  1. Re: I need a Chinese Super Team. Chinese acrobats of crime! A sort of version of the classic circus of crime, difference being that these guys could leap from tall buildings without getting hurt and climb up any surface. And combine to make voltron. Well, okay, not combine to make voltron, but their coordination in a mass combat would be awesome as they leap off of one another. Darn, looks like you have your background. [dashes down notes about acrobats of crime for his own campaign] Ok, so I'm heavy into the stereotypes. At least I didn't make them a group of launderers with an ancient secret.
  2. Re: Academy of Super Villain awards: The Monnies Gotta be the FAIL award too. Someone (who will either not show up or who will try to "get even with you all") should get a special mention for the biggest screw-up of the year.
  3. Re: WWE Snark-Free Zone Cole is doing a pretty good heel announcer. I think he realized what Jerry Lawler forgot; you can't half-ass the heel position. When they'd occasionally have Jerry & JR spar to "create tension" it never felt legit because Jerry was still playing to the audience not against them. Cole is obnoxious and it's the thing he was born to do. As long as he keeps getting heat he'll have a job. Haven't caught TNA recently. Last thing I remember about them was that Christopher Daniels was gone, they were pushing big bloated former stars, the Dudleys had completely worn out their gimmick of being, well, themselves, and Hogan and Bischoff were killing the things that made TNA into something unique... the six-sided ring, letting the women actually wrestle, the x-division. I tried to watch RoH the other day. I realize the production values are much lower than WWE, and somewhat lower than TNA, and while the wrestling was pretty decent, the whole thing felt like it was being filmed in someone's back yard.
  4. Re: And now, for your daily dose of cute... Yeh, I'd have to keep it... just not much bacon on that one.

  7. Re: Something fishy about this Spot something wrong? Only that your players don't listen to you. I'd point out to them that if they're happy with long stretches of combat where they are completely useless and sitting on the sidelines, then run with it. My Champions fights are never short, even when I try to make them short. The phenomenon of players who don't listen is not a new thing. I set up my campaign and said, "Make whatever you want on X points, but no time travelers, no aliens." So I wound up with three time travelers and an alien out of 7 characters. They were quickly converted to fish-out-of-water characters (No actual time-travel powers; they were just anachronisms). I wanted to kneecap all four players for ignoring my very meager request.

  10. Re: Does This Seem Shady? Simply put, if you have to ask if it's shady then it probably is. -2 is WAY overpowered. It's all about how often something comes up. If you're fighting in a galaxy with a red sun then it's valid. If you're fighting on Earth then it's worth -0.
  11. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Whitesnake @ Hammersmth on HDNet.
  12. Re: Supervillain pic of Brick What's that sonny? I can't hear ya.
  13. Re: Anyone ever converted the Shogun Warriors or any of their related properties? Tried to model them for the Hero Games "Robot Warriors" game once. Got a headache. Put it aside.
  14. Re: And now, for your daily dose of cute... My dog Henry and the neighbor dog, Buddy, engineer their own play date. Two days in a row. My yard is getting holes at an alarming rate.
  15. Re: WWE Snark-Free Zone I actually caught the end of RAW for the first time in a while. I couldn't help but think that he's absolutely what was missing. Cena, Miz, Punk... they all have their benefits, but someone who can work a crowd like that has been missing a long time. Glad to see they're pairing him with someone he hasn't feuded with 1,000 times.
  16. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Who doesn't love weapon wielding centipedes? Awesome.
  17. Re: Your Bearded Duplicate No responses yet, so I'll try my own. Anthem. While she would not be bearded (we hope), she would likely have to turn this over to the other superheroes in the city. If they are unavailable then this would be all about capturing her; probably create some kind of trap, knowing her own weaknesses (Something are effect, entangling to restrict activity), then she'd have scientists here ship her, still bound, back to her own world. There they could have her stand trial or whatever. Uncle Slam would have to get a whole team on his capture, but the plan is similar to above. Only without major weaknesses, this becomes about simply overpowering in combat by the local hero team. If that fails, he'd confront him directly and even move in close enough to demonstrate that it would be the end of them both. It's all about convincing the otherworld version of him that he's crazy enough to do them both in. Failing that, he contacts the one man he knows can do the job: Paragon, the most powerful hero on the planet. It might kill him (because his power suit is slowly killing him) but he'd come out of retirement to do that, for the common good. Audra Blue hates the idea of someone pretending to be her. Worse yet, if they're running around outside while she's base-bound, she'd be fuming. She'd wait until the evil version was online so they could confront one another virtually, then she'd send info to the team as to where she's broadcasting from so they could nab her. Problem is, evil AB would have countermeasures, so it comes down to who rolls better.
  18. In classic fashion, you come across an alternate universe version of you. He's quite evil. Whenever the two of you are in close proximity to one another, strange things happen (Electronics fizzle, power circuits overload, static electricity increases, the tempeerature rises). The closer you get, the worse things get. It's postulated by several scientists you trust/know/or are aware of your existence, that direct contact could be volatile, like matter and anti-matter. How do you handle your evil self if you supsect that contact with him could be catastrophic? BONUS: The sadistic bastage is getting away back into his own universe where he could cause all kinds of suffering for the denizens of that world... Do you capture him and risk having the two of you in the same realm where contact could end the world?
  19. Re: Does your California Superhero team need land an island for a base? No thanks, I'll stick with Neverland Ranch.

  21. Re: The Snow Storm Anthem would probably wear a costume with more coverage, and stick to her street patrols, though I suspect crime would take a holiday to some degree. Instead there'd be an upswing from criminals who enjoy the cold (Cold powered villains). Uncle Slam would deploy PRIMUS agents in heavy vehicles to help clear roads. He might take a few hours to go around hoisting vehicles out of precarious spots. Audra Blue would analyze weather data to try and figure if this was part of some criminal plan. Finding none, she'd create a virtual snow simulation so that she could experience snow, never having been in any and fearing to go outside. The Flood district of town is a district that somehow seems impervious to weather conditions. There are all sorts of counters built into it. It's also the only fully completed section of town that meets the original plans designed by the founder. They'd turn on warmers that melt the snow, which promptly is funneled away by hidden ducts, almost as if he knew this would happen some day. The rest of the city is not so lucky.
  22. Re: How would your character rate on a villian's threat matrix? Anthem With research they could probably figure out who she was and where she lives, since she doesn't maintain a particular identity (secret/public). They could surveil her and probably find a few pictures of her in action from local news. She's not a national hero. They would not know of any weaknesses outside of generally working solo and being a martial artist, so a gameplan is not all that hard to establish. Rating: 3. She could take out handfuls agents but they'd generally think she's defeatable with planning or one proper supervillain. Uncle Slam He's famous. They know where he works and that he probably lives there too. They'd know nothing about his origin and reports of weaknesses so far seem to be smoke screen. His power is well documented. Rating: 10. This is Metropolis' Superman. You don't come there and do serious crime and expect to not have a visit. Audra Blue She's an enigma. She's done work for private companies. Any pictures of her seem to be very outdated, being shots of her as a pre-teen when she would appear with the city's founder. Her powers all seem to be cyber-kinetic or online in some regard. She's an information junky who lives in a code fortress virtually, and a real fortress (base) in real life. They might be able to find out some insight from her psychiatrist. Rating: 8. She couldn't stop their crimes herself but she could make things really tough on them by whacking their information systems and leading other heroes to problem points.
