wings. Weapons include a long range blaster/laser. Also possesses rudimentary cloaking feild. Bunsen: Armour optimised to resist energy esp. fire. Equiped with flame thrower/launcher. Jerome
  12. Re: The Coming of Deth Sturm! And NO backbone. Seriously every female drawn by Liefeld seems to be arching backwards while standing up straight. Oh and a waist so tiny that the feet look huge compared to them. Jerome
  13. During the early part of July I am planning to go to the Maritime region for a vacation. Now we have a good store up here, but it is limited due to population size. So when I get a chance to get out of town I try to hit the LGS. So can anyone here from that region help me with some suggestions? PS if this post is in the wrong forum please move it. Jerome
  14. ... well since he indirectly gets his powers from the Unconquered Sun, would they be called... The Exalted!!!!! Sorry the parrallels were to good to pass up! Jerome
  15. Re: Favorite Superhero Lines Also from the Thing: "What a revoltin' development this is!" Superman (and I am dating myself here): "Up! Up! And away!" Jerome

    Resource Points

Re: Resource Points Thanks for the answers. Sounds interesting. So it's something like Brownie points from the old Super agents book. But how do you use them for bases? and do they cost character points for a base pool? Jerome
  17. I saw this mentioned on another thread and was wondering what they were and how are they used. Could someone enlighten me please? Jerome
  18. Re: Plot for Mastermind Thanks for all the replies. I am not running a game right now (I am sooooo isolated) but when I read MM description I loved the concept but couldn't get ideas for suitable villiany. I would love to use him in the next campaign I run (which will be set in San Angelo) ( if ever ) and I will keep these ideas in mind for plots. Again thank you Jerome
  19. Re: Shadows of the City (by Scott Sigler) Ouch, yeah forgot about that terror. In a similar vein is Rottweiler and his HKA based on a grab. As he was a brick when he pulled it off it hurt. Also both characters has fairly large regen rates which creeped out players who saw damage healing before their eyes. Jerome
  20. This is not plots for a mastermind but for the Mastermind. For those curious he is in the Freedon City book and could best be described as a cro magnon man kidnapped by an alien ship, learned enough to take it over, became a master of it. Designed himself a perfect body with powerful TK abilities and has extensive knowledge of genetics and other sciences. He see's hiself as a protector of humanity and will lead them to a golden age ( that they don't agree with his vision is a sad commentary on the blindness of the human race, but they will learn to follow and accept his vision) So sort of Gravitar's powerset with Teleios' science back up. But what sort of plots would he set up. Remember he is functionally immortal so long term planning is an actuall possibility. Jerome
  21. Re: Shadows of the City (by Scott Sigler) I also ran the whole thing end to end. The Pack is interesting but for my group the best part was the investigationin the middle part with the Nocturnals, they really got into it. All in all it really is a fun set of adventure but like Dr. said the villians are very capable and some are loaded with killing attacks (Mongrel and Guillotine come to mind). If you have a dislike of KAs you will need to modify it. If you have a darker supers game planned then they are fine. Jerome
  22. Re: The President wants to talk to you
  23. Re: Fantasy Campaign Guidlines: Please comment (stupidly long) Just looked at it and all looks ok..... except for Heirloom Item. As a player looking at the three groups I would not take that option. Legacy is intrinsic and can't be taken away, Magic is intrinsic and can't be taken away. With Independant, well the GM giveth and the GM taketh away. I lose my character points in the meantime. So after 25 exp gaming I lose the item somehow and suddenly I am points in the hole and loose a good chunk of my power. This is just MHO and if you could address these concerns could you please post them. Jerome
  24. Re: Hitman: Your Next DC Campaign! Ok why is it that the first thing that popped into my head reading that was that it should have a sound bite from AC/DC's "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" attached to it? Jerome
